Shoulder Care reviews in Seattle

I had been told by two doctors that I couldn't possibly have a rotator cuff tear -- I had too much strength and not enough pain to indicate a tear. However, after four months of treating my shoulder for impingement with no results, I visited Dr. Belfie.

In our initial consult, Dr. Belfie was patient and friendly. He talked to me about treatment, used both my x-rays and his model shoulder to fully explain all the variables, and answered all the questions I had. I never felt rushed, and I never felt like he was pushing surgery. (In fact, he discouraged surgery unless absolutely necessary, citing the very long and difficult recovery process.)

After an MRI revealed my tear, Dr. Belfie again spent as long as I wanted discussing treatment options, and cautioning me against making a decision on surgery too hastily. He warned me in very detailed terms that recovery would be burdensome and that failure to adhere to physical therapy and immobilizaiton guidelines would jeopardize recovery and increase the risk of reinjury.

team went out of their way to make me comfortable during the surgical process. Dr. Belfie met with my wife and me before surgery, and then with my wife after surgery (so she tells me). He took digital photos of my surgical site at varying stages of the surgery, and he talked it through with my wife. (We got to keep the photos.) Once I awakened, I had plenty of time to ask any questions.

In each of my follow up appointments, Dr. Belfie has been patient, caring, and informative. He listens well and provides thorough information in response to all my questions. I couldn't be more satisfied with my care, and I recommend Dr. Belfie without reservation.

My surgery went as good as could be. There were no problems during the surgery or after, outside of the pain associated with having a major surgery. Dr.

told me that I would be back out on the volleyball court within about 8-10 months. Between the surgery and the excellent physcial therapy I had, I was back out playing lightly within 4 months and back to swinging 100% without fear of my shoulder getting damaged within 6 months. It has now been a year and my shoulder is 100% and I have no regrets.
