"Excellent! They were on time
arrival and worked very efficiently through the day. They did a great job in both prep and site clean up." Very courteous & friendly and treated us with respect.

-Bill & Lynne B.

was very professional, responded within a day or so of my request for services, and was able to some just a few days later, dependent on" my schedule. He came on time, showed me my options and discussed the pro's and con's of them, and set up a date and time to do the work, which was only a few days away. He again showed up on time, did an excellent job of applying the product, and cleaned up after himself. The film looks great, clear, but definitely cuts the intense light and heat that was coming into my skylights and front windows.

Angie's Answers

Hello - I hope my answer will help point you in the right direction.

The reason you're having a hard time getting clear information is because there are hundreds of companies saying their window is the best. There are probably millions of different features you can choose to have for your windows and in price ranges from $169-$1200 (per double-hung window).

I've been in the business for 15 years and have seen many different window products from many different dealers and manufacturers. This all comes down to: "what's important for you and your home?" If you want a strong warranty from a company who has a full-time service department to give you piece of mind and service your windows should needs be, or are you looking at only those companies who offer true wood interior windows that you can paint or stain to match the home decor? Whatever is your hot-button, then that's where you want to start.

I would recommend you first choose how you want your new windows to look. Wood-interior with vinyl clad is only offered by certain companies, while there is a vinyl woodgrain finish to give you similar results without the maintenance. If you're only looking for a white interior and don't want the maintenance, a fiberglass or vinyl window would be the best choice from what is offered in the market today (vinyl will be less expensive - not necessarily cheaper quality). If you are going to change out a window to a french door and a door to a window, then you WILL NEED to find a contractor with some carpentry experience. Some companies will tell you upfront that they do not handle those sorts of remodeling projects due to the complexity and time it would take to get it complete.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to personally help you with your project as we work in the New England Area. However, if you wish to talk further, please feel free to email me at: sven@ritewindow.com and I'll be happy to let you know our prices for what we offer so you can compare and hopefully find a similar company to do the work for you near the Austin area.

Get your roofer back out there.  Course of shingles above the window need to be pulled, self sealing flashing, drip caps, and counter and step flashing are going to be required here.

This is a flashing issue as the window connects to the mansard roof surface.

Condensation and a leak are two different and very noticeably different (i.e. volume) things.

Flashing and roofing on Mansards can be tricky but is sounds very much like a roofing issue.

For a broken window (or leaking seal in multi-pane unit), for a standard roughly 2x3 foot window, can run from low of about $75-125 for single pane to more like $200-300 range for triple pane, depending on construction and any special ultraviolet or heat reflective coatings. If a removeable window unit, of course cheaper to remove it and take to replacement glass place then have them come out, measure glass size, order glass unit, then come back to install.

If taking in yourself, commonly they can do single-pane in an hour or two, but count on a week or so typically for sealed double or triple pane unit to come in, so you will have to seal the opening in the interim. That is an advantage of having them come out - they measure and determine type of unit on first visit and can seal with tape and plastic sheeting (if you have not already done that), then come back with new unit and install a week or two down the road - but you are not stuck with an opening in the wall for a long time.

Much easier to scratch and typically not as good a finished quality as compared to glass.

Benefits are the resistance to breakage as mentioned by LCD.  Any glazing shop should be able to re-create that panel.

Thermal numbers look okay when looking at the NFRC.

Do you have any other data on them?  Air infiltration, Design Pressure, Visible Transmittance, and Condensation Resistance are all good evaluators.

Air infiltration rate is way high at 0.21.

It may look nice in person but the performance numbers are below average.

Window Tinting Or Film reviews in San Francisco

I can't speak for the past, but at this point in time
San Francisco Window Film Companies Provider Name Locked
is a full on sham company. The owner, who publicly shares he is the owner,
San Francisco Window Film Companies Provider Name Locked
did everything possible to
San Francisco Window Film Companies Provider Name Locked
the bid for our construction project.

Once he won the project, he took our deposit of nearly $15,000 and stopped communicating with us. The project was high profile and needed a quick turn around. Once we realized he wasn't going to be able to make the deadline (he had not selected anyone to work on the project 2 weeks after signing the contract) we agreed with him on the phone to part ways and he would repay our deposit.

Since then we can't get ahold of him and he is not repaying our deposit.

The amount of money he took from us is a life changing amount and I would encourage anyone to stay far away from this company and their owner. I sincerely hope he turns his company and his life around, because this is a sad situation for all.

Everything went exceptionally well. Many thanks to the manager that we communicated with over email and text. If even double checked the installments from his team which was very helpful.
- Gordon R.

