"
is just the BEST. Very pleasant to work with, extremely skilled, moderately priced, and he goes the extra mile to produce a quality piece" and a happy customer. You can tell he's been doing this a long time and really knows his stuff! At first I thought his bid on the project seemed high, but once I got a couple of other bids I realized that he is actually quite reasonable, and the quality of his work is top notch. The wood is top quality (it almost hurt to paint it!), the finish work is impeccable, and the hardware he chose is highest quality as well (all cabinet doors have fully adjustable hinges which allow the doors to be perfectly matched and level, for example). Once we got the cabinet installed we definitely felt it had been worth the investment. It is a beautiful showpiece that has a gorgeous impact on the space and it's so great to have more storage space! I also have to compliment
on his very friendly working style. He originally gave us a delivery wait time of 6-8 weeks, but when his project schedule shifted he was able to squeeze our job in and ended up delivering in just 2 weeks. This made a huge difference to us as it allowed us to get the cabinet in place before our new carpet in the living room, which meant the carpet installers did not have to either guess the footprint of the cabinet or return to re-stretch the carpet after the cabinet had been installed.
even offered to let us borrow a particular tool we needed in order to cut out a metal railing from the wall where the cabinet was intended to go. He really bent over backwards for us and I can't recommend him highly enough to anyone who needs custom cabinetry.

accepted to take this job despite being busy with bigger projects. He was very responsive and punctual. He delivered the panels in time." They matched perfectly the color of my kitchen cabinets and size of my fridge. My kitchen looks beautiful again. Excellent work overall!

Not really.  If the contractor is very careful and you are really lucky he might be able to pull them out and then reinstall them after the new cabinets are installed.  A lot of this will have to do with how well the counters were installed in the first place.  Also, the existing countertops may not line up with the new cabinets exactly in some areas as well as they do now.  The better option is to have the cabinets refaced, leaving the boxes and tops in place.  Unlless you have deteriorating particle board cabinets you should be able to get a carpenter to do this.  If you decide to remove the countertops and install new cabinets factor in new tops and be pleasantly surprised if they can be reinstalled afterall.  Realize you probably won't find a contractor willing to gurantee not damaging the tops.  If you do, dig in and research him well.  He likely doesn't have enough experience.

IF dirty enough to make for a musty odor, then paint won't stick to them properly anyway. Paint is not your solution - you probably need a Deep Cleaning. Try to pin down what types of smell it is - if damp, mildewy; rotten food; or musty fabric - will help guide you to the source maybe. Another thing to do is keep all doors closed for a full day when outside temp is such that furnace and A/C can be turned off - then walk around the house, sniffing - preferably with 2 people - and see if one room is the major contributor. I have played this game, and found all the following as sources of musty smells: 1) linen in a closet without ventilation going slightly mildewy 2) water leak in walls or floors enough to cause mold but not drywall staining or visible water 3) carpets needing cleaning 4) water leak in bath or kitchen leaking under floor, causing mold there which is not pronounced in smell because under the flooring 5) attic mildew/mold from leaks or moisture condensation on insulation/wood 6) moldy plants outside - left in garden/flower bed in fall, so rotted in winter/spring 7) clothes in closets touching outside wall, so in very cold weather acted as insulator and let freezing front come to inside of wall, causing frost and moisture to buildup there from the inside moisture, eventually causing mildew/mold (same process as condensation/ice on inside of windows with curtains over them) 8) failure to clean behind kitchen appliances and under sink, or under washer/dryer/dishwasher at least when repaired or changed out 9) heavy lint accumulation in bathroom fan going mildewy 10) grease trap in kitchen exhaust fan never cleaned 11) washing machine going moldy - run a cycle of towels or such with bleach and Borax 12) the number one cause I have found - clothes stacked in closets or hope chests or such for decades get very musty even if clean and ventilated
?

As long as the counter is big enough Corian is one of the easier ones to work with. Since it does not have the ground or crushed stone that some of the other material have you can work with normal woodworking tools. A saw with a fine tooth carbide blade and a professional grade router with the proper shaped carbde bit can be used if the edge needs finishing. A belt sander helps on cuts also. The only problem you might have is if you need the joint kits for seaming as I dont think you can buy them.

