"It took them 14 months to do what I understand should have been a 2-3
month job. (You can bulid an entire house from scratch in 3 weeks.)
The first 2 people who contacted me as the "project manager" said they'd
go visit the house and get back to me within 2-3 days. I never heard
from either again. It was March 26, 2010 before I heard from anyone
actually planning to do anything--more than 4 months after the fire.
Two weeks later, their kitchen redo was so uninspired that I hired a
designer to redo the kitchen, so there was subsequently some delay on my
part--6 weeks. They were given detailed plans 6 weeks later. It then
took them another 2 months to begin work, then 5 months to complete it.
It turned out the (nice) kid who was "project manager" had something like 9 other jobs underway.
This company made no attempt to keep me informed, never provided a time
line for the project, and often failed to respond to either telephone
calls or email. They also lied to my insurance adjuster, saying they
were "on time" and would be finished by mid- , resulting in my
housing allowance being terminated at that time. They had not begun
working by mid- , and did not finish the project until near the end
of January 2011.
I recommend YOU AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!"

"Easily the low bidder on the project. Completed it on schedule and on budget. Only problem is safety. He left demolition materials in a pile in the work area, did not safe the nails in the demolished studs, and almost cut off one of his fingers! Work was good quality, thought, both rough and finish. Should prime the sheetrock before applying texture, though. Right on top of the invoicing and always in contact, too. Good to work with. Very happy with the job."

"We shopped around quotes with other contractors, and Co was affordable and by far the most responsive to our request. Other contractors did not respond promptly to follow up quotes and questions that we gave them.
Lots of concrete drilling was needed since one side of our room didn't have dry wall. Due to an error in communication from our building manager in noisy work, we had to shift the work to after hours. and Co were very responsive and accommodating of changes in our work order and dealing with unforeseen roadblocks. I would definitely use them again!"

"It was a great experience. We have lived in the space since it was added. There is not anything we would change. , is friendly, competent, knows his stuff, has a great sense of humor, and has reasonable rates. They were very dependable, as were their subcontractors. They were very considerate seeing that it was a live in remodel and we had young children at the time. They made it as easy as possible. "

"The experience was excellent. They know exactly what needs to get done and how to schedule everything so there's no time waiting around.
It started by getting a bid, which was emailed to me promptly. Followed up with a phone call to review any questions. After taking some time to decide, I called them back and we scheduled a date to start. They were there on day 1 and DID NOT MISS A SINGLE DAY for the duration of the project. (this is incredible for anyone who has ever done remodeling before)
During the basement remodel, they made a recommendation to my plans to move the bedroom door. Doing this increased closet space and just made overall sense to the flow of the entire floorplan. I am definitely happy still about that!
They wrapped up the jobs, cleaned up and that was it - no hassles, no surprises. The bill was EXACTLY what they quoted. When my next project comes up, it is very comforting to know I have a company I can count on.

"I love the railing it adds so much character to my house. I only wish that they had offered me more glass options. There were obscure glass possibilities out there at the time but all the local rail companies insisted that they did not have them. .Either they are lazy or rigid? I could not get obscure glass"

"We chose this contractor after receiving bids from 5 general contractors; ' bid was the second-lowest and was presented as a guaranteed not-to-exceed price. Definitely competitive. The employees on-site were great; very personable and communicative. When we wanted to make a change to the agreed upon plans, the change order process was straight forward and worked with us to quickly execute it. The project came in 4% under budget and only a week late -- both wonderful things in the construction business.
Unfortunately quality turned out to have been sacrificed. The newly poured concrete slab was not level by almost a full inch (over less than 4 feet); hired a subcontractor to pour a full on top at no charge to us -- not great but a suitable repair. The Tyvek home wrap was installed incorrectly per the siding subcontractor we hired independently to do the siding. We did not bother to bring up this issue with after our experiences dealing with the third issue: the water leak in the newly poured foundation. We had an existing basement which has no water leaks. The house was constructed in 1912 and does not leak water. The new addition, constructed in 2010, was shooting water out of the concrete wall after 3 days of November rain. In at least 3 other places water was seeping out of the wall.
The reason for the water leakage was that never installed the drainage pipes which were in the plans and actually ordered (and delivered) on-site. When I asked at the time, the lead carpenter informed me his boss said they wouldn't be necessary for such a small addition (wrong!). Now when I ask, I'm told that wasn't able to hook up the drainage pipes to the sewer without incurring further cost due to additional excavation so they decided not to install the pipes without discussing any options or alternatives with us. I have complained that the foundation should not leak, but they now want about $3,000 re-excavate and install drainage pipes. This is something that should have been done before framing even began and at the very least we should have been informed of our options and that would want more money to perform excavation to connect the drainage to the sewer system.
Modern construction should not leak. skimped on quality and did not communicate options when difficulties in the project arose, leading to a situation we do not want to be in. I would not hire this company again, despite their competitive pricing."

