"Excellent service, professionalism, and quality.
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
and his team are wonderful to work with. He's considerate of time anddetails. During the installation, he added an electrical outlet in the wall where the window was put in. Somehow this caused the lights in another area of our house to go out ( not a fuse issue).
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
worked quickly to resolve the issue, despite the fact that he had another project started. We're always impressed with his work. The window turned out wonderful and allows us an amazing city view.

"My wife and I contracted
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
based on his competitive value and his extensive experience in the complex realm of home remodeling, after interviewing three others. We found
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
to be a thorough, thoughtful, and approachable collaborator in our efforts to design a remodel and addition to our home. He is a good listener, and seems to have a
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
personal appreciation for the importance of keeping the scope of work in his designs aligned with the project budget and functional needs of the homeowner. He does not bring professional ego or his own architectural ambitions to the project as designers sometimes do. As such, he was able to provide pragmatic architectural plans for our remodel/addition, with close attention to both cost considerations and smart resource allocation, which was centrally important to us.
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
does keep a very busy schedule and workload. Because of this, we recommend that folks working with
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
be clear about expectations and agree to a schedule that gives both the architect and the client enough time to move through each stage of project development, construction planning, and implementation.
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
is one of the more experienced and most practically focused design professionals in Seattle for doing residential projects, and provides a personal, small-business dedication to his projects. He is an excellent choice for a family looking to expand, modernize, or improve the design of their home.

"The remodel exceeded my expectations. The floor plan is functional and beautiful. Several people have commented that it doesn't look like a remodel. The size of the house is still small, but the open floor plan and abundance of windows makes it feel spacious.

"Initial contact went well. Mr.
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
very personable and professional. Designs well done. Did not use any further services beyond initial design.

Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
was right on time for our initial estimate appointment. He listened to our ideas, offered suggestions only when solicited, and had emailed me an estimate for his work later that same day. After we were done interviewing a few other candidates, we went with
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
because of how thorough and attentive he was, and quite honestly, you could see the passion he has for his work. He gets excited about projects, and that enthusiasm is great to see. After we settled on
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
, he came by the house twice to do all of his measurements, and once the drawings were done, we sat down and looked them over, made a few changes, and had the final drawings later that day. We're not ready to go ahead with the work yet, but when we do, we'll be sure to keep
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
on as an integral part of the process. He's a straight shooter, and managed to come in below his estimate, which was a pleasant surprise. I would, and will, happily work with
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
again!

"My husband and I had contemplated a remodel of our teeny, tiny kitchen for years after purchasing our Wedgwood crackerbox, but didn't know where to start. We knew we couldn't afford to do a big addition to expand our space, but our small closed-off kitchen was not only cramped, it was falling apart and needed help. Since we knew we would have to remain within the same small footprint, a good design plan was of utmost importance. We knew doing this task ourselves was beyond us, but didn't know what to do next. When an Angie's List Big Deal came up offering a seriously discounted $200 for 3 hours of consultation with
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
, it seemed like a sign. We called
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
and scheduled a meeting.
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
arrived promptly and was ready to jump in. Although we didn't know exactly what to expect from a consultation with an architect, what we got during this first consultation was a presentation of a portfolio of past work, followed by a close examination of our kitchen along with a thorough investigation of our likes and dislikes in terms of style, function, and dreams for what was possible within a small space. Although I can't promise this for his future clients,
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
also gave us more than we paid for in terms of his time--he didn't rush and we felt like he really got us.
Our consultation was such a positive experience, we decided to go to the next step with
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
. For $1725, he agreed to professionally measure and create a floor plan for our current kitchen space and the rest of the main floor of our house (since we have future projects planned for every corner of our home, this will be very handy to have). In addition to the plans of the existing layout, he would create 3 different designs for our kitchen, each with a slightly different take on how to handle the space from a low-end to an all-out high-end perspective. After a follow-up consultation to review and choose a plan, he would then create elevations of the winning design and then would meet with us again to tweak the ideas as needed. All of this was included in the fee.
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
presented 3 plans that each contained stylish and creative ideas for a problem space (including the integration of an awkward but necessary retaining wall and the inclusion of a small dining nook). After choosing a plan and getting together for a third time to go over the elevations, we were confident our design would meet our needs, practically and aesthetically.
In the final analysis,
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
listened carefully to our opinions, tracked our (sometimes disparate) needs for our kitchen, and created thoughtful designs that fit the style of our mid-century home while answering our desperate need for usable space within our small footprint. More than that,
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
referred us to some great people, including cabinet-maker extraordinaire Dobum
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
(
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
Craft Inc./Walker's Custom Cabinets in Woodinville) and contractor Robl Design Build, Inc. We don't have our kitchen built yet, but thanks to a great plan we feel confident going forward.