When Corian first came out I could buy the slabs and fabricate my own tops and then Dupont went to a certified distributor system and would no longer sell to those of us that had been working with it for years. I will admit that they did have reasons for this as not all that were working with the product were doing it right.

My custom-made kitchen cabinets by
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, 341 Railroad Ave. South,
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, WA, owner
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, are disintegrating and Mr.
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
refuses to correct the problem.

...More /> The veneer is peeling, the finish is “crinkling” or pulling apart on the bottoms and faces of all cabinets (upper and lower and drawers) including an island on wheels and a pantry. The wood in front of the sink is shot, the baseboards look like they were never sealed and are mottled and warped.

This kitchen was installed about 4 years ago. I noticed the problem about 1 ½ years into my brand new kitchen, but didn’t understand what was happening. The baseboards looked like they were mottled and warping. I called Mr.
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
and asked for a referral to fix the problem. They resealed the baseboards, but the problem continued to exist.

When it started to show on the cabinets and dishwasher front, I called Mr.
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
again and he sent one of his employees to fix the problem. He removed the dishwasher panel and upper cabinet door. These were re-sanded by
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
,
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, then reinstalled. I paid for this “repair.” The dishwasher door front is now a different color than the cabinets. The employee told me to wait and it would “yellow.” It is over a year and it is still a dramatically different color. And the cabinet door they sanded to “correct” the problem is now bubbling at the bottom as well.

I am a single woman, out of town about 6 months out of the year, and
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
’t cook every day when I am home.

I have had 7 professionals out to look at the problem, the last one being Mr.
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
who finally came to inspect the problem himself after repeated calls and a letter asking him to come and give his opinion. Instead of fixing this problem, he hired a lawyer to write me a letter.

According to his lawyer, I am at fault. He claims this warping and mottling is “caused by your own actions in mopping the kitchen floor and getting excess moisture on the cabinets.” That is absurd. I might mop the floor once a month (that would be 6 times a year). As for cleaning the cabinets, how the heck do you cause moisture damage to cabinets, especially at the bottom of the upper cabinets? How often would I have to clean them to create this? How much water would have to stick to them – should I even be cleaning them once a week? This IS a kitchen. I do use it sometimes. I do boil water. I do use the oven from time to time. But saying this is my fault because I’m getting excess moisture on the cabinets and mopping the kitchen floor is ridiculous.

I saved all my working years to afford a new kitchen. Now I will be replacing the cabinets, at my expense. I am paying again for Mr.
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
’s inferior product.

I would never use, nor recommend
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, to anyone. They do not stand behind their product. It is faulty and you have no recourse. I would have done better to purchase cabinets from a mass produced company than
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
.

The owner,
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, was AMAZING. My kitchen functions perfectly because of his suggestions and designs.
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
spent several hours interviewing us to see how we would use the space and asked critical questions to guide our thinking and to extract from us precisely what we needed to accomplish. He optimized every bit of space. His attention to detail was fantastic. His follow up was the best we have ever experienced. We had never done any remodeling at this scale before and were spending a great deal to remodel this kitchen.
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
's advice and suggestions gave us confidence throughout the entire process that all would be well. Really top notch from beginning to end.

The whole project was completed without a hitch and well within the amount of time that