I went in for a broken screen. The gentleman helped me right away by taking down measurements and worked on making my screen while i waited. I didnt have to come back and it was ready within minutes. I was blowen away at how fast and great his work was. Excellent work and great customer service.

was a very enjoyable process, from the moment I called to the moment they finished cleaning my home. I really enjoyed working with the office staff, they were attentive & have great attention for detail. I just loved the cleaning ladies which cleaned my home as well, so proficient, yet delightful at the same time. The ladies also went above & beyond cleaning my home. I will definitely use this company on a regular monthly basis. RECOMMENDED!

the installer was efficient, curious, and professional.

recommended a window company to replace a fogged window panel before applying the Vista film to that window and the installer returned shortly after its installation to complete the job. The Vista film has made a huge difference already in protecting my art work and furniture without the need to close drapes and shades plus it has reduced the heat level in our home. I actually was able to turn the thermostat up by a few degrees. The safety and security film is an added bonus in giving us peace of mind while traveling away from home and also during severe tropical storms. We have an older home without the benefit of storm shutters.
I rate my experience with both the sales rep and the installer as A++. No complaints our end. All my calls were returned promptly and I highly recommend these folks.
- sherry C.

We were very pleased with the professional way the job was estimated and completed. Both the estimator and installer were pleasant and efficient. We couldn't be happier with the results, especially in the current hot weather.

Horrible. I left a deposit for shower glass, 2 mirrors, beveling on another mirror and installation of some glass shelves. I also had someone measure for another property/job and left a deposit on that. Throughout the process of trying to get an installation date, I could not get anyone to return my phone calls. When I finally got someone, I was told it would be installed (I believe) 6/16/15 or 6/23/15. When it came close to the date, I was told they could not do it because a couple people quit and the owner got into an accident. So, I was patient. I was told it "probably" be the following week, that someone would call. They did not call me. I called back, and again, was told to wait. Then, I was told they lost the measurements for the other job. So they came back out and re-measured. This week, Monday 6/29/15, I called to find out when I would be installed. I was told that I would be called back. I was not. I called the following day, late afternoon, and left a message. Basically, if they cannot get it installed, refund my money and I will go elsewhere, despite waiting over a month. I was told it would "probably" be Friday. I asked "probably"? or "will be" as I don't want to wait any longer, I had been patient enough and if I were at least kept in the loop, it would be different, but nobody ever calls me back. I was told it would be Friday. I called back a few minutes later to confirm since 7/3/15 is right before

4, and I did not want to get a call at the last minute that it cannot be installed. They arrived today. Several times, I asked them to be careful with the ceiling fan (brand new) that was installed. One of the guys kept telling me "don't worry". They stood it up on its side and hit my fan and damaged it. As they put the glass in the shower, they damaged the drywall on the ceiling. One of the guys came out and said "I told you we wouldn't hit your ceiling fan". I replied, "actually, you did" and pointed out where it was damaged. Someone in the bathroom overhead and said something to the effect of "you got a large piece of glass and you are complaining about the fan"? And I said, "well, yes, because I told you to be careful and 1/2 inch more to one side you would not have hit it. Should I not be upset about the drywall damage either"? He came out and said "you won't be happy with anything, you're just an @sshole". I asked him, "what is your name?" as I was planning on calling the store and complaining to the owner about how rude his employee was. His response "I am the owner". I said, "and you treat your customers like this?" Apparently he did not hear me, thought I said something else, charged up on me with a puffed chest right in my face like he wanted to fight and screamed "what did you say"?!?! I repeated, that I cannot believe you would treat customers like this. He said "I am not doing anything else for you, ever". I replied "good, and you can cancel the other job". He replied "oh, that is already done". He acted as though he did me a favor bringing in the shower glass and I should accept whatever damage he wants to do ("let the f@ck!
San Francisco Window Film Companies Provider Name Locked
painters fix it, your house isn't complete anyway"). Which is not the point of whether my house is painted or not completely. Drywall damage is TEXTURE not PAINT and I paid to have glass installed WITHOUT damage, not have to have more people come back and fix their work because they can't walk 1/2 an inch more to 1 side where there is plenty of room or push up the ceiling drywall slightly harder to avoid issues. You have 5 guys there, 4 on the glass, one guy could actually DIRECT to AVOID issues. He left, did not complete the job, and has my deposit on another job he will not do (nor would I let him in my home after his threats and profanities). Apparently, I will have to go to small claims court. His attitude was unfounded. He nearly hit me in my own home. His problems with employees, accidents, etc. is not MY fault. don't take out your problems on me. I can certainly understand why his employees are ex-employees. Save yourself hassle. Go elsewhere.

- Adam M.

I wish it went. Great price but won't reply to schedule work. don't waste your time unless you have a big job or you will probably be ignored also.
