"They’re excellent. The desk help is absolutely a wonderful and the reception people, who make appointments, are excellent too. Except one, all the techs" were excellent. I have had a couple of veterinarians and they are excellent as well.

-Beverly G.

"I believe the treatments worked to stabilize his knee so he was able to walk well until he died 3 years later, without further signs of pain. He was set back a" bit for a couple days after each treatment but then showed improvement. I wondered if the second injection was effective, since he didn't seem to be irritated afterwards, and didn't seem to be improved, but Dr insists it was correctly injected. Based on the response to the first treatment, I tried again and am satisfied with the overall results. After first exam, $55, cost was $160 per treatment, based on the dog's weight (70lbs). My dog got 4 treatments several weeks apart. I would use him for prolo therapy again.

Angie's Answers

?

Hi

The first answer is pretty thorough but I would like to add a few points.

First.. the type of food you are feeding your dog may be the key.  If you are using a food that is grain, rice or corn based in the first three ingredients, please change to a food that is meat or chicken based.  Many dogs are allergic to grain, rice, wheat and corn and these things are used as primary ingredients in many well known, name brand dog foods.  Secondly, all treats that have these ingredients should be cut out.  It takes weeks to months before a food change can show results so you must be patient.  Jumping from one food to another will be counter-productive.

Some dogs are so allergic to flea or other insect bites that one or two bites can cause a severe reaction.  Once the itching/scratching cycle begins, it is hard to stop it.  Benadryl is good but I suggest liquid form.  You can get it inexpensively at one of the dollar stores.  The pills take time to break down in the digestive system so you get better and faster results with the liquid. One tsp= 5cc and most dogs of average size can tolerate that much and more if the dog is a larger breed.

Allergy testing is very expensive and most dogs will test positive to some things.  That does not mean that the itching is coming from those things as many things in the environment can trigger positive test results.  Breaking the cycle of itching is primary and that can be done with prednisone ( short term and last resort after benadryl and bathing), allergy shots( same deal, last resort after easier methods).   This spring and summer have been particularly hard, weather-wise.

Good luck!

After you search for the company, you should get the "no results" page. Scroll down just a little bit, and you'll see a button and a link that say "Add this provider." Click on that to add them to the List! Thanks for the great question.
?
I'm really sorry! It looks like we made some site changes I hadn't noticed before and it made things just a little more confusing (for me, too!). We'll have to look into this to make it easier.
In the meantime, here's what you do:
1) Look for the Submit a Report button. It's yellow and on the right-hand side of the page.
2) Search for the animal cancer care clinic you're looking for. The search box should be inside a yellow bar.
3) You should see a list of potential matches, but on top of those, there should be "add a provider to the List" text in blue, which is where you'll click to get to the add page.

Let me know if you have any trouble. Sorry, again, for this being so confusing.

The last time I visited, they gave me advice at the front desk. They advised me to call Poison Control (since that is what they'd do anyway) to save myself $75. They are really, really neat people and so smart. They're expensive but they're available 24/7.

Their practical vet care is stellar. They also work with many specialists. I do see a specialty vet clinic for diagnostics. Parkway is communicative and the front desk staff know you by name or by voice. They work you in and are so much cheaper than other vets in the metro area.

Dr. and his team at the Queen Animal Clinic, part of SVA, is the finest vet I have ever known...and I have had alot of pets over my lifetime. He genuinely cares deeply about the animals and is highly knowledgable and competent. All team members are very caring and professional.

Dr. and her fellow partners are exceptionally caring, and their love of animals shows through every time we take one of our 2 cats and 2 dogs to see them. They are professional, courteous and the advice they've given us is spot on. I highly recommend them to anyone!

The surgery is not a one and it is expensive, so I was under a lot of stress. They were very supportive, answering all of my questions and making some helpful suggestions. The surgeon worked with my vet to help me decide the best course of treatment. They explained various payment plan options which made it easier for me to handle ...More the situation. I would not hesitate to refer my friends to them.

We have been taking all our cats to for years. They are wonderful! Many cats, many conditions. All the docs and all the staff are fabulous! We have sent a lot of folks there and would not consider using any other vet for them. We had to take one of out cats to a different emergency vet when he had a stroke. They wanted ...More us to do all sorts of neurological tests on him that were very expensive and would not have provided anything that would have improved his condition. A vet from , his primary care vet, called us and told us the truth about his condition. She gave us enough information that let us understand the emergency vets were just after money. All the vets at are caring, knowledgeable, and really love their patients. If you love your , this is THE best place to go!

Puppy diagnosed with Kennel Cough. Prescribed Clavamox, an antibiotic not usually efficacious for Kennel Cough, because they were out of doxycycline, the appropriate, fast acting antibiotic. As a result puppy's illness did not improve. He continued so ill for the next 7 days that he could only cough and sleep, thus completely missing a vital ...More learning/training week of his puppyhood. On day eight he was finally started on doxycycline. He became completely asymptomatic and went back to normal activities after only a day and a half. Doxycycline is a common generic antibiotic. When the vet saw that his clinic was out of it he should have called it in to any pharmacy. This veterinarian seemed unengaged, uninformative, and unresourceful. A second vet was not candid about the negligence of prescribing the wrong medication and the commonality of doxycycline.

Very friendly service, and extremely responsive follow-up. After boarding and any vet service, they follow up on the phone to check how my dog is doing, and if he is doing well at home. During boarding, they found a hotspot on his skin which they treated while he was at boarding, and are very good at following through on his history, despite several ...More hand-offs on his case between doctors.
Best techs I've ever met in the business. They are not the cheapest out there, but definitely makes me feel safe to have my pet in their care.
