has a personal touch that you do not find at other daycare centers and she is very reasonable on price compared to other centers I contacted. We were so thankful to have found her, because as first time parents we were so reluctant to leave our baby with someone and now we are at ease with decision. "

He has made friends with other students in the neighborhood, the teachers, and really has already developed a love for school and learning with their guidance. I also appreciate the ''parenting'' classes Miss

"We took my infant daughter to the infant center of
Saint Louis Childcare Centers Provider Name Locked
when I went back to work. We pre-paid for 3 months of service and signed an agreement that stated with notice, we would be refunded if we were to withdraw her from care. After 4 days of leaving my daughter in their care, I was unhappy with the lack of child-centered care that was provided, and we decided to remove her from the care of

. Pumped breast milk was left unused and spoiled in her diaper bag and other specific instructions for her care were not followed. We gave the appropriate amount of notice and was told by the company's owner,

Family. I was recommended to her by
friends that took their children to her in home daycare. We met with her when I was 6 months pregnant
with my baby and decided the next month that we would bring our baby there when
I returned to work after my maternity leave.
Shortly after my baby was born in early December, I contacted her to
make sure we were still able to bring him at the end of January when I returned
to work. She said that this was fine and
requested a $100 deposit and the full first months tuition. She told me at that time that the way it
works is that we pay over a full month in advance for tuition. So, at the end of December, I paid $840 for
tuition for February plus the $100 deposit.
I then put another check in the mail for $735 at the end of January for
the month of March.
When we spoke in early December, Pat mentioned that she
would like me to bring the baby for a half day before his first full week to
get acquainted. I called her two weeks
before I was to go back to work to set this up.
I finally heard back from her Wednesday evening, two business days
before I was set to return to work. She
said that she was opening a second location and it wasn’t quite ready. She couldn’t take my baby for at least the
first week and she would let me know after that. While frustrated, I gave her the benefit of
the doubt because I had good referrals for her.
I ended up having to take my baby to back up care provided by my
husbands’ job. Needless to say, leaving
my baby for the first time with people I had never met was incredibly
stressful. Not to mention, the daycare
center that had room for him was nowhere near my work or home so I spent hours
commuting each day. I called Pat on
Thursday of the first week to find out if she was going to be able to take my
baby the following week. She told me no,
she still would not be able to. When I
expressed some frustration, she mentioned that she could possibly have one of
her coworkers come to my house to watch the baby until she was ready to take
him. She said she would talk to her and have her call me. I never heard from her or the coworker
regarding this and just pursued other options in the meantime. I called on Thursday of the second week (This
is now the middle of February when we were set to start on January 28th
and again she did not call me, but I had to call her) and she said that she
thought she would be able to take the baby part time starting in two
weeks. At that time I told her that we
were going to need to take our baby elsewhere for care because I needed full
time and she was not able to give me a time frame as to when he would be able
to come full time. The stress of the situation of starting back to work and
having a
Saint Louis Childcare Centers Provider Name Locked
was just too much and I needed something consistent as soon as
possible.
She then said she would give me a refund but she was not at
the time because she “had invested the money we paid in the plumbing issue at
her second location”. Needless to say
this really angered me seeing as I had given her about $1700 at this
point. She then said that she also was
not going to give me back the $100 deposit because we had decided not to send
our child to her. I told her that we
wanted to send him there but she was not able to provide the services. She then yelled into the phone “FINE THEN I
WILL PAY YOU!!” and hung up on me. My
husband called back and was able to get her to commit to paying us back (minus
the deposit) in two payments. She said
that she could pay us at the beginning of March and then at the beginning of
April. While this was still frustrating
because at this point we have found other care and are having to pay for that,
while she’s holding on to our money, we figured this was the only way we would
be refunded since she must not have the money at the time. She paid half of what she agreed to at the
beginning of March but then told us that her bookkeeper did not believe that we
had already paid as much as we had. We
had to get the receipts of the checks that we paid her and mailed them to her
before she would pay us the remaining amount.
We finally received the second half of what she agreed to on April 29th,
three months after my son was supposed to have started at her daycare.
During this process I spoke with people whose children were
attending the daycare and they informed me that the protocol was NOT to pay
over a month in advance. They all paid
just a few days before the following month.
I can only assume that she was needing money for the second location and
told me that that is how the payment worked.
Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend anyone to send their children
to her simply because of how she handled this situation. I was understanding of the fact that things
were happening with her second location but did not appreciate the way she
handled it or that she did not have the money we had paid her available before
we ever even used her services. That
said, the people I know who send their children to her say that she is
excellent with her children. Her lack of professionalism has completely
disgusted me.
Aside from the financial issue we had with her, she also was
not upfront with me about who would be watching my child. Since she was having two locations, there
would be different people at each one. Originally, we found her and wanted her to
watch our baby. She told me that she
likes to work with the babies and although my child would be at the second
location, she would be the one watching him.
However, she told someone else who goes there that her child would still
be at the original location and that she would be watching him. Obviously she
couldn’t be in both places at once so I’m not really sure who would have been
with my son.
As I mentioned, other people really like Pat and how she is
with their children. I just wanted to
give my experience so that potential parents
Saint Louis Childcare Centers Provider Name Locked
’t deal with the same issues
that I did with her.
