COMPLAINT: Anne Munroe, Kirkwood, Mo.

"I hired Adam Perma Ceram/The Tub Doctor to strip and reglaze my tub, as well as sand and reglaze three tile walls surrounding the tub.

"The result was completely unsatisfactory. The tile and tub surfaces are rough; it appears that the surfaces weren't properly scraped or sanded prior to reglazing.

"In several places, the glaze is noticeably rippled as if it was too diluted to properly cling to the surface.

"The tub also has a clump of dried glazing, there are tiles that weren't sanded or glazed at all, and there's a sharp piece of glazed-over debris in the center of the tub.

"My tub is now dangerous to use, inferior in appearance and lacking in quality of workmanship.

"When I called about the unsatisfactory work, Erwin Adam, the owner, told me that the man who performed the work was no longer the owner.

"He said he wouldn't be held accountable or liable for a refund due to the poor quality of the work."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want $1,200, which includes an $800 refund for the inferior reglazing job and $400 for the cost of having it removed."

RESPONSE: Erwin Adam, owner, Adam Perma Ceram/The Tub Doctor

"I sold the business in 2008 to Mr. Jeremiah Reeves. I officially took back the business in 2009. This project was Mr. Reeve's last job under Adam Perma Ceram and he received the [customer's] full $800.

"I didn't receive one cent. He is liable for the work and I cannot redo an $800 job."
