Electrical reviews in Seattle

I purchased The Big Deal from Angie's List for the installation of 4 recessed lights to be installed. After my purchase on 6/5/14 I contacted the company and they said their next available appointment wasn't until the end of
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
. Since I would be out of town then the next date that worked for me was August 6th so I was scheduled then. When I didn't hear from them the days leading up to my appointment I called (it went straight to voice mail) and I left a message. I also followed up with another message via Angie's List, no response and they didn't show. My request for a refund was denied because it was past the 30 day Big Deal Guarantee period. Smells like a scam to me! Angie's List offered to help resolve the issue with

or obtain another voucher. Since I don't think
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
exists anymore I'm choosing the latter.

, the owner and estimator, won the bid against a competitor first on merit (competent and detailed), and second because his bid was also a lot cheaper...
Major Issue:
Well, I think I got what I paid less for, which was 2 guys who were late and had little regard for safety. Not once did they turn off any circuits while their hands were actively working on live electrical; the leader of the two responded with "we're used to doing this all the time" when I offered to turn a circuit off for them, something they should have proactively performed or asked for. Later, lights flickered as his partner replaced a GFCI outlet on a different circuit.
WILL NOTE REHIRE -- even if they're bonded and insured, there's nothing to prevent a dead or injured man's family from dragging a homeowner through court anyways.
Minor issues:
Cleanup at the end of day was rushed and left some significant dust behind (perhaps they should've arrived on time).
The quality of the finished work was otherwise up to par, except the networking cable plugs, which was not a big deal. (I'm a network engineer and I redid the network cable plugs myself.)

Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
came and fixed some light switches for us when we lived in
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
. He was very professional and did a good job. We moved to north Seattle last year and we needed some work done in our new house. I called him 3 weeks ago and asked him if he worked in north Seattle. He said he usually doesn't go that far, but would come down anyway. He was really busy right then so we made an appointment for 3 weeks away for 9am. The morning of the appointment he called to confirm the address and seemed surprised it was in north Seattle. I said he agreed to come before; then he said he was on the way. 45 minutes later I got a text message that said he can't come and to call another company. Really? I believe at least phone call would have been not only courteous, but also warranted. All he had to say was he wouldn't come to our new location the first time I spoke with him. I took a whole day off work to get this work done so I am very irritated at this lack of professionalism. I would never call him again to do any kind of work.

Everything went very well. Extremely professional, knowledgeable, and polite. Went above and beyond what we had asked, and exceeded our expectations. We would recommend to anyone needing electrical work done.

Started out good, but now I'm in a bad customer service
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
. Initially all went well.

the scheduler was polite, professional. The electricians were pretty much on time, friendly, professional, mindful of the cats. Work was completed efficiently. The City inspector came on 4/1/14 . The job failed inspection. I contacted
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
via email and then corresponded with
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
assured me that
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
would remedy the situation for no extra cost. I explained to him that my work schedule would be tight for a while, that I would contact him to set up another appointment. No problem. At this point I was also interested in having the attic rewired.
Fast forward to August.:
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
's phone number and email are both defunct. I had misplaced
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
' email, but a second number was not working. I contacted Angie's list, they supplied an email and phone number. The phone message box is full. I sent an email 7/23/14.
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
did respond, first to ask what corrections were required, then to say he'd stop by to say hi and look at what needed to be done. No time frame. I had proposed a job date of 8/7 or 8/8 (days I could get off work) but have heard nothing back from him. I understand that this is a busy time of year, that
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
may be booked out, but why not get back to me and tell me? Am left feeling frustrated and disrespected, and have no idea when
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
is planning to drop by to look at the job. An otherwise satisfying experience has been tainted by very bad customer service. At this point I just want to get the corrections made, pass inspection and call it good. I'll find someone else to do the attic.

systematically ruled out several alternate causes, and then dug up underground wiring where an improperly spliced connection had come apart. He took the time to obtain the needed connector for underground wiring, did the splicing, and resolved the problem. We couldn't have asked for better service than he provided.

I purchased a big deal from
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
to install some recessed lights. The soonest he (
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
) could schedule the work was about 6 weeks later. I asked him to come review the site to make sure he could do the requested work which he did and we decided on the specifics of what was to be done. I called a few days before the scheduled work and we confirmed date/time for the appointment. About 30 minutes after he was supposed to arrive I called to see where he was. He said he had car trouble and wouldn't be able to make it that day (note that I had to call him - he didn't bother calling to tell me he wasn't coming). We rescheduled for the next day at the same time. He didn't show that day either, and again didn't call. I called him but just got his voicemail so I left him a message. No return call, so after waitiing another hour or so, I texted him to tell him not to bother coming (if he was even still planning on it). No explanation, no apology, not attempt to make amends. I put plans hold for 2 days in a row and moved some things around to accomodate his schedule, and then he didn't show or call. If he really did have car trouble, I can understand that. But what happened the next day? And why no call?

I can't say enough good things about

Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
. My house needed some major electrical work done to my house and I also wanted to upgrade the electrical service to my detached garage and so I contacted and met with three electrical contractors, off Angie's list. When discussing the installation of the new main breaker/pipe/weather head on the outside the house,
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
actually walked me up the street to show me how similar houses have it installed in my neighborhood (unsightly at best). He said he could install it the same as my neighbors but was the only one of the 3 contractors that offered another option that would look much better (by having the box and pipe installed within the wall). The estimate provided by
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
's/FSE was hundreds less than the estimates I received from the other two contractors. I did not hire
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
/FSE just based on cost, but due to the fact spent some time discussing the project, explaining things and offering solutions.
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
and his apprentice
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
showed up at the appointed time and went to work. They both were very professional and took the time to answer my questions throughout the project. I was very impressed with the final results of their work.
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
also made sure the areas he worked were cleaned up afterwards. The final cost was the same as his estimate. I have worked with a number of contractors over the years in my professional career and I have to say that
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
/FSE is exceptional in terms of customer service, quality of work and enjoying what he does. I've already recommended
Seattle Electricians Provider Name Locked
to friends and will hire him again if I need any electrical work done in the future.

Great team. Did it all in one day with 3 people, Efficient, tidy and competent. Nice guys who are local owned and operated.
- Helen M.

I really enjoyed and was impressed with the owner's approach to his craft and his business. Communication with him was excellent. I purchased a "Big Deal" coupon for $399 for up to eight hours of work - a deal! - and Ed took the time to scope out the work to make sure it could be done in that time frame. Unfortunately, the crew hit a couple of snags in my old house, and had to go overtime. I was very pleased overall with the professionalism of the crew.
A couple of things to keep in mind as a homeowner: The "Big Deal" does not include tax (I should have known) and if you are installing ceiling fans, it is not cost effective to pay electrician's prices to have the do the tedious work of assembling the paddles for the fans. That took a lot of time out of the guys' hour, and I could have been doing that while they continued on electrical stuff. I took over the assembly of the second fan and it was easy, but time consuming!