"After our consultation with
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
of
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
we knew we had the architect that would make our lower-level usable and livable! We have split-level home and our lower level (basement) was unusable. We wanted a family room with space for an office and play area. We also wanted to expand our laundry room and add a mudroom. We were very impressed with the thoroughness of
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
's questions to help us
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
in on exactly what we wanted. He explained things well and in a way we could easily understand. He listened to our needs and wants (sometimes having to listen to my husband and I go back and forth) and was able to translate them into exactly what we needed. He gave us a timeline for his work and met all of his deliverable dates. He was responsive to our questions via email, phone and in-person and followed up to see how things were going, which was much appreciated! His designs were fantastic (exceeded our expectations) and we are very happy with the work. I highly recommend
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
and would hire them again for a future remodel.

Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
visited our house and listened to what we hoped to accomplish. Because the area was small,
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
helped us with some innovative ideas creating additional space to be used in meeting our requirements. The job was mostly just a straight kitchen remodel and did not require too much in the way of architectural design so
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
brought in a kitchen designer with whom we worked to design the kitchen remodel. From that point,
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
was not very involved, but he did monitor the evolution of the design and was able to contribute by solving a couple of design issues. We are very pleased with the final result.

"Issues and what he did: 1. CAD · - The first warning bells started when we asked
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
to create CAD drawings for our basement remodel. I would send him detailed, color coded, scanned drawings of the changes, but each time he would send me back the plans wrong and charging us for his mistakes in reviewing what I had wrote. 2. Egress Windows: · - Took 2 weeks, 2 main guys, and him to dig 3 egress window holes - After being asked by my neighbors and us early on why he did not rent an excavator he communicated "I did not think of that and well it is too late" - Should have fired him then, but was like let’s give him a third
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
as he is a nice guy. – · - Side Note: He was given detailed instructions on each type of window well purchased and window that would be installed. · The dirt was taken out by a hauling company, while on vacation hauling crew called and communicated that I would be charged 1300 dollars for all the dirt he authorized to have removed. · - Since we have fired him and 8 professional construction reviews later, we will have to have dirt delivered to us to fill the hole’s - Yes, you read correctly - I know have to pay for dirt to come back, that if he would have calculated or kept some for fill I would not be out more money. · - Fired before cutting my concrete - so only dug the holes for the windows 3. Staircase – · - after the 8 construction reviews of his work each one communicated that the stairs are so bad that you need to tear them out and redo them – · - He did not use the correct type for carpet and each stair was
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
-level / slanting at an angle / we also counted more than 1,000 nails were used in the creation of the stairs – · - When asked he said it was normal for the stairs to slant and that you cannot get stairs level. 4. Beams – · - He started the first beam and used the wrong nails, cut into my water proofing on the
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
of where the beam meets the wall – · - The second beam he thought it would be a good idea to have a post that is outside of our house. I communicated that this would not be needed as the beam will be sitting on a wall and not need to be outside of my house. After 8 construction firms review – they agreed with me that the beam does not have to be outside of the wall and engineer approved – so no beam sticking outside of my house. 5. Framing - - When framing he put untreated wood "shotgun nailed" into the concrete. - He did not put down a membrane or treated wood on the concrete for framing - New construction firm had to rip out framing he did to correct the issues

"It was indeed a pleasure to work with
Seattle Architects Provider Name Locked
. In addition to being personable and knowledgeable, he was prompt to meetings, was always prepared, and kept our effort on task. We told him we wanted to maintain the original style of the house and he listened to us. We found him to be thorough and think that he did an excellent job working with the city to get the permits."
