San Jose Pool Cleaners Reviews

"Working with the retail store, we had a knowledgeable and helpful individual. We customized the spa so that it needed to be delivered from the factory. Delivery came slower than expected, but we were flexible.
When their installation guy came over, he told me it would not fit through the side yard and required a crane for installation. The Installation guy said, as an alternative, he could take down a section of the fence, bring it through the side, then rebuild the fence. I was completely OK with that. I asked that my sales guy call me back.
Call back - Sales guy said there was no way he was going to be liable for fence tear down and replace. I confirmed that the sale was still 100% refundable. I waved liability for the fence and their installation guy came out, tore down a small section of the fence, and replaced it perfectly.
installation was excellent. Their crew was spot on and went out of their way to make things perfect.
The Spa, which is using the "chlorine free" system works pretty well. It has an "ozonator" to keep it germ free. There are other "BAQUA Spa" chemicals I add to keep it "crystal clear". Do NOT believe that you will have clear water. I find just the opposite. The water is always slightly cloudy.
I called to have it serviced, made an appointment. waited all day. End of the day I received a call indicating they ran late and were not able to come. I emptied the water myself, cleaned everything I could find, refilled it. After adding the chemicals, it was cloudy again. I have to remove a residue from the waterline every couple weeks, as well. I suppose it should be expected since we use it often and it is a closed system.
The big advantage to the "chlorine free" system is that you get out of the hot tub and you don't smell. That said, I sure wish i could attain the crystal clear water I was sold on in the show room.

Los Gatos is excellent! I went to him with my
broken sweep and after buying all the parts, he fixed it for free. It
was not an easy job, probably a couple of hours of his labor. The sweep

Pools is currently remodeling my pool and backyard, and picking them for the job and trusting what they said was the biggest mistake. Today, I filed a complaint with the Contractors State License Board to hopefully come to a financial settlement for the work that has been done and to nullify the contract for remaining work....more /> My goal was to remodel the pool, including re-plumbing, new equipment, tile, coping, decking and get the pool to pass final inspection (previous owner had never closed the permits). There were also some plaster cracks that need repair and a patio remodel with new travertine pavers.
I met with Ed
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
in August. He was punctual, friendly and helpful. I told Ed about the pool permit situation, and he said it was not a problem since they have an account with the SJ Building Dept and would either reopen the existing permit or open a new one. In either case, he would give me the receipt to pay the permit costs back to

Pools. Wow. That seems straightforward. He provided me an estimate for the job within a day. The only problem was that some details were missing from the estimate/contract and when I tried to get the details added to the contract and questioned $2600 of additional material costs not on the contract that they said I might have to pay, they stopped responding to me. I figured that they were either too busy or lost interest in the job, so I started gathering other estimates, but in retrospect, this was a major red flag.
Fast forward one month.

Pools had loaned me some samples back in August, and I wanted to do the right thing by returning them, so I stopped by their office.
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
, their Customer Relations employee apologized for not responding and was surprised that Ed had not returned my call. She said that Ed would be there shortly, and perhaps we could work things out. Ed showed up and assured me that he would make sure everything is done right. After all, his family name is on the business, and they have a reputation to uphold. He would even come out and remeasure the yard before the paver order is put in to ensure the right amount of material is ordered and I wouldn't be stuck with extra material. Wow. It sounded like excellent customer service.

put me on the calendar with a start date of 9/26. The contract was signed and sent back by email immediately. Two days before work was to begin,
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
emailed me that they bumped us off the schedule because our contract went to their spam email and another customer had sent in a contract with their deposit, so they get first priority. We were not happy, so after we protested, they said they would start 1 day late, on 9/27. Workers showed up the first 4 days, then stopped coming.
The following weeks were similar. Show up one day, not show for a few days. The demo work that was supposed to be done by 10/1 was still being done on 10/24. One of their workers hit my air conditioner condenser and tried to cover it up and did not tell us. Ed did send one of his buddies over to check out the damage, and he said it was only cosmetic. Great. Now I have a new air conditioner with a

in it. They also gouged my fence with their tractor, did not tell us and have not offered to fix it. When they were digging up the pool deck, they dug up my existing pool light conduit, and it was rusted out. Did they tell me about it? NO! My pool light still worked, so I was planning on just retrofitting the system with

lights, but after demo, my sub panel was torn out and the light wiring buried.
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
offered to send someone over on 10/19 to take a look at it and provide some guidance, but no one showed up. When I asked her about it later, she said that they knew the light was corroded (I guess they can see through concrete), and I should have paid them $2600 for a new light. I had already purchased the

