"On the day the work was orginally scheduled, we had a sudden ice shower. So when the guys came to work on my chimney they decided to wait a few days due to the unsafe conditions.
The job took a half day longer than planned due to some unforseen complications. However, I was not charged anything extra for the unplanned work."

"We were very pleased with our experience with . They were very professional. The bid request was completed quickly and came in very competitively with the other bids we obtained. Once we settled with the company, we asked to come out again and we went over each wall to establish expectations. On the work day, the 9-man crew was there promptly at 8am and they worked until 4-5pm. They came back the following week to finish up some minor work on a chimney. After we inspected the work, we noticed a few missed spots and unstained bricks which did not surprise us since it was such a large job. After a quick call, they had someone out on the next workable day for an hour or two and tied up the loose ends. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a ."

" responded to my email inquiry immediately and was out to the house within a couple days to provide an estimate of making my chimney functional or putting a proper cap on to keep out the weather.
provided a thorough description of different options as well as an inspection. Upon inspection, he found that the chimney needed to be tuckpointed. I chose the tuckpointing and a cap rather than making my fireplace functional.
There was about a month wait until the crew came out. I was notified of the wait time and kept in communication about the upcoming schedule. They notified me of the day they would start and sure enough, they were on-time. After the tuckpointer started and got a few layers down, they found out the mortar on the chimney had deteriorated too bad for just a tuckpointing (90 year old house). The crew called the office and they were able to negotiate a cheaper alternative to the cap I had purchased and offered to tear down and rebuild my chimney stack for only $105 in addition to the previous quote. I thought this was fair so the crew stayed on and did a very good job rebuilding my chimney stack over the next 2 days.
Update 1: A few weeks later, there was a big rain and the chimney was leaking water worse than it had prior to the rebuild. I promptly notified Chimney Sweep and came out immediately. He inspected the chimney and said everything looked fine except the seal between the flashing and the brick was starting to ever so slightly separate (they only rebuilt down to the flashing)...he used a better seal and notified me that usually chimneys have crickets, so they'd write me a quote to build a cricket ($300) just in case that seal wasn't the issue.
After the next rain, the water was still leaking, I opted to accept the cricket bid and within a day was out installing the cricket. (extremely prompt)
After the next rain, the water was STILL leaking. Not knowing where the water was coming from, immediately came out and ran a camera up the chimney to inspect for water stains. Everything looked good, so then he ran water over the chimney. While he was running water over the chimney, I notified him that water was coming in! He quickly diagnosed that the concrete cap must not have accepted the sealant they applied after they rebuilt the chimney. After a couple days (the wet chimney needed to dry) they came out and applied another of sealant on the cap.
After the next rain, I watched very close, the leak was much better but there were still a couple drips. The day after the rain, contacted ME to find out how it held up under the rain. I was very impressed that he called ME to check, most contractors are not like this. I notified him it was better, but still had a couple drips. He mentioned they'd come out right away and apply another coat and if that didn't work they'd replace the cap.
As of now, I'm still waiting for another big rain to give it a good test. I'll update this report after it rains.
Even though this experience has been very frustrating, especially since the chimney was REBUILT...I am still very impressed by Chimney Sweep's (especially 's) communication, promptness and worksmanship...I understand sometimes crazy things happen (aka leak), but he doesn't appear to be willing to back down until the work is done right and the client is satisfied. Top notch contractor...still waiting to see if the leak is fixed though. Stay tuned...
Update: We finally had a big rain (3-4 inches) and I didn't notice any leakage. It looks like it's fixed!! Thanks, !"

"Requested an estimate for work to solve a leak that was occurring from around a chimney into the living space. of came out and survey my home. recommended new flashing around the chimney to solve the leak. I was guaranteed verbally that it would solve the leak. I made it very clear that the LEAK was the most important thing to me. For a bit more, they would also replace the roof with a 25 year shingle. The estimate was competitive--it was not the least expensive and it wasn't the most expensive. References checked out when I called later. I decided to move forward with the estimate and a installation date was scheduled.
The good news is that the new roof and flashing was completed the same day it was started. I left for work around 730 and the shingles were delivered to the house, and when I got home most of the roof appeared complete. It was a few hours more (it was dark outside) before the work was completed.
The bad news is that the leak was not fixed. Despite being "guaranteed" that new flashing and roof would solve the leak problem, it did not. Communicating with the company after being confronted with this fact was a mixed bag. At first, they seemed interested in solving the problem. They came by to inspect the quality of the work performed, they made sure the flashing was done properly, they even mortared part of the chimney when they believed it was the source of the leak. Unfortunately, they stopped being responsive when nothing solved the leak issue. Their next tactic was to blame other parts of the home: the gutters. Several gutter companies were consulted and their response was almost identical: the gutters are fine. The problem isn't the gutters.
When it was clear that the owner and owner and was no longer interested in dealing with this problem, I filed a small claims suit to recoup some of the expense spent on the failed leak work. However, efforts to serve Mr. or failed. In other words, they refused delivery of the certified letter sent from the court and efforts to serve him in person by a 3rd party failed. I was told by the special process server that Mr. is especially difficult to serve.
At this time, the lawsuit is still outstanding."

"Excellent experience. He always returned my calls promptly, he came for the estimate in a couple of days after first contact and gave me the estimate on the spot. He was able to do the repairs within only a few days of my calling to schedule the appointment. He was on time, very friendly and professional. He removed a bunch of refuse left on the roof by previous repairman and even took down an old satellite dish a previous owner had left. "

" came to my home, and did a very thorough investigation of what the job may entail. He came back to speak with me personally, and signed a contract with me that day. The work performed was timely, and excellent. It exceeded my expectations, and I made extra effort to keep his Trademark sign displayed on my front lawn."

"Was very fast and responsive in arranging the job. Efficient and went above and beyond on noticing several tiles on my roof that needed replacing. Replaced those as well. Reasonably priced compared to other bids."
