" , the repairman, found that our fireplace was putting out a great deal of carbon monoxide...the most he had ever seen. Initially, he thought" we would need a new fireplace, but took time to investigate further. He went outside and checked the chimney and found that the cap of the chimney was too small and not venting properly. I told him that, after a tornado, we had a new roof and chimney cap installed. The company that installed the cap had done it improperly. It could have killed us. Luckily, there was some kind of smell that alerted me to the problem. It wasn't the carbon monoxide as it does not smell. I'm very grateful that found the real problem and didn't just put in a new fireplace. I highly recommend this company and will use them for all chimney needs. I don't know why they are not listed under chimney sweeps on Angie's list.

"We contacted about a month ago regarding our fireplace's ventless gas log setup that we knew needed to be replaced. " returned my call promptly and scheduled a time with me to come out and take a look. arrived promptly and quickly evaluated what we have and presented options on suitable replacements. He also took a look at our gas grill and let us know what parts to order to get that working again as well. provided a quote for his work and then left us to decide what logs we liked and when/if we wanted to move forward. About a week later I let know we had made a selection and were ready to move forward. Our first install appointment needed to be rescheduled due to some unexpected gas line work at our house and was totally flexible about rescheduling. On the day of install, called to let us know he was on his way and arrived as expected. He quickly got to work and had all work completed within a couple hours. He probably would've been finished even sooner had it not been for an unexpectedly missing piece on our grill that he had to run out and get to complete that portion of the project. We are very happy with our now working fireplace and would recommend to anyone needing this type of work. We had a great experience and expect others will as well.

He hasn't legally abandoned the job as long as he is still showing up and doing something, even if it is very little, from time to time.  You'll have to fire him first.  Have documentation that the job is not being done in a timely manner, showing when he has and has not worked.  Be ready for a fight and probably a legal battle since he will likely still want more money or won't refund money paid for incomplete work.

Change the locks and inform the contractor their services on your property are terminated.  Tell him if anyone representing his company enters your property they will be considered trespassing and will be prosecuted.  Then hire another company to check the work he has done to make sure it is right.  Somehow I doubt it is given the nature of his work ethic.  Then have the new contractor repair any bad workmanship and finish the job.  Keep records as any documented things that have to be redone will help your case against the first contractor.

I would recommend finding a good hearth retailer in your area and work with them to select a stove that is right for your home. They should also be able to arrange for certified installer to handle the installation. Keep in mind many areas require a city or county permit for the installation, and it may be wise to have the chimney and fireplace inspected by a certified chimney sweep beforehand.

We have recently completed a major project by having our basement finished. During this project we had decided to install a fireplace as our "big splurge", and our contractor, Custom Homes, referred us to of St. saying that they did business with them and they have wonderful ...More products to choose from. We have never had a fireplace before and knew nothing about choosing the right one or what work was involved in installing one. We were referred to from who deals with contractors and we were told he was the only person to deal with. We were assured that could call us to set up a time for him to come to our house with catalogues, brochures and take measurements and advise us what products would work for us. Our contractor called and told him we were prospective clients and gave him our phone number and we waited for a call. After a few days, we'd heard nothing from , so our contractor called again and also gave my husband 's number. My husband called and left several messages to try and set this meeting up. never returned any of the calls. This took about 2 weeks.

Eventually we decided to go to 's showroom and look at fireplaces ourselves with the hope of meeting . We went there on a Saturday morning and met who was very helpful in showing us the various fireplaces available but was not able to help us making decision or purchasing one because we had a contractor and needed to deal solely with . We decided on a Novus fireplace from Heatilator, took a few catalogues that gave us and 's cell number and left.

My husband (and our contractor) then tried once again to get hold of so that we could put in our order for the fireplace. They left numerous messages and didn't call us back for over a week or 2. Eventually our contractor left another message while we were in a meeting with him and called back the following day (October 31st). He told to call my husband to take an order and set up a time to come to our house to take measurements. He called my husband a couple of days later and took the order over the phone. We were told it would take about a week and it would be delivered on Monday November 24th and would be installed on Tuesday November 25th. arrived on Tuesday to install it and that is when we discovered that the measurements for the exhaust pipe were incorrect. We needed 12" and we only 9" in height and as it was a vented fireplace "someone" needed to drill a large hole through the basement wall to accommodate that. was unable to install the fireplace.

We were told that does not do any concrete drilling and that we'd have to contact our contractor who'd have to bring in a concrete guy to drill a hole through our foundation to make the exhaust compatible. This was an extra unforeseen cost to us due to 's negligence in actually coming to our house to see where the fireplace would be installed and taking measurements. Once again our basement work was on hold due to having a fireplace installed. In the meantime, both my husband and our contractor had been desperately trying to contact because the concrete guy needed to get some specs and info from him.

I had taken 2 days of vacation so that I could be home for and our project had been held up for 5-6 weeks because we couldn't get hold of . I had finally had enough and contacted to complain about our issues and he assured me that he would look into it. He called me back and basically said that he had spoken to and told him to call us. I felt like he was blowing me off and not really interested in listening to my frustrations nor did he really understand why I was so angry. Just walking over to someone's desk to find out why someone was not answering calls or returning calls is not sorting out the problem. Maybe if my husband had called he'd have taken more notice!

