The basement kitchenette was being rebuilt and we needed new countertops for the new cabinets being installed. We contacted costco and they in turn referred us to Solid Surface Resources (SSR). They emailed us a quote based on the general contractor's sketch of the cabinet placements. The quote included pricing for four grades of granites as well as other man made materials. The contract is written in very clear terms with pricing options with sufficient descriptions.
The SSR representative (
Green) met me at the granite showroom/wholesaler. Based on my description of the kitchenette she suggested some stones. She never attempted to steer towards more expensive stones. The same can be said for the edging choices.
Within a week, a foamboard template of the granite was made by SSR. The young man who did the templating, placed the joint locations not only based on aesthetics but also so that it can be taken to basement through a narrow doorway. I met with and the proprietor at their facility to finalize the layout on the previously chosen stone so that the grain flow are maintained to our preference. This was a great opportunity to let us visualize how the actual stone will look like in the kitchen and make changes as necessary.
Approximately a week after, the countertop, backsplash and a base for a pass through window were installed by two men from SSR. It took them a few hours for the entire installation process.
The machining details of the finished product exceeded our expectation as was the installation. This was an outstanding operation from start to finish."

"At first I thought that the price was a little high for laminate counter tops, but I discovered that this is not your grandma's laminate. I selected top-of-the-line Wilsonart HD (Crystalline Onyx). It has a slight texture and looks a lot like stone. Sr. & Jr. did a great job with the installation. There was a slight problem with one of the connecting pipes under the sink (it was so corroded that it crumbled), but Sr.fixed the problem at no extra charge. The installers hauled away the old counters, sink, disposal etc. and cleaned up after they finished. It took about 3 hours, but said it would have been less if it were not for the problem with the pipes. I love the way the counters look."

" worked in concert with my contractors in providing the estimate for the granite work. She met me at two different warehouses to select slabs that would work with my color schemes and be within my budget. She visited my home several times to check on progress of renovation and to "eyeball" the colors. After installation of the cabinets, she invited me to the fabricator's warehouse to layout the template on the slabs, so I could choose exactly where I wanted the coloration. While waiting for the granite, my old countertops were used so the kitchen could be functional. The counters were installed in one evening by and an assistant who did a great job. later returned to realign one section that had settled slightly. (My house is 100 years old.) The granite is stunning and works perfectly with the colors. has visited several times."

"Job was estimated by phone (6 projects) for 6 hours at $75 per hour. Actual time for 4 projects was 11 hours. Two and 1/2 (total) hours was spent at hardware store (3 visits). Toilet is not secure (wobbly) and bathroom sink still leaks. I will have someone else fix the problems."

Cita was a great help during the planning and design part of the project, accompanying us to choose tile, cabinetry and hardware. We really appreciated their consistent attention to our budget. During the construction phase, and his team were a pleasure. They were professional, clean, courteous, and went out of their way to work around us. "The measurement team was right on time, and finished within the promised time. The installers were also right on time (within 2 minutes of appointment) and finished 2 hours earlier than promised. The countertops fit perfectly and appear flawless in workmanship and installation. The installers were so courteous, clean and neat, and they even swept up afterwards. I was amazed. When they left, it looked like the tops had been there forever, just clean. I had a question about faucet installation and called the shop later. My question was answered immediately. I cannot comment on their pricing-that's between them and Home Depot, but I would never hesitate to recommend as a direct contractor."
