He managed the sub-contractors well, communicated issues to us in a very timely manner, and presented viable options and suggestions. "It started out well. got everything together promptly and the work was progressing at a good pace. The removal of the drywall and trim was done by a subcontractor chosen by and went well. During this time introduced himself to others as the "GC" and general contractor in charge. The installation of insulation and new drywall was done by another sub contractor, also chosen by , who caused significant and substantial damage to our hardwood floors by cutting the insulation with a utility knife directly on top of the floor and leaving over a dozen deep cut in our floors. We texted and emailed and sent him pictures of the damage to the floor, he offered no response. Eventually, after many attempts, we were finally able to reach him. We wanted to send the pictures of the damage to our hardwood floor contractor we were using to refinish the floor. lied to us saying he had already sent the pictures to the floor contractor and he said the cut would come out when we refinished the floor. He assured us it wasn't anything to worry about. He was wrong. When we followed up on our own with our floor contractor, they denied assertion that he had already sent photos. Contrary to 's assurance, he never folllowed through.
We arranged for our hardwood floor contractor, and his insulation/drywall sub-contractor to all meet and look at the damage to the floors together. During the time our floor contractor was examining the multiple cut and deep gauges on the floors through out the house, just walked outside and talked on his cellphone for a majority of the time refusing to even acknowledge the damage or represent us to his own subcontractor. He just kept trying to minimize the damage to the floors. , who had promised to oversee everything and make certain there were no problems did everything to distance himself from any responsibility. The floor contractor said he could not determine what the cost to repair the damage would be until he started sanding the floor but was certain that there would be atleast two large sections that would have to be entirely replaced.
At this point said he would compensate us for the damage by not charging us for the drywall that had already been put up. We did not approve of this since the cost to repair the floor was still not known, but almost certainly would be much more than the drywall. did nothing more to resolve the situation at that time. He simply gave us back the house key and said he was quitting and left us there with the subcontractor, whose name we didn't even know at that point. fled and left us to try to work out compensation for the damages with the insulation/drywall sub-contractor on our own, even though this was clearly his responsibility. had hired the subcontractor, had a written contract with him and the subcontractor worked directly under his supervision. 's behavior was shocking in his lack of ethics, integrity and cowardice. It was very stressful for us to work it out with the sub-contractor and we were not able to resolve the issue with him.
We were stunned by 's lack of professionalism and level of dishonesty. We trusted him and he betrayed that trust completely.
In the end the damages to the floor cost $1715 to repair and we were also forced to stain the floor a much darker color than we wanted to make the repaired sections match the original ones. We didn't receive a bill for the drywall install but that was worth only around $800 at most, so we were still out a minimum of $900.
We contacted again and told him we needed to be compensated for this. He wrote back and agreed to pay it if we would sign some kind of release form to protect him from liability. After this latest promise of compensation, we never heard back from him, another lie, more deceipt and broken promises.
When we hired he assured us that he would take care of all the renovation work for us. He would manage all the sub-contractors and make sure they did the work properly. However when they screwed up he never acted on our behalf to make sure that we got compensated for the damage from his sub-contractors. He just kept trying to minimize the damage and deny his responsibility to make it right. The entire to get the floors repaired fell on us. He failed to do his job and has done nothing to make anything right.
He left us, a week before we were to move in, with a house that was uninhabitable."

"We hired to do a complete kitchen remodel. We are very happy with his work! He was professional, dependable, knowledgable and helpful. His bid was spot on and because he did such a great job we asked him to do a couple of extra tasks which he did promptly and for a very reasonable fee. We have done major remodels before and is the best contractor we've ever worked with. He came on time, finished the job on time, stuck to his bid and gave us valuable suggestions throughout the project. Since we've done major remodels before we wanted to be responsible for picking out all our fixtures, etc. and negotiating our own prices for those things. allowed us to use his company name to get his contractor discount which was helpful with some suppliers. We did our own design work and chose all our own flooring, counters, lighting, etc. was available to give advice and his opinion whenever we wanted it. I would recommend without any reservations! We found him through Angie's List and I'm grateful we did! All our friends that have survived remodeling projects couldn't believe how happy we were throughout the job and how smooth our project went."

"The neighbors have not stopped complementing us on how great our house looks.. We're the toast of the street now. The entire job was done quickly and with care. Where the terrace connected to the neighbor's house, reinforcement was added. When the sidewalk construction needed to impede foot traffic, a quick turn-around kept everyone happy. It all came together terrifically. When the lumberyard didn't have our choice in exterior spindles for the stairs, made them by hand. And when the stone edging from the dealer wouldn't come together in a smooth finish, again did his own version that is even better then the dealer's technique. Its a perfect job and we're very proud of our home."

The quality was far beyond what I expected. I truly believe we had a partner in . If he thought something wasn't right, he spoke up and added his comments. He was always correct....down to the suggestion that we measure the TV and not rely on the manufacturer spec sheets.
As with any relationship, you know its limits when things go sideways. We had some surprises (as you do with old places), and 's response was always to remain calm, and work through it...without the standard "this is out of the scope of what I quoted". The only change order we added was the dry wall on the ceiling when it became evident patching wasn't going to work out. It was reasonable, and we agreed together.
Everything looks terrific. The built in looks like furniture. I can not thank and his team enough for making this process as painless as it has been. I plan on hiring him again soon when I replenish my coffers for a deck project."

They had initially thought that the job would take two days. By late afternoon they realized that if they continued to work, they could finish it in one day. "The job went great from start to finish. From our very first meting, Ertan always explained things very thoroughly and clearly, he was always punctual, he always kept us apprised of his progress and his schedule. We were on a very tight budget. Throughout the entire project - building, electrical, and other home improvement - he was always very sensitive to our concerns about cost and did everything possible to keep them down. He provided written estimates and out of four estimates, he didn't once go over bid. Ertan was also very considerate. As the work was going on, my wife and I adopted our daughter and my mother was visiting for an extended period. It was touching how hard Ertan worked to control noise so as not to disrupt our 's naps or to disrupt my mother's trip. Also, Ertan was very creative in his solutions. On the second story rear staircase, we needed to reduce the rise of only two stairs - out of about 25. Ertan used a synthetic material that was thin but strong to reduce the width of the landings. This is remarkable since we obtained about six bids from building contractors. The majority of them did not know how to do this without tearing down the entire staircase and rebuilding the whole thing. Others said they would try but they could not make any promises. They made the project very daunting. Ertan inspired calm and confidence - and always delivered. "
