"Overall, it didn't go well at all. We had clashes with the owner almost from the beginning. He made a ton of promises that he never kept, including giving us a schedule for the work to be done. He hired a particularly bad subcontractor who was nothing but trouble and then was out of town while he was working. The project manager he hired to oversee ...more the project was largely incapable of staying on top of things. But far more important were the gross errors he made in our project. These included not compensating for the fact that the exterior drywall used was 3/8 inch instead of 1/2 inch, and there were at least a couple of times it could have been corrected. And this was even after I had 2 discussions with him about the thickness of the drywall we were going to use. It should have been obvious to an experienced contractor, but he totally missed the boat. He also did a horrible job making sure the floors where level. So now we have a house with very uneven floors and in place, what essentially amounts to a ramp in the living room. Not good. He will only blame the previous contractor. But
