I tracked him down again, and he did a measure order. The installer was supposed to call within 48 hours to set up the measure. I didn't get a call, so I called

a few days later. After checking, they discovered that the installer was closed all week for vacation. They re-assigned the install, and two days later they called to set up the measure. It took a few days for the measurement to get to

. I went back, waited while the one salesperson on the floor taught a class on flooring install. When I finally got a quote on the carpet, the install was double what I expected. Turns out

has a minimum $280 install charge and doesn't disclose that when you ask for a measure of one room. I felt that they were deceptive. They had awful service, and I chose to purchase elsewhere."

"Empire sent two installers to complete my job. Empire has a reputation for providing a quote on one day and installing their product the next day, however, they can not guarantee a time of delivery. I work from home, so it was not a problem, but it may be for other people. My crew arrived later than hoped (about 2pm vs before noon). When I called to get an estimated delivery time, they explained that the job before me had run into a couple of problems (not Empire's fault, the wrong color carpet had been sent by the manufacturer and not realized until two rooms had been completed) and that they would arrive that afternoon. The job was completed quickly. The day after they left, I found that the padding had slipped on one of my stairs. I called Empire and they sent one of the original installers the next day to fix the problem. The carpet looks beautiful and the seams are very difficult to locate."
