"Everyone at this company was extremely friendly and accommodating, from the booking to the maintenance visit itself.
came out to the house and spent over 1 1/2" hours thoroughly investigating the entire system and walking me through what everything was and how to use it. It went above and beyond and was greatly appreciated. I have no doubt that if I have questions in the future they will happily walk me through them. A+ service.

"I have my house set up for automatic refills from
and it has worked out really well. I have never been bothered by a service representative from them. They" come and fill my oil tank and leave a bill on the door step for me. They included a free furnace check when I signed on for their service, as well as a $50 credit on my account. They have minimal finance charges if you pay your oil bill off over time ($7 per month), which I appreciate. Filling up a several hundred
tank can get very expensive. My last fill up had oil at 4.19/

crew was very prompt and friendly. The entire process of removing the old unit, cleaning the ducts throughout the house, fabricating new sheetmetal ducts" and flue pipe to connect to the new furnace, and installing the new unit itself was very smooth and took less than a day. Everything was done in a neat, professional way. Thoughtful details included programming our new therostat to match our old settings for us, and walking through the new unit's operation. It was evident that the company cared about our business when their VP/GM stopped by to check in on the progress and thank us for our business. All in all it was great experience.

When you get that tune-up on your heating system, ask for a report that states the efficiency of the system and tells you whether the system needs repairs, says Chretien (Photo courtesy of Mass Energy)

Should I replace my current heating system?

Now that both oil and gas have risen in price and heating systems have become so much more efficient, it's wise to consider different replacement options.

Even when a fuel oil tank has been pumped, about 5-10 gallons of sludge and oil will remain in the tank after pumping, says Gorman. (Photo courtesy of Timothy Gorman Contractor)

Even supposedly empty fuel oil tanks are a risk for oil leaks and spills. Avoid costly cleanup and have your fuel oil tank removed by an experienced contractor.

Heating Oil reviews in Seattle

These guys seem pretty good. They didn't charge me for my first service visit provided I would buy their annual service contract, which was nice. The repairman was also quite informative on how the furnace works and what to watch out for. He got it running to 78% efficiency, which is good by most forced oil heating standards. He did his job when he was scheduled and in a timely manner. They also filled up my tank, but only after I called them twice and scheduled them twice to do it. They also called to automatically fill up my tank, but didn't do so without my approval first. Oil is an expensive way to heat your house here in Seattle, but it can be cheaper than firewood. My strong recommendation is that if you have to heat your house with oil, first spend money on good attic insulation, window and door weather stripping, close off unused rooms, get drapes for windows and put plastic sheeting over single pane windows, and get a programmable thermostat . Only use the oil to heat up your place initially and then keep some quiet electric space heaters to keep selected rooms warm. This will drastically cut down your heating bills.

They took over from the company I was using, and so I just went with them. We have been using them for about 20 years now and have been satisfied with their service. I have an annual contract with them, and so it doesn’t cost me anything when they come out to service the furnace. I think that their price is fair. I would rate them highly and would continue to use them in the future.

We had it set up to have monthly deliveries only on call as needed. Instead they waited until the oil prices hit the high point, came and filled the tank (more than ever before) and refused to pump out when asked.

I'm quite grateful to

as they came out within a day of my initial call to make sure that my heater was working. The sales manager took his time making sure I understood the introductory package and how their billing works.
I'm not the biggest fan of having my oil tank filled automatically, because I don't use my heat very much so I'd rather be able to control when I want the expense of heating oil, but there is a HUGE measure of peace knowing that I'm not going to be really low on a day when it is freezing outside.
They have a great package where you can choose between 4 "deals" if you sign up to be a customer with auto-delivery - and still no contract required. They estimate your usage through their computer and deliver oil when they determine that you need more. I suspect that this only occurs when your prior bill is paid off, because I didn't get a 2nd delivery until about a week after I paid off the first balance early. I feel bad for them, their estimates will be way off because I don't keep my heat up very high. I put a sweater on when I'm cold!
Their new customer deals were not only better deals, but they "fit" more with what I wanted then the "deals" that were being offered by their competitor Rossoe (who it appears was the previous service & oil provider for my furnace).
I believe the deals are (you get to choose 3 of the 4): 1) a certain amount of free oil on your first fill-up, 2) a free digital thermostat, 3) a year's service warranty on your furnace including a free tune-up, 4) additional tank replacement insurance (in addition to PLIA). Since I already had installed a digital thermostat, they rest were easy choices and I priced out what they would cost after the first "free" year and it is totally worth it in comparison with their competitor's prices.
All in all, I've been very satisfied with the experience from

Servicing session went well. The technician was professional and courteous. He gave great tips and future servicing advise that was appreciated.
Heating oil pricing is no longer competitive, and the annual service contract is pricey. Gets very expensive when one factors-in the fact that the furnace isn't serviced annually (every few years) since it works efficiently, and I personally change out the furnace filter element yearly. Looking back on the total costs of the annual service contract makes it not a good choice regarding value and balances of costs when it's a requirement of delivery of the heating oil.
Unless that changes, I can no longer recommend

took over our contract when they bought the company we'd had a contract with for many years. Today they filled our fuel tank and it seemed expensive. We had no experience with them, so we called to ask about the price. They were very helpful, agreed on a discount which they didn't have to do. The information that we were given made sense & the person took time to answer questions. We were very pleased.

They are a large (i.e. corporate) company which is fine, just know that going in and expect to pay those kinds of prices. I trust them, they do a good job and are very professional and informative. Willing to answer questions in "
