"We had carpeting in two bedrooms that we wanted removed in order to restore the original fir floors underneath. responded promptly to my call asking for an estimate and was able to do the estimate within a few days of my phone call. He based his quote off of what he saw from a corner of the room where we lifted up the carpeting and warned us ahead of time that the price could fluctuate depending on what's found when you eventually pull up all the carpeting in the room. The price he quoted was only a few hundred dollars less than the other quotes we received, but we liked how he was knowledgeable and experienced, giving us information about how fir ages and colors in interesting ways, and pointing out where the original floors and ribbon inlay in the living room of our house ended and transitioned to more modern flooring in the kitchen. Right before moving out of our house so they could do the work, we discovered that there was pretty bad water deterioration in one of the rooms when the carpeting was pulled up: one of the boards was actually white at the edges as if it started rotting. We worried how much this would affect the price. When it came time to do our floors, the crew arrived promptly and were courteous. I then got a call about an hour after they started working asking that I come back and take a look at a problem in the main bedroom: there appeared to have been a false wall at some point so that there was about 3 feet of wood that was varnished in a completely different color, plus a gap about half a foot wide so that the floor boards on either side of the gap would not match up. 's son explained that we could either rip up all the boards and place new ones so everything would match perfectly or their preference, which he added would be cheaper and less labor intensive, would be to fill in the gap with wood and make a transition strip. He pointed out that with the ribbon inlay in the living room, this kind of transition strip would fit in, almost like it was intentional. When he said that the additional cost would just be the cost of the wood plus 2 to 2.5 hours of labor (at $80/hour) I agreed to that option. The finished floors look amazing! The transition strip indeed looks beautiful and professional. Also, the water spot in the second bedroom came out-- you would never know that the wood was rotting in that area. Although seemed like he was concerned that we would be upset about the dark color spots on the floors, we know that such coloring is the natural bruising of the fir wood and love the character that it adds to the floors. With just about $500 more than the original price, we are extremely happy with how the floors turned out, given those rather big, unexpected problems."

"I called their office to request an estimate for a tiling project. Although it was the middle of the morning, no one was available to answer the phone. I left a message, which they did not return. More than a week later, I called the same number again - and got the owner's cell phone. He was in the doctor's office, and offered to call me back. Days later, he called, but wasn't sure if he had already spoken with me. He called two more times over a period of more than a week, asking if I had contacted him. Neeless to say, I used another contractor."

"After thinking it over, I decided to cancel the job. Who knows if what I was being told was true (since I had two versions from two different people at the company), and what confidence could I possibly have that they would follow through with the new schedule? Reliable? I would not describe them as that, and I would not recommend them to anyone else."

"They said it would take 2-3 days. It took 5, including working until 9 PM one day. There was little effort to put down floor protection for the rest of the house, and did not hang a to keep out dust. The "mud" guy left an incredible mess that I cleaned up. At the end of the 5th day, and Xmas the next, I wanted them out of my house and life. I did the finishing touches myself."

"The floor looks great and working with them was very easy. They were efficient and on time, everything went as they said it would, and we are very happy with the results. The floor is holding up, there are no issues or problems with it, the workers showed up on time, and they cleaned up after themselves."

"It went fantastic! We bonded with immediately. He is such a great guy and genuinely cares about his work and his client's happiness. We have a 1945 cape cod style home that had a very outdated and oddly shaped kitchen, and a bathroom with rotting drywall and a full size window in the shower (God knows why). gave us the bid for labor only and gave us an estimate on material costs. We worked it out to be exactly to our budget. We liked paying for materials separately because it allowed us to control costs and not pay any -up a contractor may have added. Once we accepted bid he and his guys were able to start within 10 days or so. Project Start: Like most projects, the demo went quickly. His guys were extremely clean and took great care to make sure dust was contained within the confines of the kitchen and bathroom. They put up plastic sheets and had an industrial air purifier to help with the dust. They had a large trailer in the driveway to haul away all the debris (which there was plenty of). Middle of Project: During the project the work went smoothly and communicated well at each phase. As with all projects like this you find a few surprises. For us these were minimal and was always willing to ensure what needed to be done was taken care of the right way. As we were discussing ways to make the kitchen as efficient and spacious as possible, we decided to expand the entryway to be wider than it was originally. During this process found that the beam spanning the boundary between the kitchen and living room would need some additional support to ensure it was safe. Many contractors would have simply glossed over this and done what was cheap and easy. does it the right way, even if it slows down the project. End of Project: Wow! What an amazing new kitchen and bathroom we have. We are so thrilled with the space created for us. Almost 1 year after the job was completed we couldn't be happier with our kitchen. It is beautiful! And the scrap pile on the patio was cleaned up so well you couldn't even tell it was ever there. We LOVE the remodel! It's not often people hug their contractor, but both my wife and I gave a hearty hug at the end of this project. We will definitely call for our next project!"

"In general it was a good experience of a very disruptive & dirty project. All products were first class and subs did a good job. The designer was outstanding to work with and managed to deliver nearly all of our wish list even better than we had visualized within budget. The job foreman was very knowledgeable and had good communication skills. The tile designer gave us a one of a kind glass tile backsplash. Anything that did not meet with our approval was quickly redone with better results. Every time I walk into this area I smile because it's perfectly executed. This is not your typical cherry cabinet, granite countertop, hardwood floor design. But the most impressive thing about this company is that they stand behind their work & even now, nearly 3 years later, will come out & remedy any problems."

"Something spilled on the carpet all the way down the stairs and across the family room and we could not get the stains out. came to our house after we called him and gave us an estimate. He returned and replaced half the carpet on the stairs and patched the stains on the family room floor (fortunately we had large carpet scraps that could use). The carpet looks like new. The whole thing took only a few days from start to finish."

"They did an excellent job. They were very responsive and he was a good guy. They provided a good value. We had some issues with one part of what they were doing and they were very quick to address them. The quality was excellent. Their price was competitive; it wasn?t worse or better. "

"We had a flood in our basement, but we caught it early. So we were able to pull the carpets back and we didn?t actually our carpets, but we had the padding replaced. We had to have it all put back down and stretched. All of our tack boards were also redone. The price seemed high, but I didn?t have anything to compare it to. was also able to do the service when we needed it. So I felt that it was pretty reasonable and worth the price we paid. He was very personable and easy to work with. I felt very comfortable having him in our home to do the work. He was very forthright on the phone. He let us know exactly what he was going to need and what he was able to provide for us. He was prompt and did the job in the amount of time he said he was going to do it. "
