" came highly recommended from some experienced friends in ,
including one whose husband is a contractor. They had hired him to do
all kinds of masonry work and were very impressed.
I needed help
because my chimney and south wall leaked terribly during last winter's
monsoon(s). I couldn't have asked for anything more! and his crew
were lovely to work with, the price was very fair, and the repair work
itself is excellent -- top notch, in fact.
Masonry is such highly
skilled and specialized work that experience really matters. has
been doing this for decades and really knows his stuff. If you have a
leaky old brick house like I did, then the "brick doctor" is your
man!"

"Our roof was leaking around the chimney. tuckpointed the joints, installed new flashing and a new crown on our chimney. Three or four days after the work was completed, our roof began leaking several feet away from the chimney. Because it was Sunday evening and pouring down rain and I didn't think it was coming from the chimney, we called a roofing company that does emergency appointments. Apparently, the new flashing was not sealed properly and the water was leaking in through the silicone caulking. In addition, the new cap had not sat under a cover long enough and was still wet. The roofers scraped off the caulking applied by and said that if the cap did not cure by the end of summer, they would come back, scrape it off, and re-apply it properly. When I mentioned this on the phone to the folks, they ignored me and explained how I could pay my bill. I will never allow these people within 100 feet of my roof again."

"Bill was very honest and strait forward he said both my fire places and my chimney where ok and didn't need repair. He also took a look at the brick on the exterior of the house and gave me a few pointers on care for the brick and grout."

"We cannot recommend Doneen highly enough. Over the last two years since we bought our house, we have worked with many contractors, and none has surpassed 's focus on quality or his pleasant, professional attitude and regular communication. (That's why I'm writing this Angie's List review--now that we've joined, I want to make sure other homeowners are aware of how great is!) 's mortar work has only grown more beautiful with the changing of the seasons. When my father, a Midwestern construction manager who has supervised tuckpointing projects for decades, came to visit for the first time last fall, the first thing he said was how impressed he was with the quality of our mortar work! ?You found a true craftsman,? he remarked.
We appreciated ?s strong work ethic and ability to accommodate our schedule?even when it changed?and his willingness to work as many hours as necessary to complete the project on time. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when he told us that his first batch of mortar had been improperly colored by his supplier and that he had already begun to re-grind and re- the first section of our house. Given our lack of expertise about tuckpointing, it would have been easy for him to convince us that the darker coloration was standard, particularly when this setback caused him to incur additional expenses and work weekends to make up time. It is not often that we encounter contractors with such a high level of professional integrity and the willingness to back it up with hard work.
Both my husband and I were a little concerned at the start of construction that a tuckpointing project of this size would create a significant mess and harm our landscaping, but went to great lengths to keep the area clean and protect the plants around our home. After his work ended, we were left with a clean, beautiful home and yard. Even our neighbors still speak of him fondly. At the start of the project, he introduced himself to each of them and told them about his work and commitment to minimizing its impact. Then he kept his word?even washing the dust off their cars! ?s regular, friendly communication with our neighbors and his efforts to keep the area clean permanently placed him?and us?in their good .
If we ever need additional tuckpointing work, we will go straight to . We would unequivocally recommend them for a tuckpointing project of any size."

"I like Angie's list and rely on it for many services. I read other customer's reviews before I choose a company for an estimate. When I see an F grade for a company I always read the review and if it is just that they were a no show for an estimate I usually ignore those reviews. I vowed I would not be one of those people but now I am breaking my promise to let you know about my experience with with .
One week ago I scheduled an appointment for an estimate to have my chimney pointed and a new cap installed. I read the reviews for the company and was excited to work with someone that valued the customer, was resonable in cost and performed good work. The appointment was for this morning between 9 and 10. My husband and I both work so I took time off to wait for the technician. At 10:15 I could not wait any longer and called on my way into work. They were unapologetic and simply stated that the technician should have called to say he was running late. I asked them if I could reschedule the appointment for a time that was convenient for me. She said that the times I requested (before 8am and after 530pm) were outside her scheduling ability. I asked her that if she wasn't willing to accomodate my schedule then was she even interested in my business. She said "apparently not." I will not work with this company and encourage you to think twice before you do. I will work with a company respects me as much as I respect them."

"Very well. and his crew were very professional and tidy. The chimney looks great! They were very careful not to damage the roofline and siding they utilized to get up to the roof."

"His personality is great. The work we saw in photos for others looked great, however our job turned out medicore. We purchased the bricks for him to use. He went up 2-3 bricks higher than we originally discussed. When I suggested a different technique for applying the bricks, he said, "Well, you're paying me. You can me for another hour to do it that way." My husband ended up lowering the wall, as it was too tall. He was considerate in allowing us to borrow one of his tools for a separate project. He gave us a lower price if we chose to pay cash, and the price of $60 for writing a check. "

"Bill and his employee repaired the masonry on my chimney. They were prompt and the work was done to my satisfaction. Later in the summer I asked Bill to repair and point my garage. He and his employee also put a covering on my garage and painted it with a reflective paint. This job was not done with as much care as the chimney but it was satisfactory. It might have been better if Bill was around each day to check in with me about the work his employee was doing. If I asked him to fix something I didn't like, he was very cooperative. He also referred a friend to me that did a great job on my fence and deck. I would definitely use Bill again."

"After a full house restoration and similar door installation last summer, I knew I wanted for this new project. When I spoke with in December, the work was scheduled for May. In the end, because the scope of this project was smaller and their previous job had finished a little earlier than anticipated, they were able to fit me in during March. While there were a few shortened days due to very wet and windy weather, the project was completed in less than a week. The crew is very professional - skilled, hardworking, punctual and tidy. They worked with the framing contractor to coordinate the timing of the actual door installation, and communicated well with me throughout the process. In addition, is a perfectionist, even tearing out and redoing a finished portion when he felt that the reclaimed bricks used were not up to his standard. As I expected, the completed work is outstanding. The new door, including a contrast color brick edging, looks original, and the location of the former window would be very difficult to detect. I'm very happy with the results."

"She assisted in reviewing the landscape contractors with me when I was deciding which one to select for the job. This was very helpful. During the course of the project, she spent many hours emailing back and forth as the job unfolded to keep the project moving smoothly. She brought a lot of energy to the project and had a number of fun/unusual designs. She made lists of problems and followed up on them until they were resolved. She was also flexible with the design and changed elements as the project demanded. is a very visual person who best grasps a concept when she can see a model/drawing of it. The end result of all the work is quite beautiful with all of the details coming together nicely.
As with any project, there were problems along the way. A number of these problems centered on communication. spent the extra time to clarify these issues and make the job details as clear as possible. Sometimes multiple reviews of certain project elements were necessary.
does not typically automatically redraw plans to indicate changes that have been made on the original plans after the project is bid. If additional drawings are requested, she will do them on an as requested basis either from the client or the contractor. Otherwise, change orders are expected to be noted by the contractor on the old plans. If significant changes are made to the plans, it then becomes important to make sure that the new designs are clearly communicated to every subcontractor. A mechanism for dealing with these changes should be discussed early on. Resolving these discrepancies later can become a problem when each person has a different set of plans."