"I hear people tell horror stories about their remodeling projects, but all of mine have been very pleasant, and the results are better than I imagined. knows how to plan a complex project so that it progresses smoothly from start to finish. He uses a plumber, electrician, and occasionally other specialized sub-contractors whom he knows well and whose quality and integrity he can vouch for. Even so, he is always on the job site, making sure that everyone is on the same page and that everything is going as expected. He puts in a full day's work and keeps the homeowner apprised of how things are going. When something unexpected comes up--an inevitability when remodeling an older house that has been remodeled previously--he explains exactly what the situation is and what the options for handling it are. I especially appreciate the fact that he has a calm, pleasant, cheerful personality--no temper, no drama. I have found him to be completely trustworthy; he stands behind his work and takes the time to get things right. For example, while he was working on my living room expansion, he had to blend a new section of wall into an existing wall. He felt that his initial finish wasn't up to his standard, so he redid the texturing--without being asked--just to make sure that it met his personal standard of quality. In the seven years that has been doing remodeling projects for me, I have recommended him to a number of friends and co-workers--and a few total strangers--and they have all been very happy with the work he has done for them."

"Fantastic experience! We used after seeing their work in the neighborhood ( /Greenlake). and were awesome- always punctual, easy to work with, super clean, flexible, trust worthy. The price was fair and in line with their original estimate. They managed their subs well and treated our home with care and respect. Would refer them to anyone else and will use them for future work on our home."

"It went fantastic! We bonded with immediately. He is such a great guy and genuinely cares about his work and his client's happiness. We have a 1945 cape cod style home that had a very outdated and oddly shaped kitchen, and a bathroom with rotting drywall and a full size window in the shower (God knows why). gave us the bid for labor only and gave us an estimate on material costs. We worked it out to be exactly to our budget. We liked paying for materials separately because it allowed us to control costs and not pay any -up a contractor may have added. Once we accepted bid he and his guys were able to start within 10 days or so. Project Start: Like most projects, the demo went quickly. His guys were extremely clean and took great care to make sure dust was contained within the confines of the kitchen and bathroom. They put up plastic sheets and had an industrial air purifier to help with the dust. They had a large trailer in the driveway to haul away all the debris (which there was plenty of). Middle of Project: During the project the work went smoothly and communicated well at each phase. As with all projects like this you find a few surprises. For us these were minimal and was always willing to ensure what needed to be done was taken care of the right way. As we were discussing ways to make the kitchen as efficient and spacious as possible, we decided to expand the entryway to be wider than it was originally. During this process found that the beam spanning the boundary between the kitchen and living room would need some additional support to ensure it was safe. Many contractors would have simply glossed over this and done what was cheap and easy. does it the right way, even if it slows down the project. End of Project: Wow! What an amazing new kitchen and bathroom we have. We are so thrilled with the space created for us. Almost 1 year after the job was completed we couldn't be happier with our kitchen. It is beautiful! And the scrap pile on the patio was cleaned up so well you couldn't even tell it was ever there. We LOVE the remodel! It's not often people hug their contractor, but both my wife and I gave a hearty hug at the end of this project. We will definitely call for our next project!"