I had a great overall experience through
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
. There are always bumps in the road, but it all worked out in the end. I had a team:
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
was the initial contact and designer; Bror was my engineer;
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
was my GC installer; and
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
did my tile.
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
was very knowledgeable and helpful in getting my ideas for a design into a plan. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted, and
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
had several suggestions for how to make it better. There were no hard up-sells- in fact, just the opposite-- when I told him the initial estimate came in at more than I had budgeted, he thought I was saying I didn't want the job done, so he just wished me luck. Once we figured out what each other meant, we were able to find a few places I could do some of the work myself and keep my costs down. I hired my own granite fab & installer, did my own demo and did some of my own electrical and appliance install, which saved me 20% or so. The whole team was very patient and supportive of my effort to save where I could, even if it delayed them some or made some things harder for them. Bror had some very helpful changes to make the design work. While he was willing to try to make grand designs work, we settled on some practical alternatives that ultimately turned out great. Some of the design changes were over my head, but he usually let me know the practical implications. One disappointment came when my solid wood doors had to go due to sagging problems that would likely occur. We probably could have revisited color at that point (I had dropped stain to save nearly $1000), and I should have asked to see what the veneered doors would look like. That would have saved some initial concern about the appearance when the cabinets came for delivery.
I was warned that the cabinets would take a while because they were so busy. It took over 4 months to start work. Even then, the install didn't start until 2 weeks after originally scheduled. My first installer called but never came. Finally
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
was put on the job. He had to be the first person to show me what the cabinets actually looked like, and be the one to make all my money-saving ideas work. He had a real challenge on his hands! It was a bit bumpy at first, as we'd left some decisions like how to install the range hood until during this phase, which slowed
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
's work down. He was also double booked & still finishing another job, & Seattle traffic was eating a lot of his time. But once he was able to get all the right folks in to set up the connections, things went great.
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
did the tile work, which looked great and was finished in no time.
Overall it was a really good experience and I'm very happy with my new kitchen.

Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
is a professional. He was on time for every appointment from the initial estimate to the final appointment. For the first appointment he brought both a catalog of cabinet fronts/wood/finishes to choose from, as well as some actual samples. After making the selection,
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
kept me informed as to when the cabinet fronts would be finished. It took about 10 days. The total job took less time than he had estimated at least in our apartment, but he had to make the drawers and such in his own workshop. He covered the bottom of the cabinet under the sink with a veneer to improve the appearance because it didn't match the quality "look" of the rest of the kitchen when he was finished. That was not included in the price and he didn't charge us. He combined two smaller drawers into one larger one. All the hardware was updated so that the cabinet doors have an automatic "slow" close.
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
has great ideas about what works and what will look good. After each work session he cleaned the area thoroughly. I have received many compliments about the work, the look of it, how quickly it was accomplished. I would recommend
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
for anyone who wants to update the look of their kitchen or bathroom.

Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
did all the work except for painting and the installation of a new floor. We did the painting ourselves and got the floor from
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
Floors. We are very pleased with the design and functionality of our new kitchen. The cabinets, custom made in Keystone's shop, are especially nice. The "installer",
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, did nearly all the carpentry, plumbing, most of the dry-wall work, and a lot of the electrical work. He was skilled and generally worked to high standards. All the work was top-notch, except for the drywall, which needed a lot of touch-up mudding and sanding before we painted it. We were also disappointed that no care was taken to install the drywall level and vertical before installing the new cabinets. In a previous major remodel of other areas of the house, the contractor shimmed the walls so the new drywall ceilings were level and walls vertical. One of the new windows was originally installed crooked, but was straightened when we asked for that.
We found Keystone management to have serious communication problems. Although other Angie's List reviewers have described having on-site project managers, we did not have one even though one was expected based on design phase discussions. The installers appeared to have little supervision, and their manager,
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, didn't really seem to know what was going on. The engineer,
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, did not make clear to the installers what was specified, and we never saw him after the work on the project started. When it was time to put in the dishwasher, it turned out there was not enough vertical clearance and
Seattle Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
had to remove the underlay from beneath the floor below the dishwasher. In fact, our house is crooked and the kitchen floor slopes, so the designers should have made sure the space for the dishwasher was sufficient. The height of the dishwasher was the only vertical constraint in the kitchen design and it seem obvious to provide enough space.

Some cabinet doors were warped, and the Keystone folks took responsibility for replacing them as soon as we pointed this out. (We would have expected the installers to notice it first, but they didn't.) It did take quite a lot of time and three iterations to get the doors properly replaced.

Our original project did not have the floor or tile backsplash included in the contract. We should have ordered the floor earlier than we did, as there was a dead time in the project waiting for flooring material before the appliances could be installed. When we asked Keystone for a price for the floor, it was twice what flooring companies asked, so we had it done separately. We had Keystone do the tile as an add-on, even though their price was higher than tile companies, in order to coordinate the work with the installers. The tile work was satisfactory but not outstanding.
In summary, in a project of this magnitude it would be remarkable if there were no glitches, but Keystone did a fairly good job of correcting problems. The custom cabinets are beautiful.
