The project got moved up due to scheduling with his other jobs, which was great for me. Tear-off team showed up Sunday mid-morning and had the two-

totally removed in about 4 hours, including a TV antenna and turbine vents. The following morning right on schedule the roofing team showed up, started setting up, and the roofing supplies truck with conveyor showed up at the perfect time to unload the plywood sheeting and DiamondDeck underlayment and new metal hardware. A day and a half later the job was done, all cleaned up. Gorgeous roof. If it ever rains again in the bay area, I'll have a

, the owner, checked in often and was very easy to deal with and professional and has been in business for 30 years, so I felt he would still be around if I have any problems.
We got four bids and we didn't go with the cheapest price because we were uncomfortable with the low bidder.
San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was in the middle or a little less than the $3000 range in bids. Other bids looked about the same, but after you add in the extra cost for removing the two

was an easy choice.

The gentleman who came to do the work (
San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
) was friendly and punctual, but just didn't seem very detail-oriented or professional, and he didn't come to the job very prepared.
He came to install a skylight tube. He went up into our attic and started working - and he cut a hole in our ceiling down from the attic without *measuring the dimensions* first. After punching a big hole in the ceiling he realized he couldn't put the skylight tube there because there were framing members in the attic that restricted his access, and the skylight tube wouldn't fit but he'd already made a big hole there. So then he asked to borrow our tape measure because he hadn't brought his with him (?!?). After trying for quite some time to shave away the beams in the attic and make the skylight tube fit, he gave up and cut away the attic beams. Finally he could have room for the skylight tube. Except then he had to brace the beams in the attic to reinforce the area he'd cut away. But he didn't have any materials in his truck that would work. So again he asked if we had anything in the house he could use. We scrounged around down in our garage and found some pressure-treated 2-by-4's that he cut & nailed & used to brace the beam cutout in the attic. By his own admission they were the wrong size and the wrong material, but that's what he used. When he was finished with the skylight tube installation, the area of the ceiling around the tube opening was cracked, smudged, gouged, and all-around pretty ugly. We had no choice but to leave it that way until next time we repaint the ceiling, so it still looks bad even today.
He also installed a solar attic fan, and he gave us a discount after all the adventures with the skylight tube. A discount was nice, but I wouldn't hire him again. Now I'm considering bringing in another contractor to repair the damage he did in the attic.

it was a quick job. we didn't remove our light bulbs in our recessed lights and all of them were broken at the completion of the job. those guys were fast but not exactly delicate on top of our roof.

the sales guy was great to work with, although I'm sure he has used the same stories to sell his product over and over. we heard about the little girl licking paint from him more than once. no lead in our paint. this company is definitely not the cheapest but their quality is top notch. I'm not going to worry about my roof for another 30 years.

After getting quotes from various vendors,
San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
's quote was very solid and it seems like they have done many of the houses in the neighborhood. The work was done on time and everything looked good after the roof was replaced.

San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
knows his trade, and his crew was efficient and completed the job in about a day and a half (bid had indicated it would take 1-1/2-2 days), so this was as advertised and expected. The bid process was thorough, and while there were others who quoted less, the overall bid was complete and very accurate to include all that needed to be done. Since I don't like surprises, and that is exactly what I would have been exposed to if I had accepted one of the lower bids, I put much value on the accuracy of the quote and work estimates.
San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
has now done 3 homes for us, and each has been executed without incidents. I trust
San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his team to tell me exactly what's needed, and for the crews to be executing to accurate estimates for time and labor, and to be done on time. While I certainly look at competing bids, there's something to be said for doing it right the first time in the bid process, have some back and forth review of the scope of work, and then delivering the services as expected. Kudos to
San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
for their approach and execution capabilities.

Due to some renovation and repair work, there were large areas of ceiling over the kitchen and master bath where the insulation had been removed. The rest of the house had old cellulose insulation that had been settling for several years. All in all, in the winter cold the lack of insulation was noticeable.

Installation ran a special with a discount on Angie's List to pay $149 for $500 worth of installed attic insulation. I bought the special and was contacted by
San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
. I was really only wanting the areas where insulation was missing to be covered, but it turned out that the cost was not much greater to get the entire attic covered. I was somewhat taken aback by the total price ($1,149.50 on top of the original $149.00), but decided that the insulation was needed in any case, so that was why I gave the C rating for price. I felt a bit trapped because I had already paid for the discounting and didn't know how to get that money back if I had decided that I didn't want to pay as much as the final quoted price.
The installer thought that there should be some sort of access port or window or something to get into the attic from outside the house, and seemed surprised that the house was built with only a hallway ceiling opening for attic access. Once we established that that was, indeed, the only way to get up there, the installer proceeded to bring a large hose through the front door and the hallway and into the attic. When he was in place, his assistant started feeding compressed

of fiberglass-like insulation through a machine that broke up the compressed insulation and "fluffed" it and blew it through the large hose to be blown in place. When the installation work was completed, I was invited to climb the ladder to take a look at the coverage, using a large flashlight as my light source. From the ladder, the insulation looked to be level across as much of the attic as I could see (almost all the attic, in truth), and appeared to be deep enough to be effective. When they were finished with the installation, the installer and his assistant borrowed a broom and managed to sweep up almost all of any insulation that had found its way to where it was not wanted.
All in all, an acceptable job. I thought about giving an overall rating of B, but except for the price, the other categories rated an A.

I called and they told me they do not do flat roofs (for a garage) but they recommended someone - who was fantastic! They went out of their way to help. As a result, when the main house needs work, they will be the first people I call!

The contract arrived on time and did a great job. He cleaned everything after the job is done. Until now, the skylight and solar fan work well.

I got three quotes and
San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very competitive. They were prompt for the free estimate, and when performing the work. An additional problem was found when performing the initial repairs, and they provided pictures and gave me a repair estimate. I agreed to the work, and they returned for a second appointment to complete the repairs. Their performance was professional, fair, and they responded quickly following early rains, when other roofing companies were not answering calls, or could not schedule an appointment for weeks. Even though they were busy, they made time to give me an inspection.

team did a good job in installing our new roof and handled some issues with our large patio cover that other roofers were not capable of. His price was very good and he handled the details from A-Z with good response time. I have hired many contractors in my time and my biggest complaint was communication.
San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
called when needed and text ed almost immediately when I had a question or concern with an answer. He crew showed up on time and cleaned up the mess when finished.
I would recommend
San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
if you need a new roof. He is the owner which in my view is very good as some of the other roofs quoted (for the same exact roof) were in some cases several thousand dollars higher. The roofs that were quoted much higher each had a salesman involved and I am sure this contributed to the disparity in pricing.
The roof is new but in addition I did test out the roof for leaks (I have several skylights) and all is OK for now. However if there is a problem later when the heavier rains come I would expect that
San Jose Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
will back up his workmanship warranty if needed. He seems to be a man of his word
The roof did pass it initial inspection
