Throughout the project, he thought out solutions to problems before they occurred, and always kept us informed. We were fortunate to have him working personally on much of the project; he is highly skilled. In addition, he is careful about the skill and courtesy of the workmen he hires. He engages top-quality sub-contractors who each did excellent work; like , they stand behind their work. Even though we were living in our condominium throughout the project, 's low-key courteous manner and his care to keep the jobsite clean meant that we always felt as if we had our home under our feet."

"The neighbors have not stopped complementing us on how great our house looks.. We're the toast of the street now. The entire job was done quickly and with care. Where the terrace connected to the neighbor's house, reinforcement was added. When the sidewalk construction needed to impede foot traffic, a quick turn-around kept everyone happy. It all came together terrifically. When the lumberyard didn't have our choice in exterior spindles for the stairs, made them by hand. And when the stone edging from the dealer wouldn't come together in a smooth finish, again did his own version that is even better then the dealer's technique. Its a perfect job and we're very proud of our home."

The quality was far beyond what I expected. I truly believe we had a partner in . If he thought something wasn't right, he spoke up and added his comments. He was always correct....down to the suggestion that we measure the TV and not rely on the manufacturer spec sheets.
As with any relationship, you know its limits when things go sideways. We had some surprises (as you do with old places), and 's response was always to remain calm, and work through it...without the standard "this is out of the scope of what I quoted". The only change order we added was the dry wall on the ceiling when it became evident patching wasn't going to work out. It was reasonable, and we agreed together.
Everything looks terrific. The built in looks like furniture. I can not thank and his team enough for making this process as painless as it has been. I plan on hiring him again soon when I replenish my coffers for a deck project."

He is a genuinely nice guy, completely professional, has great ideas, and responded to every question, call, and email in a timely manner. "We hired to do a kitchen remodel and several smaller projects for us on Potrero Hill in 2009. From his original estimating process through to the end, we could not have been more pleased. For starters, the first time we met he noticed an estimate for a new wood roof deck on our table and showed us a different system for about 1/3 the price, and much more durable.
His rate for work he and his crew do themselves was a bit higher than some of his competition, but we feel completely satisfied that we got our money's worth, in his quality of work, speed, and excellent communication skills. He subcontracts for some items, such as paint and cabinet refacing, but his subs are carefully chosen and excellent as well. Moreover, ensures that their work is up to his standards or they do not get paid until problems are made right (we only had one small issue that he resolved quickly).
We would unhesitatingly work with him again in the future."

"This company ( ) was brought in to finish the work of a previous contractor who had been fired due to defects in the prior contractor's workmanship. I received his name through "DIRECT BUY" who had a list of contractors. His bid was the lowest and the few references checked out. Prior to hiring , I provided him with a list of the work to be done. The price was agreed upon and the time estimated to complete the job was two weeks after the start of the job. He arrived on the first day on time, handled the confrontation he experienced from the former contractor in a professional manner. He also told me that he would not have to be paid for the entire job until it's completion which surprised me as most contractors I had hired in the past usually wanted payment periodically throughout the job. He had the cabinets installed within a few days except from the toe kicks and some minor detail work. But then he told me he would not be back for several weeks to complete the job and he asked for payment for the work done, about 1/2 of the total cost of the job. Even though that was not what we had agreed upon, I went ahead and paid him as I did feel that was the fair thing to do. I was surprised as I was under the impression that we had agreed on him starting the job and working for the 2 weeks straight through to complete the work. When he came back several weeks later he installed the bathroom tile and floor but did not finish off the grout...and he then did not come back for several more weeks. And once again he asked for partial payment of the work done. He then did not come back for several more weeks to finish off the job. Thus a job that was supposed to have been completed in two weeks was dragged out for several months. Towards the end of the job he tried to get out of doing some of the work that we had agreed would be part of the job. I reminded him that we had agreed upon it being done prior to him starting the work and showed him the list he had agreed to do. So he finished up most of the work and I let him go. The quality of his tile work was not the best with some rough edges, but it was better than other tile work I had done in the past. And when he left the last day he told me that I still needed to put the grout sealer on the tile which I had assumed would be part of the work he was hired to do. Of the 5 contractors I have hired in the past for major home improvement work - new foundation, remodeling existing bathrooms, new deck), he would be in about the middle of the pack regarding price and quality. If I was to hire him again I would make sure the items to be done would be clearly stated, the time to complete the job be clearly stated and a penalty clause included for each day the job extended beyond the agreed upon completion date. His kitchen work was good. And his woodwork was good, especially considering this is a 100 year old building with lots of detailing in the woodwork. But I would not be too eager to hire him for bathroom tile work. And was not too good in cleaning up the debris at the end of each segment of the job before he left for several weeks off the job."

"Excellent work. Very Professional. Drain and vent for island counter sink was a challenge but they found a good solution and got it done. Inspection was this morning and it passed without a hitch. Would recommend them to anyone. They're bid was not the lowest but it was very reasonable and I appreciated the way they handled my questions and concerns so I went with them. And I was glad I did."

"We were very impressed with 's work. He was tidy and neat in preparation. He masterminded a beautiful tile and marble layout for our shower. His design was stunning. He made the bullnose for the shower walls himself. He worked over 8 hours a day to complete the job in approx. 1 week. He did not take any short-cuts, and did quality tile work. Wonderboard was not used, and the tile was cemented. cleaned up well after himself. P.S. He's also got a great personality; he's kind and humorous."

" recently obtained a contractors license. she had previously performed an outside and inside painting
job for me and at that time did an outstanding job.Apparently the contracting business is in its infancy and needs to
grow in experience and some common sense. The workers were left to do their job, without supervision and a lot of things turned out wrong and showed poor workmanship. Things did get somewhat corrected after I insisted that she
look at the resultant work performed. Additionally she made duplicate keys for various employees and subcontractors, which were never recturned or accounted for. If you want a nightmare- hire her"

"It was a great experience. worked with our kitchen designer seamlessly, was clear on dates and times, and finished everything on time and on budget. He was very conscious of our needs - one small child and my wife pregnant with another - and how we needed to function during construction without a kitchen. He is always neat and keeps things tidy during construction. He is great at carpentry, and worked closely with the kitchen designer to install the cabinets to her specifications, including things like building a cabinet in the corner where there were no sizes to work in the space from the manufacturer. He is great with tile - installed a tile backsplash and tile floor. Handled the electrical sub-contractor and took care of the plumbing himself, and worked with the inspector so everything passed inspections and is up to code. We were trying to keep things within our budget and couldn't find an acceptable counter material that we liked until suggested concrete. He poured the counters and they turned out great - the exact darkish, warm gray that I had in mind. He did a great job, and we would definitely work with him again (we have, in fact, worked with him on other smaller projects like installing new exterior doors). We highly recommend his work."
