"This entire transaction was top-notch. We are new to the neighborhood and I liked the idea of hiring someone who is more local. We moved into our house a few months ago and are slowly getting everything situated the way we like--one of those things being replacing the horrible kitchen faucet that it came with. I've done faucets before, but this setup was more advanced than I was comfortable with.
I used the contact form on their website to initiate the appointment and within a few hours received an e-mail from
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
asking for a few more details and everything was confirmed with a few more replies. Grace showed up right on time this morning ready to work. She was very personable and friendly, I really enjoyed our conversation throughout the entire appointment, there were no awkward silences to be found. She was kind enough to tell me what she was doing and explain some tips/tricks for future similar projects. She cleaned up after herself and offered to recycle the packaging and old hardware.
The new faucet is now installed perfectly and I love having it. From start to finish I am completely impressed with all levels of service provided by
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
. I will definitely be contacting these ladies again in the future for other projects we have planned. At our old house we had a faucet installed by another company (found on Angie's List) who did a great job, but the cost was about double for the same work. The value with
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
is great.

"My wife and I recently moved to Seattle after I had a difficult surgery. I am still recovering and needed some grab bars installed so that I could safely use the shower and toilet. I called on 1/28 and
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
and
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
scheduled me for the next day at 3:00. They arrived quite early, discussed the exact locations of the grab bars with some good suggestions and installed all four and cleaned really well when they finished the installation.
I discussed some other work I needed in the future and they looked at a problem with the oven door to see why it would not close. Something is wrong with the latch that will require new parts; they suggested using an appliance repairman.. They then carried a banquet table into my office. It really needed two people to do that. They could not have been more helpful and made recommendations on some things where they would not be involved.
There was no charge for the extra work performed even though they spent consierable time troubleshooting the oven latch. I am completely pleased with every aspect of their work and hope they will be back in the future.

did a great job, he was punctual, professional, and did quality work. I needed help installing several complex retractable gates for child-proofing. During the job we hit a number of surprises including me not having all the right hardware and having to drill through brick.
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
took everything in stride and improvised to get the job done right. I would definitely recommend him.

"I bought an old house in Seattle in March 2013. I've had a lot of work done to restore it to the way it was way back then, which included putting a small window back on the front of the house that had been boarded up and covered with drywall and siding.
My new window needed the interior finishing trim work done and I wanted it to look perfect. I didn't want a modern look in this house - I wanted the trim to match all of the other, old trim work in the house.
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
and his dad listened to what I wanted, carefully looked at and measured the old trim work and custom built the trim for my new window so that it matches the others exactly!
I could not be happier with the job that they did! This is the second job I've hired them for and I will always hire them for all my future projects. I highly recommend that you call them for an estimate before giving your project to anyone else.

"We were referred to
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
by a friend of mine who had an excellent experience. We were doing some basement upgrades to a newly purchased home just before we were expecting our first child.
Loved
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
's personality and his quote was middle of the line as far as price, but given the strong referral, we went with
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
. The work in the laundry area looks nice, his drywall guy in particular was great, but here are the specific issues I experienced with
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
:
-
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
was not always on site, his team INCORRECTLY installed a $1000 ventilation system we had purchased independently. I had left detailed instructions from the manufacturer which were not followed. His team even threw away critical pieces of the system. It was installed in the wrong place (not equally between two beams) which resulted in, literally, a hole to the outside of my house (right by front door). He offered to "fill the hole" but we would have had to wait a long weekend (with a 6'' hole cut out of our house). We hired someone to install correctly and still don't have an optimally functioning system due to the pieces that were thrown away. Why hire a GC if he will not be communicating with the subs? (And I had several calls and emails to him)
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
did repair the drywall here (his drywall guy was great).
- I am the naive home owner, but I did not realize the electrical and gas work he did needed to be permitted.
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
never got permits or told us we should explore it. I've since had to deal with this and do not understand why I paid someone $5k to do work and was never even informed permits might be important for gas or electrical work.
- There was a miscommunication about one part of the project, and he blamed me for hearing it wrong. We ended up coming to a solution (I agreed to just pay it) but did not appreciate being told I asked for something I certainly didnt (we only needed gas for the dryer, we had already purchased the dryer. He claimed I asked for both gas and electric -- not true -- cost an extra $400).
- Two of our brand new windows have completely scuffed up fixtures and handles (
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
attempted to
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
out but are still damaged). Care was not taken in the transport of these items.
- When one sub dropped off the new windows pre-install, they were left outside in the rain for what would have been overnight (fortunately my husband brought them in that evening).
- While
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
was initially flexible in dealing with high timing needs on our end (managing timeline against another flooring contractor who was in and out), in the end, there were several overcommitments and missed timelines. Including one time when I was expecting his electrician, and told
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
on the phone that we'd leave door unlocked and not to worry about the state of the floors as they had to be redone. I got a call that the electrician left because the floors weren't finished and were tacky. Yes, yes, this is why I called
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
! Poor communication.
To top it all off, twice
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
made "jokes" about me being critical of the timeline, work, etc., due to being "pregnant and emotional" -- a comment that is extremely rude and down right inappropriate.
My advice if you are to work with
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
is to get everything in writing so there are no miscommunications. But for me in the future, when I hire a GC it will be to have them actively manage their subs and the work, so I will be going with a different contractor.

did several small jobs well. There were problems with several of the larger projects. He installed a new door into an area that used to be a recreation room. I asked him to insulate between the moldings around the door to prevent air from the hallway from entering near where a thermostat is located for an electric heater. The foam that he used swelled and the door wouldn't shut, so it took him time to remove some of the insulation and shave the door, so it would close. He laid a side splash piece on the new bathroom cabinet. It fell between the cabinet and wall, so he needed to unscrew the cabinet and pull it out to retrieve it. He changed the shut off valves for the hot and cold water beneath the new cabinet. There was something defective in the hot water pipe where he attached the valve. The valve came loose and water spewed out until he could run downstairs and turn off the water. The greater problem was that he had no answer to solve this problem, but asked me if I knew a plumber. I have an elderly neighbor who had done some previous plumbing work for me. He came and soldered some new pipe, and reattached the valves. Thankfully, having a household of four, we could turn the water on again. My neighbor is not a licensed plumber and there is now a small leak around one of the shut off valves.

installed a new light fixture. When we turned it on, it wasn't working. My neighbor trimmed and secured the wires, so the light fixture works now.
Seattle Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
did discount his work during this 6 hour period of work from $58. an hour to $50. an hour. He didn't charge for the trip he made home to get the soldering torch needed by my neighbor to do the job. I am disappointed with his ability in some areas.

"Proposal was a stairway to skirt tree root a few inches and be centered by the front door. A metal railing matching that on lower stairs was to be moved a few inches and reset. Work was proposed for dry spell and that occurred a week or so later. The crew began work straight away at 8:OO AM and they worked diligently for three days removing old stairway and landing, digging up offending roots and relaying concrete. Result was a beautiful replaced stairs and landing matching lower stairs.
I was very pleased with the honesty and work ethic of this company. I would use them again.

"Very quick response, great information during consultation. Quick to get on the schedule, and the patio was complete, including excellent clean-up, within two days. Can't wait for warmer weather to arrive so we can start living out there this summer!

"He was good at responding and communicating about pricing. Scheduling was good and he was available when we needed him. Once he left, the french door was unable to close properly. We contacted him and he came back the next day to correct the issue. Overall, it was good."
