Roofing Reviews in Seattle

and his son and two co-workers were great! From initial estimate to final cleanup, everything moved right along.
He had to deal with a heavily traveled street while loading the old roof in his truck, and he used a small truck in order to keep the disruption to a minimum. And he talked to the neighbor to make sure they weren't surprised by his presence on the roof.
As is often the case with roofs, there was some unobserved dry rot in the underlayment. He replaced that section at minimal extra cost.
He observed flaws from the previous roof, and made sure to correct those flaws before he installed new shingles. He's a fanatic about making sure there's adequate ventilation in the attic and rafters. He's an "old world" craftsman!
When I have another roof to do, I'll give
a call.

The roofing went great. They were kind, courteous and respected our property. They even went to bat for us with our insurance company as the replacement was due to a fallen tree.

Stout came and gave an estimate for the work. We discussed options either tearoff or roof over and for the roof over option how to deal with where the shingles meet the dormers and how to get flashing up behind the siding tiles. He suggested calking which I was ok with on the slopes but on the horizontal surface I wanted him to remove one (1) row of existing shingles to allow space to get flashing up behind the tile.

agreed to this. However, when his men arrived to do the job they had never heard of this and it was not the way they intended to do the roof. The result was me hanging out a second story window ripping old shingles off with my bare hands. Showing the guys what I wanted done. When they roofed over the skylight they did not build up the roof to the level of the existing roof before reroofing. The result was that my new roof looked like it was about to fall in.
In fairness, I have to say that when I complained to

, he came out and fixed to skylight area himself. Still it was frustrating having come to an agreement then telling the workers how I wanted it and then saying ok ok while doing it how they d*** well pleased. Removing 6 old shingles didn't seem like asking too much. The finished roof now looks good, hopefully it will keep out the rain for many years. Still, If I had it to do over again I would go with the smaller firm who's owner promised to be onsite during installation.

Everything worked out fine and I'm satisfied with new roof and gutters. There were a couple of things that had to be remedied after the initial work party left, however. (1) More clean-up was required. The guys doing the tear off used a leaf blower to clean up the roof and they didn't cover anything at ground level. Small pieces of debris went everywhere (in shrubbery, neighbors yard, etc..) A person came out after the job was done and did a much more thorough clean-up but prevention would have been better. Removing this stuff took many hours, even with our help. We still find small pieces as we work in the yard. I'd strongly recommend that you talk about clean-up and mess prevention in detail before the work starts. Also, I suggest that no leaf blowers be used on the roof. It just compounds the problem. On the other hand I think a home owner must assume that a small amount of debris will be left after any roofing job where tear off is included. I'm satisfied with their follow-up on this but prevention would have been better.
(2) A complicated area where two roofs come together wasn't done correctly.

sent another person out and he corrected the problem on the first work day following job completion. Very satisfied with their follow-up on this. t

If I had to do it over again, I would have stayed home to supervise the work. Since I couldn't be present because of my job, I observed from a distance as the crew arrived several hours later than promised, walked through garden beds, dropped tools on growing flowers, and were less than careful with my modest estate. They protected the building, but not the grounds. The actual roofing work is probably fine. I wouldn't know how to tell good work from bad. But, I have to trust that they did a quality job up above. They're certainly not the least expensive company out there. But, I was willing to pay a little extra for what I thought would be a higher level of professionalism. I don't feel like I got that. On the first day, I asked them to be extra careful backing their truck into my driveway because of the overhanging trees. But, I got home to find that their truck had stripped some bark and broken some branches. When I was asked for feedback at the end of the job, I provided a critique. But, I don't think my feedback was heard. I was given a small discount for the damage to my garden. But, I could not recommend this company to others who are looking for roofers. In the end, they asked me to give them "a good review" on Angie's List. But, I can only give an honest one.

is the company to go with if you want things done the way you want, and you want the work done right. 1. To start out,
Seattle Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
signed a contract in October and patiently waited for good weather in June because we had trouble with rain in previous contract work. 2. The contract was more specific than others regarding the work to be performed and how it would be performed. The standards seemed very high. 3. They had a chimney man on their staff that removed the old oil chimney which was getting old and beginning to leak and put in a gas chimney. 4. They told and showed me, damaged plywood roofing, that was not surprising because we had a previous contractor that did not do good work. 5. We had trouble with the gutter, because Pinnacle had forgotten we ordered Leaf Relief gutter protection. The Leaf Relief was done as an add on. I had previously paid off the contract and Pinnacle could have walked away having done a job better than most contractors. But

, knew I was not 100% satisfied, He came over looked over the work, and they ended up totally reworking the gutters to my 100% satisfaction.

The roof replacement at my home...Well, I am very pleased and satisfied with the overall appearance of the entire job. Very cooperative and skilled which shows in their work. I really appreciate their dedication as they encountered the difficult job of removing a couple layers of shingle roofing from my home which was 60 years old!. Totally removed all evidence of debris. They politely handled additional repair details...which added to my total satisfaction! This was a much better situation, than the last contractor who took my deposit without repairing my roof.

FANTASTIC! Unlike most other roofers I tried to get quotes/bids from, Valentine always called when they said they would, they were always courteous and professional, their prices were very fair - one contractor estimated my roof would cost $75k or more, another roofer bid $54k, but Valentine bid $20k - and they finished ahead of schedule. Seriously, I can't recommend them highly enough.

The crew lived up to the highest expectations that others had spoken about. Highly motivated/dedicated. I couldnt believe how polite and professional everyone was. Favorably impressed by all of them! Level of quality and attention to detail, in one word....outstanding!

looked inside the house to locate the approximate room of the leak. He then got his ladder from his truck and went up on the roof. After a short inspection, he determined that a shingle had come up and the nail was missing and that was where the leak was located. He then caulked that shingle into place, checked the surrounding area for other problems and came down. He said that my roof was in good shape and I really didn't need a new roof. When I requested a bill he said No charge. Gave me a couple of hints as to how to eliminate moss on my roof thanked me and left.