lights, so I was stuck with doing the work myself, with no offer of advice or even an estimate to complete what I was trying to do.
I finally had a meeting with Ed on 10/15, and he apologized and said that he would fix it and things would be smoother after demo was finished.
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
gave us a new schedule on 10/17, but within 2 days, workers were not showing up again. I finally asked for a project completion date, since we were originally told the project was only to take 4-6 weeks, and we were through week 3 with about 1 week of actual work done.
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
argued with me about providing a completion date, but eventually told me the new completion date was now 11/23. When I asked about the permits, thinking I needed to pay
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
Pools for the permit costs, she said they did not pull permits and if I wanted them, I had to pay another $2000 for plans, then pay all permit costs. She also said that she had left messages for a building department person, but he had not responded, and she refused to go down to the building department. I told her we should not move to the next stage of the job (tile/coping) until the permits were resolved and the end date was in writing. I don't want to spend money on a pool that could be red tagged by the city and have all the work removed. Apparently, she does not see the logic in this. I tried contacting Ed
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
to get this resolved through email and multiple phone calls over the past two weeks, but he has not responded at all, and conversations with
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
go nowhere.
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
later called to say that our pool coping had come in, but it was the wrong color. She insisted that I come into their office to confirm this or the project would be further delayed. So, even though the job was on hold, I went to their office and confirmed that indeed it was wrong. She also sent emails with pictures of the travertine tiles and did stop by my house the next day to show me the correct color, but based on her emails it appears she ordered or will order the travertine without Ed measuring the yard, as he originally promised back in September.
I told
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
via email that I need to speak with Ed and have sent emails to Ed and left phone messages, but I have received no response. In summary, I would highly recommend hiring someone else if you have a pool to remodel. I regret that I ever became involved with the Padillas. It has been an incredible amount of stress and waste of time, and I can only hope it will be resolved by the State soon.
"We recently moved into a new house and wanted to fix up and clean the spa that was on the property. Tradewind Spas was offering an inspection and detail special which I scheduled for them to perform on 9/17. Upon inspecting the spa several issues were discovered and no detail was performed by the technician. At no point did the technician mention that anything more than an inspection was performed and he actually said that I would not get charged for the detail. Days later I find out that I was in fact charged for 1.5 hours of labor instead of the 10-point inspection. (which was $49.95) Several calls with Tradewind Spas asking for clarification did not change anything and I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth from the whole experience. I would not recommend Tradewind Spas to anyone, there are more professional companies out there that will not nickel and dime you.

UPDATE: After disputing the charge with my credit card company I received a prompt call from
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
. They informed me that they reviewed the services provided and now wanted to only charge me for the original inspection promotion. I was happy to hear that this issue was resolved professionally, but frustrated at the amount of "arm twisting" required. The spa has since been removed from the property so I thankfully do not have to even consider using their services again.

was very responsive, he was on time for the appt. He explained to me in great detail the service that was needed. He is very very knowledgable about his industry and very good at explaining everything. His charges are very reasonable. He was trying to save me money by repairing my pump instead of replacing it. As it turns out in the end I needed a new pump and he promptly replaced it at a reasonable price. He will be servicing our pool and I know I will have a clean well maintained pool thanks to his diligence to his work. He seems to take a great deal of pride in what he does and that is so rare in the service industry these days. Excellent customer service. "
"It went very well. This work is subject to rain delays, and the crew was delayed several days by the recent rains in San
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
. The "demolition crew" arrived about 9 am and were finished by 2:30 pm, including clean up and putting on the undercoat. The next week:
The finish crew came Monday April 23rd and were done by mid afternoon; including clean up. The drains are VGB Act compliant (KEEP THE CERTIFICATE to show if the compliance mafia come around or when you want to sell) The finish is beautiful.

crew started the water fill. The hoses are placed in the deepest end of the pool so the water rises and there is no staining from running down the walls. They wrapped towels around the garden hose nozzles so the water diffused rather than blasting out. Classy.

We have to brush down the pool walls for two weeks to send "dust?" to the drain and filter. That's life. Our water is crystal clear for the first time in years.
"Very professional. We had a nasty situation when he came in because of multiple accidental dumping of stagnant pools of algae filled water into the pool. He was able to clean the problem up in relatively short time.

In my opinion, he's a little too professional and business like. My feeling is that he sees his job as purely a business, and, as a business man, he'll perform his job to the best of his ability. Which I believe he does.

I was surprised by unexpected yearly charges, but I suspect that he was very upfront about these given his professionalism.

That said, I didn't setup the initial arrangement with him. My wife did. So I've had no real contact with him outside of paying the bills, his newsletters, ads for his other services, and "rules" reminders.
"I have not yet decided if I would be using him or not. His estimate was between $40,000 and $50,000. He was very professional and he came prepared. He was able to answer all my questions. He actually came out with another person that did pool and they both seemed to work well together. I liked him very much but I am not done taking estimates for the work. He gave me a range rather than the actual price which I thought was weird as there was $10,000 swinging in the range."
"She did a great job quickly restoring the pool to a pristine condition, and now maintains our pool on a weekly basis. Because we have a pool sweep, our monthly rate is slightly less than if we did not.
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
also is great a pool repairs and non-standard maintenance, and her prices for those services are essential equipment cost. Great deal."

system seams to be working fine. My issues are as mentioned in other reviews are the lack of phone comunication . I had to pick up cigarette butts from all over my yard and trash left at the
San Jose Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
. I had asked them to explain how the system worked and the tech said he would try and come by when i came home from work but never showed up?? The new pump that was installed was defecteve and they replaced it right away. On the startup service for the pool they charged me 325.00 and came 3 times but 1 of those times was to replace the defective pump "
