"It started out well.
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
got everything together promptly and the work was progressing at a good pace. The removal of the drywall and trim was done by a subcontractor chosen by
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and went well. During this time
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
introduced himself to others as the "GC" and general contractor in charge. The installation of insulation and new drywall was done by another sub contractor, also chosen by
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, who caused significant and substantial damage to our hardwood floors by cutting the insulation with a utility knife directly on top of the floor and leaving over a dozen deep cut
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
in our floors. We texted and emailed
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and sent him pictures of the damage to the floor, he offered no response. Eventually, after many attempts, we were finally able to reach him. We wanted to send the pictures of the damage to our hardwood floor contractor we were using to refinish the floor.
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
lied to us saying he had already sent the pictures to the floor contractor and he said the cut
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
would come out when we refinished the floor. He assured us it wasn't anything to worry about. He was wrong. When we followed up on our own with our floor contractor, they denied
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
assertion that he had already sent photos. Contrary to
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
's assurance, he never folllowed through. We arranged for our hardwood floor contractor,
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and his insulation/drywall sub-contractor to all meet and look at the damage to the floors together. During the time our floor contractor was examining the multiple cut
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and deep gauges on the floors through out the house,
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
just walked outside and talked on his cellphone for a majority of the time refusing to even acknowledge the damage or represent us to his own subcontractor. He just kept trying to minimize the damage to the floors.
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, who had promised to oversee everything and make certain there were no problems did everything to distance himself from any responsibility. The floor contractor said he could not determine what the cost to repair the damage would be until he started sanding the floor but was certain that there would be atleast two large sections that would have to be entirely replaced. At this point
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
said he would compensate us for the damage by not charging us for the drywall that had already been put up. We did not approve of this since the cost to repair the floor was still not known, but almost certainly would be much more than the drywall.
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
did nothing more to resolve the situation at that time. He simply gave us back the house key and said he was quitting and left us there with the subcontractor, whose name we didn't even know at that point.
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
fled and left us to try to work out compensation for the damages with the insulation/drywall sub-contractor on our own, even though this was clearly his responsibility.
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
had hired the subcontractor, had a written contract with him and the subcontractor worked directly under his supervision.
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
's behavior was shocking in his lack of ethics, integrity and cowardice. It was very stressful for us to work it out with the sub-contractor and we were not able to resolve the issue with him. We were stunned by
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
's lack of professionalism and level of dishonesty. We trusted him and he betrayed that trust completely. In the end the damages to the floor cost $1715 to repair and we were also forced to stain the floor a much darker color than we wanted to make the repaired sections match the original ones. We didn't receive a bill for the drywall install but that was worth only around $800 at most, so we were still out a minimum of $900. We contacted
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
again and told him we needed to be compensated for this. He wrote back and agreed to pay it if we would sign some kind of release form to protect him from liability. After this latest promise of compensation, we never heard back from him, another lie, more deceipt and broken promises. When we hired
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
he assured us that he would take care of all the renovation work for us. He would manage all the sub-contractors and make sure they did the work properly. However when they screwed up he never acted on our behalf to make sure that we got compensated for the damage from his sub-contractors. He just kept trying to minimize the damage and deny his responsibility to make it right. The entire
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
to get the floors repaired fell on us. He failed to do his job and has done nothing to make anything right. He left us, a week before we were to move in, with a house that was uninhabitable.

"Vahid and his assistant came twice to repair two sets of sliding doors -- mirrored closet doors and glass patio doors. Our house was built in 1907 and had much deferred maintenance and shifting when we bought it, so that nothing is quite square. By the time we got to these doors, they were so dysfunctional that we were dragging them open and shut. The rollers on the patio doors were completely rusted out and the doors were particularly hard to remove to inspect and repair. They took apart, reassembled, and adjusted both sets of doors, and replaced parts on the patio doors. Now, our kitchen is noticeably warmer because the patio door finally closes properly, and both sets of doors move very easily. The work occupied a number of hours, for which we felt the price was quite reasonable. We are planning a larger remodel, and will definitely call them again."

"Of course, when I started the renovation, I was just going to redo the kitchen floor. It didn't take long before I realized that I moved the wall of one pantry then I could fit the washer dryer in there instead of the back porch and then . . .and then . . . 6 months later I have a new kitchen and 2 new bathrooms. And thanks to Hudson
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, this kitchen is gorgeous. Hudson helped me with reconfiguring the space, including widening a doorway and ripping out that pantry and a closet, then replacing them with a new set of storage rooms. He installed new doorways and moved a window, and added trim. The carpentry was excellent, and he handled details such as making sure the new trim matched the older trim in the rest of the house. He was careful, clever, and fast. Originally I hired him to install a door. 9 months later he's become an essential part of my entire renovation. In addition to working on the building, Hudson also ended up building custom kitchen cabinets for me. I originally got a quote for new cabinetry from Lowes. Because of the 9' ceilings and several odd
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, they were able to cobble together a decent set of cabinets but the fit and quality weren't exactly exciting. In discussing this with Hudson, I discovered that he does custom cabinets and furniture as well as general carpentry. through a collaborative design process I was able to get exactly what I wanted (inset doors, figured cherry, shaker style, to the ceiling, and with special pull-out bins and

