"I found the company on Angie's List. My weekend email contact was responded to promptly, and on Monday called to set up an appointment for Tuesday between 11 and 1. arrived a few minutes after 11:00 and promptly took care of my problem. He was friendly and extremely professional, careful to protect everything in the kitchen which might be affected by his service. I was delighted with his good efforts. "

"bought a viking range and the oven was too hot. The first time they
came out and replaced the thermostat. That didn't fix the problem so
they came back to replace the sensor. They did what they were instructed
by Viking and since it was under warranty I never saw a bill. The
problem seems to be fixed now and they were very easy to work with."

" was on time (I was given an hour slot) and was very friendly. He got right to work and very quickly fixed the washer (15 mins). Since he was already here, I had him take a look at the dryer, which he was more than willing to do. He seemed to understand my level of curiosity and explained a couple of things of interest to me.
was a pleasure to have and I would gladly refer him to anyone having issues."

"This is the second time I've used (and my second review of him here), the first time was in 2007 to fix a clothes dryer, which is still going strong. 2 weeks ago, the bake element in my 25 year old oven burst into flame (I put it out before it damaged the oven), so I called . He wasn't able to come out for a week, so gave me instructions on how to try to replace it myself. After looking at how the element was attached, I decided it would be better to get him to do it. I looked at new stoves, but decided it just wasn't worth it as everything else on mine still works fine. showed up on time, did his usual excellent job, explained some stuff to me about the oven I didn't know, and the total price was at the low end of the estimate range he'd given me on the phone. Seattle is very lucky to have a gem like ."

"Two visits to fix a high end washing machine. He charges the going rate but fixed it properly. As a property manager with a lot of appliance issues at multliple locations, I will use him again ( ,the business owner/technician)."

"Portable dishwasher wouldn't run. had worked on my dishwasher before, so I called him again. He found that the fan blade had broken off and the motor was kaput. He quoted me a price for a new motor, and it wasn't worth it for a 15-year-old portable when I am planning to move soon anyway. He charged me for a service call, and that was that."

"The bottom line is: Jimmyz' attitude is that they come to install an oven, it doesn't fit right, that is your problem & not theirs.
Jimmyz was arranged by Metropolitan Appliance in Seattle to install a slide in oven.
Earlier in the day Metropolitan dropped off the slide in range. My wife noted that it looked like it might be too tall to fit properly. The Jimmyz guys showed up took out the old range & put the new one in. The new range has a flange covering about 1/2 inch of the counter top on both sides. The countertop is 35 1/2 inches tall - about 1/4 inch under the adjustable range of the oven. The oven height cannot be adjusted lower. This resulted in 1/4 gap between the flange and the counter top. There is also a gap in the back between the oven & the backsplash. Metropolitan had a problem getting the accessory for the back in time for the install, and we were told that metropolitan would install it when it arrived.
Obviously there was a problem in planning by both jimmyz & metropolitan. Jimmyz did have someone call me earlier in the week to describe the counter top & the existing oven. I would have expected them to make sure everything would actually fit before the install, and provide solutions for problems that might exist. Once they were onsite they should have measured everything before installation. Also, metropolitan should have checked the specs more thoroughly. We assumed that since our old GE slide in fit just fine, a new one would too.
After it was obvious that the oven would not fit, Jimmyz' guys offered a couple hacky solutions - "go get some trim from the hardware store, and call us back".
They left the oven installed with 1/4 gaps between the flange and the counter top. It feels like the oven is just kind of resting in place - very amateur looking, especially considering the oven is a nicer Electrolux model.
To add further discontent on my part, the asked me to sign their receipt saying everything was fine.
The were nice enough, polite & friendly and worked efficiently. They just were not prepared to properly install this oven, or to recommend that the oven not be installed.
I suspect that if you have an install where everything fits just right, and there is no possibility for problems, these guys will do fine. However, if there is anything out of the ordinary you'll be out of luck.
So far, Metropolitan Appliance seems to be working on making everything right. That outcome will be detailed in another review."

"It went ok - technician was prompt, called ahead. He was somewhat difficult to understand (heavy accent), though. Repairs went fine, although we had to wait 5 days for parts to come in, and coordinating the return visit to install was a little hectic."

"A two month project turned into a year project; a year without use of your kitchen is not easy. Very knowledgeable and they did very good work-but again the time-line. Only would work a couple hours a day and then would move on to their other jobs; some days they would not show, then days turned to weeks-it was very disappointing. Would recommend getting in writing a set end date. I had some issues with the range hood they installed-still not happy with that-when cooking fan is not pulling air properly-smoke alarm goes off-it was a 2,000 fan with three motors-was supposed to overkill. Also the granite was a bit of an issue, I told them I wanted a professional granite installer for that part of it. They took the liberty of cutting it themselves, was not the same as I wanted...I guess they only had a different bits for edging, it turned out nice, but had to settle for they decided on. Again they do a great job, is a great guy and does great work. Kitchen turned out amazing."

"We picked this service due to the stellar grades on Angie's List. While they did not cover our area, the owner did recommend his brother's . He was able to diagnose our problem over the phone and we did not need a service call. Great service and we would recommend again."
