"I sent this contractor a message through Angie's List on 3.4.14 and I have not heard any response as of 3.27.14. Usually contractors on Angies List are very responsive. This" is the first non-response I've ever had.

"Very mixed bag. The sample testing went well.
came and took the samples and had the tests done quickly and provided us with reports. He also sent us a contract" with several options for what they could do (moving furniture, removing carpet from stairs if there were tiles there, etc.). That part all worked well. Once we accepted the contract, however, things got miserable. I called to ask when the work could be done before signing the contract, because I wanted to coordinate with the carpet and tile folks that were going to come and
the new flooring once the asbestos tile was gone. I was told by phone that the next two weeks were busy, but could likely be worked in after than. This was late on a Friday. So I signed the contract and sent it back Monday morning asking for one of two days two weeks out (past the date I was told they were tied up). I was then contacted by the office manager (I can't remember her name now; I've blocked it out) and told that they were busy that week, too, but would be doing scheduling later that week. I didn't hear back later that week, so I called to ask when we were going to be scheduled. I got an annoyed response that they hadn't done the scheduling yet, but it would be two weeks out. Then more days of hearing nothing, so I called again, only to be told they hadn't done any scheduling and it would be another two weeks before they could schedule me. So I wrote back to the owner (
) and rescinded the contract. The price was fine, but the miserable time trying to get on the schedule made me doubt the attention to detail that they would follow when they were in our house removing asbestos from our basement. While I was lining up another provider (the second one never gave us a contract, even after promising one, and the third contractor never scheduled us -- even after I told them that I was having a miserable time getting scheduled with
, but the fourth time was finally a charm!), and after I had already told them I was rescinding the acceptance of the contract,
called back to say they could come the next day to take out the tiles. My cell phone cut out right after they said that they could come the next day, but they never called back to follow up. And since it was going to take 2 weeks to get the carpet ordered and installed, I wouldn't have wanted an unusable basement for 2 weeks. I'm guessing our job was too small to matter, so maybe if you have a really big job (piping insulation, furnace insulation and tile flooring) you'd get on the schedule. It befuddled me how hard it was to schedule us: you look at the calender, find the first empty date, and say, "We can come on XXX". If that is too far out for the customer, you offer to put them on a waiting list, or apologize and let them find a new provider. But to hang us on the hook for two weeks promising us to be scheduled but never following through, and sounding annoyed that we kept calling to ask to be scheduled, is inexcusable.

"After initially contacting
on a Monday, I was promptly put in touch with Bill. We set up a time for the next day when he could come by to take a look at my bathroom" and give me a quote. Bill was very friendly, professional, and prompt. He quoted me a number on the spot, which was in line with my (optimistic) expectations. Later that day, he called to schedule the abatement for Friday, knowing that I preferred to have the service performed before the weekend. Bill later called to politely ask if the abatement could be moved up to Thursday, which worked out well for me. When the scheduled service time came around,
arrived right on time. They quickly went to work removing the duct from the wall. They were finished after about only 2 1/2 hours. Afterwards,
explained to me all of the (many) precautions they took to prevent the asbestos from getting into the air and he retrieved an air sample to confirm this. They left the workspace cleaner than it was before they arrived, and took great care to clean any surface that asbestos fibers may have settled onto. Overall, the service was completed less than 3 days after contacting them. They exceeded or met my expectation on all points. Highly recommended.

asbestos siding

The name asbestos refers to a group of minerals composed of actinolite, amosite, anthophyllite, chrysotile, crocidolite and tremolite. Asbestos is useful for its strengthening, insulating and heat-resistant qualities. It was used in construction from the 1940s to the late 1970s, when its health risks became widely known.

Asbestos Removal reviews in Saint Louis

Professional. Owner,
Saint Louis Asbestos Disposal Provider Name Locked
, inspected and bid the job himself. Often such insulation is sealed and left in place, but I felt that their bid for its complete removal was reasonable and meant that here was a problem I would not have when the day came to sell the home. His crew was on time every day and quite friendly. They left an exquisitely clean site. High praises.

Saint Louis Asbestos Disposal Provider Name Locked
, Project Manager, was on time when scheduled with two crewmen (I'm sorry, I forget their names!). They were very polite, professional and efficient, completing the job in a day and a half when it was estimated for two days. They also did a great job of cleaning up after the job was completed and the price was well under what we expected to pay.

Worst company I have ever delt with. At first, they gave me their bid and replied to my inquiries while I was told the job was moving forward. They said they needed half their money. They drove out to pick up my check for half due (red flag). After that, I never heard from them. They wouldn't return my calls. The new receptionist was ''snippy.'' And, they let me down for 2 1/2 months! Finally, w/inner connections, they did the work! A warning...NEVER pay upfront, and NEVER expect this company to reply to you. Fortunately, in the end, they did the work (inner connections). Their price was tops (why we went w/them). But, they scared us so bad that we thought we were going to loose our investment($4850.00). When they removed our old house, their equipment broke down (not their fault), but again, we had to wait a day on them. I don't wish anyone ill will and hope they can make a drastic change - BUT it HAS to be DRAMATIC! Their inaptitude put building our home almost 3 months behind!

They quote, schedule, and perform work in a timely manner. It is a dirty job, but they leave projects clean on completion.

It went very well. They came out for the estimate the day after I called them. The estimate was $1800 which was very reasonable considering another estimate I received of $6500. The estimate was emailed to me the same day with a contract to sign. I signed it, got it back to them, and was contacted to make an appointment within a few days. The removal was scheduled for a week later at 8:00 AM. They showed up on time and were done before I got home from work. I am very satisfied with their promptness, professionalism, and price.
