"The time never worked, the lights kept flashing on and off. Since the installation in the back, we have been without backyard lighting. If we wanted the lights on in the backyard, we had to manually turn them on. Everytime they have come out, they send us an exorbitant amount for things they didnt do, but never take the time to fix the things that ...more needed to be fixed. They charged us 3 times what the job was worth. They put in more than twice the number of sprinkler heads that were needed, and used the cheapest material so we had leaks. We had another company come to fix their mistake and the heads will eventually have to be dug up. We have water spraying in the basement which can cause rot. We had another company come to dig up the leaks and they charged us a great rate. Each time the work was not completed to my satisfaction, or not completed at all. The woman who answered said we owed a bunch of money, which we had paid in full. Automatic said they were not going to do fall maintanence or turn off the sprinkler system unless I paid (which I already did). We only asked that the company come out and fix what was wrong, or tell us what was wrong, so that the next company could fix it and know what was going on. A few years later, someone from Automatic came to the house to fix what I had complained a few years ago. He never went into the backyard and said they didn?t have time to fix any of the issues. The man showed us a spreadsheet of work he had done with other people previously that day, and he had gone to more than 40 places in less than 3 hours. He was at my house for less than 5 minutes, wouldn?t do anything, and wasn?t told anything about the situation. Apparentlty he came back a second time-we received a call from the woman in the office. She said the person had examined everything?which he didn?t, and said it would take 6-8 weeks for them to get the correct materials in. I told her I wasn?t going to keep their business. Since then, they have been seen on my property without my consent taking pictures. "

If additional drawings are requested, she will do them on an as requested basis either from the client or the contractor. Otherwise, change orders are expected to be noted by the contractor on the old plans. If significant changes are made to the plans, it then becomes important to make sure that the new designs are clearly communicated to every subcontractor. A mechanism for dealing with these changes should be discussed early on. Resolving these discrepancies later can become a problem when each person has a different set of plans."

"I called and requested Bill come to evaluate the present system and give me an estimate to bring it up to a good working standard. He came within a day, showed up on time, and was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He walked over every inch of my property, explained what was wrong with the existing ...more systems and what it would take to make them work. He understood the concerns I had. He suggested several ways to design the system and options I wouldn't have known to ask about. He gave me a bid by email the next day, Saturday, it was much more reasonable than I had thought and I called him on Monday and told him to go ahead. His crew started on Tuesday and by Wednesday evening they were done. Bill came to walk around the property with me a few days later and made sure it was all how I wanted it. They did an excellent job, the watering system I have now is so much better than I even thought it could be. They found some pretty poor workmanship when they looked at the valves and when they dug up some of the pre existing pipes and they fixed it all for me and didn't charge me any more than the initial bid. Bill said he made an executive decision to fix it then and there and make it work, instead of calling me to ask me if I wanted to spend an extra thousand dollars to upgrade the system even more. Bill also told me that I can get a rebate from the city of Seattle for a new up to date control box which will work much better than what I have, and save me money because it monitors the watering system needs for rainy days and shorter fall days. They also were careful to make sure that my elderly Scottish Terrier didn't slip out either of the garden gates, they cleaned up after themselves, and put the plants back that they had to dig up to install the water pipe. "

"Had to call a few times, but when the estimator came out he was very knowledgeable, and did some immediate repairs to get things working. Also gave great water conservation advice. Getting the pipes capped and dug up had to be rescheduled, and took some prompting to get done. Later also came by for winterizing the system. Reasonable pricing."

"Service men were punctual and polite. All my questions were answered. When I received my bill in the mail, it was about $25-30 higher than the estimate I was given over the phone. When I called to question the difference, the response was, "Our goof. Tear up that invoice. We will send you a new bill with the estimate you were given."
