"The estimator called 2x before arriving, once to be sure he had the address, and a second time to say he'd be 2 minutes late. He took off his shoes right away upon arrival, and began to ask questions about the temperature of the house. Over the next hour, he walked through our almost completely uninsulated home (1959), which is also drafty. He measured walls and ceilings and took copious notes. At one point, he climbed an outside ladder to look at the roof and crawled through our crawl space (busting through dozens of cobwebs) to get a sense of that area. Throughout, he answered questions thoroughly and treated us as intelligent people. He explained the different kinds of insulation used today and their pros and cons. He also outlined the big picture: how insulation fads have come and gone given new research about them. At the end of his tour, he asked if we'd like the estimate right away, because he could give it if we had a 3-prong outlet for him to use for his laptop. He sat down, and 45 minutes later handed us a very comprehensive estimate for what his company could do. Comparing his estimate to those of a well-known competitor, we were forced to call back the other company and ask for many more details, realizing they hadn't really told us anything except price! AHE's price was 50% higher than the previous estimate, but it seems that they're proposing to do much more. They certainly were more professional and thorough."

"I am from the mid west and have worked with contractors, both here and there. I can honestly say that 
and his crew has been the best overall. I observed during the project that is an honest, hard working guy that is extremely concerned with keeping me the costumer, both happy and well informed throughout each project. He knows what he is doing and has high standards, but actually listened to me. also has Architectural and Interior design consultancy. I found that this service was unique for contractor but very helpful. They charge me for this service on an hourly rate that was very reasonable. I lived in the house while the work was being done, and it was completed on time and w/minimal disruption.

"I own an old, four-unit in San . Initially when I attempted to contact contractors about the various projects that needed attention, they either did not return my calls or presented me with astronomical bids. From the very start, stood out by responding to my call immediately, being the only one to show up on time, and hreturning his bid to me sooner than any other contractors. His price came in somewhere in the mid range of bids that I?d received. I chose to work with because he came across from the very start as professional and hard-working. I?d also seen and read very positive reviews about previous work that his company had performed in the past. After I chose him to do the project and the work commenced, I realize that I had made the right decision. He made a major renovation relatively painless. He was always on site and performed a lot of the work himself. His attention to detail is extraordinary, from structural work to fine finishes and I designed the custom cabinetry, and when he finished this section of work I realized that he is a true craftsman. He always kept me informed with regards to progress of the project and even took the time to meet with me in the evening to discuss ideas the he or I had. A lot of the work was designed on site and it turned out better than I ever imagined. The site was kept very clean throughout. The project and was done on time and on budget.

" Mr came out first and looked at the room and gave me an estimate. Three men came out on schedule to do the work. Two of them were Mr and his son. The three of them worked together making small holes in the inside walls of the room ( which faced outside) and the ceiling and blowing in insulation material from a big truck out front. then they sealed over the holes and cleaned everything up. Everything had to be out of the room and they helped with the heavy things. the whole process took about two or three hours. they also gave me instructions for followup painting over the patches. Now that it is finished I can't see them at all. "

" did an excellent job with the (partial) earthquake retrofit at my home. He was very patient and helpful in suggesting ways to change the engineer's design in order to save money, he came to the house multiple times and gave me multiple different bids, all on his own time and dime before I actually selected him to the contractor for this project.
was extremely thorough in his estimates and his work. He is very practical, he suggested earthquake retrofit elements that made sense and that the engineer had not originally considered. The final product looks great and is very solid.
and his crew did great work, they always showed up on time, he was great about calling or e-mail whenever necessary, they finished the work when they said they did, did it all at the cost we originally agreed upon, and cleaned up nicely before they left."

"Hakan got back to me with an estimate immediately and was able to start work the following week. He was flexible enough to leave part of the project open, because we were not sure whether we would have to replace one ceiling or two. In the end, we replaced both. Hakan was professional and clean enough that we were able to live in the house, while work was going on and he was extremely careful covering our furniture to protect it from damage. He also suggested a couple of extra small items that could be done more cheaply while he was already working in the 2 rooms (like repainting one of them with the same paint as the ceiling), which was helpful. We are now asking Hakan to bid on a kitchen remodel because we liked his work and professionalism."

"The whole job was done in 2.5 days. They shown up in the morning and work both days till 5/6 pm. All of my small requests were completed immediately on a spot. I was impressed with 's professional attitude. On a top of that, was able to find gas leak in the crawling space while working on ducts. He fixed it the next morning after a visit to the hardware store to get the necessary parts. I was happy to put that "gas leak" mystery behind: I called the plumbing company twice within last couple of years and they were unable to find the leak. Of course they didn't bother going to the crawling space. I'm planning to do bathroom remodeling and I wish I could find somebody like to do the job."

"Job originally consisted of just the living and dining room. Due to a set $950 minimum for the job, the garage ceiling was added to make up the difference. Appointment was set two weeks in advance. Workmen came on time and finished in about five hours. Did a very good job. After the floors were refinished and rooms painted (month and a half later), I found that one of the wall light did not work and called to report it and a representative came to check it out and has contracted an electrician to repair the broken wire. "

" gave me a bid, and I chose over others b/c he exuded experience. I had to do the job when my neighbors were away, so I booked it 1.5 months in advance and told time was of the essence. He said they'd arrive at 8:30 a.m. and I should save parking for their truck. I did, with my car, but they did not arrive, and after two hours I had to move my car or get a ticket. When I called to see where they were, they'd stopped to do another job! They finally arrived at 11:30 and ate lunch. After getting to work, they stopped after an hour because they'd run out of cellulose! The worker called , who told him in Spanish to just finish with fiberglass!!! If I hadn't investigated why they stopped, I might never have known they planned to use a material that doesn't provide as good sound insulation and isn't as green. That's dishonest. When I called and said I wanted cellulose, per contract, he gave me grief. After complaining to the office, they credited $150."

" was excellent: very professional and incredibly focused on both the big picture and the small details. His crew was highly skilled and they were on time, every day. scheduled the job so well that in three months of work, there was only one day when there wasn't someone on the job. He also has a creative eye for design, which made my project turn out even better than I had hoped. Even with my 99-year-old house and the mysteries behind the walls, the final tally came in very close to his original budget. I lived in the house during construction, and every day the crew cleaned up to make it as livable as possible. 's original bid was higher than the others I received, but I feel pretty sure the others would have ended up costing as much through change orders. Compared to friends' experiences with contractors who stuck them with huge cost overruns and months of delays, I am thrilled with my results and will recommend to anyone who asks me for a reference."
