"I love the railing it adds so much character to my house. I only wish that they had offered me more glass options. There were obscure glass possibilities out there at the time but all the local rail companies insisted that they did not have them. .Either they are lazy or rigid? I could not get obscure glass"

" has been excellent from start to finish. He was incredibly patient with us, as we worked through different design ideas (his suggestions were excellent), and he was always transparent and honest with us regarding costs and any glitches in the process. What's impressed me most is that he doesn't stop taking care of customers once the work is done. If you notice any problems or have any maintenance concerns, he's always quick to pop-in and take a look. Lastly, I would just add that is a very nice and honest person. we've recommended him to a few friends, and will continue to do so in the future."

"The responsiveness and updates were excellent from start to finish. All promised timeframes were honored and Dmitry and his team arrived for work promptly and did the job as agreed upon. I wasn't sure what type of composite wood to use and Dmitry sent suggestions listing all the pros and cons. I'm very pleased with the finished product. Overall, extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend this company without hesitation."

"It was a standalone job for which we paid them. I really liked the woman we worked with. She was creative and listened to us well. She incorporated a lot of our desires into the plan. We are planning to use them again for the next phase of the project."

"When I had to add a quick bedroom in my house was there in a timely manner and framed in the bedroom in a very tricky area in a day so that I could quickly get in the drywall contractor. I've also worked with on a patio replacement project where rain water was running into the house and damaged a basement bath. replaced the stone patio with a beautiful stamped concrete patio which stopped the water leak and we then worked together to repair the bathroom. I've also worked with on a couple kitchen remodels and was more than pleased with his professionalism with my clients. can do just about anything, and does it well and with a high degree of quality. I know he stays informed and educated, attending seminars to further his knowledge and follow the laws of Wa. State."

"The project was done with promptness and professionalism. We paid based upon time and materials, which works well when the contractor has the long experience and necessary equipment to do just about any job. When they need an electrician or plumber for part of the job, Mason works to have reliable and professional specialists to handle the work. His experience also enables him to work with they homeowner to provide options and suggestions for addressing remodeling problems that inevitably arise. Highly recommend for any type of home remodeling work or deck construction. They handle paing"

"I found (WCD) through Angie's List. They had top grades in all categories. I contacted them and found them responsive and eager to help me get my deck replaced. Now I procrastinate about many things, and replacing my deck was one of them. It got to the point where the old deck was unsafe.
I contacted WCD and returned my call. was very knowledgeable and patient and willing to put up with my endless questions. He explained to me the advantages and disadvantages of the common decking materials and why one might choose one over another. He was clear on the future maintenance requirements for a deck built of one material or another.
Another thing that I appreciated was his honesty -- Yes, my deck did need a permit in the City of Seattle; another bidder said I didn't need one and I was right to doubt this answer. invited me to his house where he had built a grand "deck of many colors" featuring all of the materials WCD builds decks from. This showed me the deck materials as they exist on a real deck -- it was clear that some composite materials held up better than others under real world conditions. The initial bid was a bit lower than the first bidder's estimate for the same scope of work.
After I'd seen the different composite materials I asked for an estimate using the more expensive PVC clad wood/plastic composite material after seeing how it held up in his deck and how much more attractive the colors were. The difference in overall cost was about acceptable given the difference in ongoing maintenance costs/effort.
explained to me a couple things that to a small 2-week delay in starting the job -- waiting for a structural engineer's stamp and an unavoidable construction delay. Once the job started, WCD's crews showed up and completed the deck within the time originally estimated. It took approximately 5 days to demo my old deck and replace it with a slightly larger deck. The new deck is solidly constructed, and WCD took the care to build it with a couple of nice features like using the deck material for a top rail to protect the cedar pickets and skirting the structural treated-wood joists and beams rather than just having them stick out.
Most importantly, WCD built a deck that passed the city's inspections with flying colors. Both the initial inspection and the final inspection went without a hitch. Skillingstad was the construction contact and he said that we should adjust the position of a footing to clear a walkway. I said to that as long as the inspector thought it was cool, I would prefer to adjust the location. I am sure it took more effort/cost to deal with this issue but WCD did not issue a change order or tell me that it was my problem.
So overall I am glad 1) that I went to the minor expense of signing up to Angie's list to find WCD and 2) that WCD built me a solid deck that looks great, at the original bid price, and kept me up to date with progress. I felt their crews were professional -- I had to leave the house unlocked while they worked here and they respected my property. The cleanup/demo was thorough and complete. I was impressed that their crews knew what they were doing, did it, and cleaned up afterwards. Now I may need to wait until next spring to really enjoy my deck but I am sure I will. I recommend if you need a deck built or replaced."

" VanSanford Jr., the main guy behind ., was probably over-qaulified for this job, after seeing his portfolio of previous fine carpentry and remodeling projects. Always professional yet easy to talk to, put in a competitive bid and carried out the job as planned. He accommodated an adjustment needed to install the roof panels (adding spacers) adeptly. We were pleased with the quality of the work - the added roof joists and joints were straight and sound, the miter cuts clean and aligned. He showed up on the days promised and completed the work efficiently. We especially liked seeing all the signs of a solid, legitimate business: A written estimate with company name and address, a proper written / paper invoice upon payments (again with company name and invoice #), sales tax broken out in the invoice, and he did not require an advanced payment for work to begin. We feel the quality of work was a good value for the price, especially given the cost of the deck cover materials involved."
