Home Remodeling Reviews in Seattle

Initial contact was great, office manager scheduled first appointment, sent a confirmation email (great!) and all necessary contact and licensing info. Day of the appointment, a Thursday, got a call-
's truck had broken down 30 minutes before we were to meet. I was told someone would call me back later that day. Wednesday the next week I still hadn't received a call so I tried the office. Spoke with
. She apologized, said it had slipped her mind then we rescheduled for the following week on Wed (11 days after initial appointment).
The day before this 2nd appointment, I was asked to reschedule. I responded with some options that worked for me since the suggested time didn't. I got no confirmation on the new time and had to contact the office again. Didn't get a response until 30 minutes before the original appointment and was told that there was a lot of schedule shuffle and that a confirmation had slipped through. I decided I was done.
In summary: I can't speak to the quality of their actual work, but I do know that good communication and reliability is an important part of any relationship. I can understand if they're too busy to take new work, but please just state that upfront and don't string me along.

forgot about us the first appointment - we cancelled and rescheduled the second. When he arrived on the 3rd try, he spent literally 10 minutes in the house getting the information to provide a quote. We needed an all-brick fireplace removed and the wall repaired, a 1st floor window removed with a new ventless gas fireplace inserted in the spot of the removed window. Repair of ceiling drywall and insertion of the removed window into the guest bedroom.
For this - he wanted to charge us $34,900.00 plus tax. This did not include painting.
He came to the house and it was obvious he was in a hurry, and not interested in doing the actual work we requested. His bid was more than twice as high as anyone else - which confirmed our initial feeling that he was not wanting to earn our business,.
If these are the type of "A" quality providers endorsed on Angie's List - we are discontinuing our membership as this is the 4th time we have been shocked at the behavior, pricing and treatment we've received by Angie's List providers.

Very responsive outfit that hires great subcontractors. Tilework was challenging but installer delivered exactly the look we wanted. Our old beat up and stained oak floors are now gorgeous. Old cracked lath and plaster ceiling is flawless. New doors hung on warped doorways & look straight. The few unexpected issues (as you expect in the remodel of an old home) were dealt with quickly and resolved easily. Subcontractors did some damage to floors in kitchen.

stepped right up and made it right. Our point person was professional, responsive --- got back to us generally within a day of leaving a message. Took a little longer than predicted, but we expected that. Quality work isn't cheap, but overall the end product & excellent service was worth it.

's professionalism is exceptional. They arranged weekly meetings to discuss progress, difficulties and necessary decision-making. This was critical given our distance from the building. Every member of their team was friendly and knowledgeable. We got weekly billing updates and lots of pictures to help us monitor the project. They coordinated all the scheduling and subs and we ended up with a finished product that we love. Recently, another tenant has given notice so we will rehab this second unit and

's was the first contractor we called. They responded immediately and we are already in the design phase of our next project.

and Antolly were very professional and helpful. I decided to go with another GC company because they offered a better schedule. However, I would have been just as comfortable handing N&R the project.
Through the course of the planning, they provided multiple bids, walked through many nuances of choices and options. All the while they were more punctual and far more detailed than many other contractors I was getting bids from.
Anatolly walked me through a remodel he was working on and the craftsmanship is fantastic. I think the quality of finished work is probably the best thing about N&R. Anatolly is a hands on builder and craftsman and takes pride in his work. He is also extremely forthcoming on costs and options to keep a project in budget.

They were outstanding. Not only did they bring an high level of quality to each element of the project but they were very easy to work with. * They stayed within budget and were always clear about “the numbers” and how much were spending on each stage. * During several parts of the process we pivoted to a different design choice and Nest had no problem changing their approach and collaborating with us on an appropriate solution. * Even when they used subcontractors (paint, drywall, etc), they are always heavily involved and were always present! We never had to worry about a thing. We will be using them again on our next project.

Overall they did a good job, we were impacted by some weather related delays (that were out of control of

I found
Seattle Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
's through my insurance and thought it might be easier to hire a general contractor than deal with hiring individuals to do all the separate pieces of this job. I was wrong. Next time, I'll hire individuals. Apparently, these companies pay to be on a list that the insurance company gives out to it's customers. After my experience, I have to assume the insurance does not vet the companies first.
The site manager communicated very poorly, and this caused a lot of stress in itself. Secondly, for many steps of the job, I had to perform quality control--the manager did not perform that function. For example, the first carpenter assigned to install the molding was not a finish carpenter and had trouble with curved cuts. He also invented a corner style that did not match the rest of the house. The painter wanted to fix the carpenter's mistakes with caulk and paint. He became quite angry when I suggested otherwise. I had to ask that a finish carpenter redo the work, and that they send another painter (which they did, and the second painter was careful). I had the feeling
Seattle Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
's just wanted it done as quickly and cheaply as possible, and hoped you wouldn't notice any mistakes.
Ultimately, because I was on them every step of the way, the work got done and it was acceptable. On the final invoice, they included a charge for taking out the dishwasher and then reinstalling it ($267). The dishwasher was never moved, at my request. This could have been a

error, but the company was nonresponsive after several inquiries. I had to call my insurance to have the matter taken care of. The site manager should have monitored the work of the subcontractors. The whole process which should have taken a month at most, took about several months. I would characterize it as miserable.

Siding torn off 1982 home and replaced with new weather breaker under siding. We really appreciated the attention to detail that the company gave to us. We understood that they were not the cheapest company but they were not our most expensive bid either. We wanted the price to be fair although we did not want to sacrifice quality and we felt that

We were trying to decide to go with either trex or a hardwood that we saw at the homeshow. After seing the pictures of the work that

did we decided to go with a Ironwood. What a great look. the guys did a great job. the crew was polite and very efficient. We paid about $35,000 for a second level deck that was 350 sq ft. we will definitely be using