racks and such), and with high quality craftsmanship. These cabinets are thoughtfully made down to details such as a row of drawer fronts being cut from the same plank so that the grain is contiguous all along the face of the cabinets. Yowza! I'll be hiring him for custom furniture next. He was an excellent listener, and his background in architecture meant that he 'got' the space and how to work with it, and provided detailed specifications and drawings. He was also great about alerting me to potential design changes and getting my OK. He was generous with his experience and was able to give me several tips with the renovation that were extremely helpful. I felt like I had a partner in this crazy renovation process, and not one more subcontractor I had to watch like a hawk.

"The entire interaction was smooth, and
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
was great about keeping us up-to-date about parts, and possible times to complete the repair. When the repair was finished, the restaurant owner said, "It all seemed fine, but I felt like something was missing....then I realized the door no longer squeaked, which it had done since it was installed." Additionally, as I was not working the day the repair was completed,
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
checked back in with me by phone to let me know the work was complete, and to see if I had any questions.

"I hired
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
on the recommendation of my architect. Because of the age of my home (Edwardian) many of the items were difficult to match and one of a kind. However,
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and Conor (the general contractors and
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
owners) did a terrific job. They finished on time, on budget, and did an incredible job. Any changes to the price and timing were a result of my changes, not theirs. No detail or concern was too small for them. The project was not perfect-nothing of this magnitude ever is. However, whenever there was a problem they were highly professional and responsive to my concerns. In fact, I think they may have undercharged me for their time, particularly the time they took to make me happy with the results. They were on the medium spectrum in terms of price, but well worth the money and the results were top level. Their price also did not change from the contract price-except for additions I added post contract. I have had other remodels in other homes (three, in fact) but by far
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
impressed me with their work. I highly recommend them to anyone who is considering doing a remodel and have done so to several friends, who also have been highly satisfied.

"This is the third time I have used Bill for a project. The first project involved rebuilding front stairs and building a deck at a previous residence. The second project was to install an exterior door in a basement location where no door previously existed. The current project was to install some built-in bookcases in the living room and to install cabinets over our washer and dryer. First the bookcases. Bill had them fabricated by a third party and painted, and then installed them in the living room for a finished look. Once installed we were not crazy about the look because of the way they interacted with crown molding and neighboring window trim. With some additional detail work that was not originally scoped, Bill managed to integrate them beautifully into the spot, re-using some crown molding from another part of the house that served no purpose. In the kitchen, we previously had our washer and dryer sitting open in a back area. We worked with Bill on two potential designs, one that involved him building a closet from scratch, and the other that involved using cabinetry from KitchenSync (where Bill referred us). We ended up going with the cabinet design, and Bill worked together with
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
from Kitchen Sync to ensure that all details were covered. Although we ordered the Kraftmaid cabinetry from Kitchen Sync, there was a certain amount of customization that was necessary for the installation. For example, the washer and dryer themselves were not enclosed in a cabinet. Rather, Bill built a removable frame, and installed double doors (connected with a piano hinge) onto the frame, for a very clean look that gives great access to the washer and dryer. In addition, Bill used other cabinet doors and a cabinet panel to build a small broom closet with shelves next to the washer and dryer, that also allows access to the plumbing, gas line, and dryer vent that are now located in the back of the closet. We also were interested in installing a copper countertop on top of the washer and dryer, which Bill fabricated, had covered in Copper and then installed. This was another great source that saved us a ton of money on the countertop. In the middle of the planning we decided to replace the kitchen floor at the same time. Bill recommended a flooring person who did a great job for a reasonable price, and with whom he coordinated on the installation details. All the projects have come out wonderfully, but just as important Bill is very easy to work with, is fair, honest, and reasonable, communicates issues as they come up, sticks to his timelines, and takes care to ensure that everything is done to satisfaction. Also, he has good knowledge of the trades, and has recommended other professionals to me who have also turned out to be great. Now that this project is done, I plan to use Bill again for the next phase of kitchen upgrades.

"Working with
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
was a very pleasant experience. He is an extremely conscientious and highly skilled European craftsman who provided us with a knowledgeable understanding of the many alternatives and solutions to our problem. Our 35+ year-old front door was warped, quite drafty and our entrance way was tiled up to a rotten thresh-hold.
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
quite expertly replaced the threshold without damaging the grout or tiles. The door has a reassuring air-tight closure and is very beautifully finished as you can see from the attached photographs. The final bill did not exceed the original estimate and
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
was punctual and accommodating to our schedule. I would like to emphasize how pleased we are with
San Francisco Door Installers Provider Name Locked
's service and professionalism. We will be calling him again for another project. I hope you do the same.