I was totally fed up with ! They had put our project back at least 5-6 weeks because we couldn't have any other inspections done until the fireplace was installed and we had incurred an added expense, which I feel should have been by for their ineptness. If this is the way that does business I am totally amazed that they stay in business. There really is "no other store like "! We really shouldn't have to work so hard to beg a company to sell us their product. I will never purchase anything from them again. It's just too much hard work and frustration and their customer service is really a "dis-service!

Having said that, I must clarify that it is the sales division that we had the problems with and not the installation people. We had no trouble with the installation people who arrived on time and were communicative and very pleasant to deal with - I stand corrected, but I do believe that the people doing the installations are not employees (and it shows!). Their products are beautiful, the prices are exorbitant and the service that WE received was diabolical.

was excellent. Very nice and informative. Went over the pros and cons of several different types of gas logs and inserts. His price was better than a couple of others that I got bids from. He was running a little late but finished in the time he said he would. He accidentally left the hot water heater off. I called and ...More he walked me through step by step on how to turn it back on. I am so glad he did because if it ever happens again, I know how to turn it back on. Because of his forgetting to turn the water heater back on, he said he would come back in spring and give my AC a free inspection. Now that's good customer service. I would recommend him to anyone.

We purchased our new home in 2014 and decided the ventless gas fireplace needed to be cleaned and checked. I checked Angies List and found to have good ratings and reasonable pricing. I phoned and spoke with the owner, , and scheduled an appointment. He arrived on time and quickly ...More checked and cleaned the fireplace. Since I was not familiar with the ventless gas fireplace, I asked him to explain its operation and performance. He carefully and patiently provided a detailed explanation of how to light the pilot , adjust the burners and use the fireplace. He stressed that with this type of ventless fireplace, it was important to crack a window slightly when using the fireplace to avoid pulling too much humidity from the house. He cautioned that the glass front and metal framing on these fireplaces gets extremely hot and it is important to watch children carefully and keep them at a safe distance from the fireplace. He also said i should call him at anytime if I had additional question about the fireplace or its operation. The service perform was thorough and efficient. I really appreciated that he took the time to provide detailed tips on operation and safety that I was not aware of. I highly recommend this company if you have any need for gas appliance service or repair.

He is good, honest, communicates, on top of things and we've had him do other work before. He is just very trustworthy. He does a lot of remodeling so in this case he subcontracts. He brought in concrete guys, but he watched over them and then he watched over all the other work that was being done and he just made sure it was all going on time ...More and being done right and helped run with gas lines and helped with the electrical work. The concrete is all beautifully done.

I called to have them come and check my gas log fireplace. Spoke with , he set an appointment. He was supposed to be there at 4:15 PM. He called at 3:15 PM to say he was running late, asked how late he said 2 hours. I asked if he would be there by 6:15 PM, he said yes. Then he didn't get there until 7:15 PM. He looked ...More at the fireplace and I said I would like it to be serviced so it could be used for winter, but I would consider doing some sort of insert or update, depending on cost. He also looked at the water heater and said it needed to be replaced. Asked how much that would cost, he said, "$1100." I thought that sounded high for a 40 water heater. He asked about whether the fireplace was vented or not, I said I would check with the condo association. Then he said the flu was broken after looking at it. Said he would get back to me with a price to get the fireplace in shape or do the insert. Did not hear from him for over 2 weeks, called and left a message asking if he could do the work and if he was still interested in the job. A phone call or two were exchanged, the last one he had called me saying he was going to text a picture he'd taken of a fireplace insert. Never got it. In the meantime I'd contacted somebody else from Angie's List who kept the appointment we scheduled within a week. He got my gas logs in great shape for the winter for $120, the flu is working just fine and I still have the same water heater. Trinity did not take any money from me and did not take the job and then mess it up, it definitely could have been worse! I just thought the communication and follow up was so poor I didn't want to move forward with having Trinity do the work.

Responded to my initial call within 24 hours and scheduled an appointment. Quoted me a price on the phone of $160 to service the gas logs and get them ready for use this winter. Very personable. He arrived on time and did a great job on the gas logs. Then he informed me it would cost less than he originally stated, so I only had to pay $120. Excellent ...More experience, gas logs work great. Would recommend to anybody!

Had an appointment with these guys to look at three of the five coal->gas fireplaces in my 114 year old house in a the city. I called to confirm my late morning appointment at 10am and was told everything was on schedule. At 4:45pm when no one had shown up I called back. My appointment had been moved without my knowing it because the technician was ...More no longer available. While I understand that things come up, I would have appreciated a phone call. Also, the person I talked to the second time I called did not seem concerned at all with what had happened and just kept telling me, "Well, I didn't do it." My work schedule is incredibly hectic and making the time for home repair appointments is not easy. I cancelled the appointment and am looking for a different company.
