Our 2 jobs were very small. Most people won't take these jobs so it was nice to find

.

came to give us an estimate and proceeded to stay and fix the light. It was hard to remove the cover of the light and after trying for a while he came up with an ingenious idea to remove it. He reseated the light and installed it correctly. While working he used a plastic bag to prevent making a mess even though I told him not to worry I would clean it up. Thanks,

I picked the fixtures, tiles, paint, etc., and
San Francisco Ceiling Fan Installers Provider Name Locked
made suggestions in some places, but most of the stuff he left up to me. I didn't think that I was taking advantage of his design expertise, but in retrospect I realize he made a bunch of judgment calls on his own (fortunately they were good ones). We went out of town for the remodel. When we came back the bathroom was

completion and looked great. Now that it is fully complete we are extremely happy with the work in the bathroom. I have gotten compliments and even gasps from everyone who goes in there (A+). The speaker and Ethernet work was not so glitch-free. We told him we planned to install Ethernet and speakers eventually and he said he had expertise in doing that kind of work, so we decided to let him do that too. I didn't notice that this work wasn't listed in the contract, however, and when we returned a lot of it was not done or was done improperly. We were going to mount speakers on our walls, but

convinced us it would look better to do in-walls. We bought some nice speakers for $2000, but then

discovered that our walls were problematic, didn't know how much it would cost to install them, and basically didn't want to bother (he was getting very busy with other projects at that point). I had to go elsewhere to get the job done.

did install one set of speakers, and even one that had a problem; one of the speakers was almost inaudible. They returned to fix that and now it is fine. Finally, despite our leaving diagrams showing exactly where we wanted Ethernet ports, and our insistence that we wanted CAT6 wiring, we came home to find an electrician installing only one CAT5 line, and that in the wrong place. Again, he was doing the job as it was described in the contract, not as we had later discussed, and again I take responsibility for not checking fully. In any case, I'd give the speaker and Ethernet work a C, and that might be overly generous. This is reflected in my grade for quality and responsiveness, which would have been an A if I graded only on the bathroom portion of the job. In the end we got everything the way we wanted it, so I'm happy. I will definitely use

again for his core competency, creating fabulous bathrooms, but I would find a specialist for wiring for Ethernet and speakers.

2 weeks ago Ertan gave me an estimate ($550 and 4 hours of work). Last week I found and purchased lights I liked, sent him an email, made an appointment for this morning, and today it took him and his assistant exactly 4 hours to do all the work. He is friendly, easy to work with, careful to put plastic down and clean up any debris, and I'll be calling him again next time I need an electrician.

I called the number on a Friday and
San Francisco Ceiling Fan Installers Provider Name Locked
returned my call that evening setting up an appointment for Sat. at 4:30 p.m. He informed me his rate was $65/hr. Knowing that there was 1 posting on Angies that reported him as a no-show, I called him at 4:40 to check if he was still coming. He said he would be there at 5 p.m. At 5:15 I called him and he assured me he was on his way. I stepped out and got a sandwich for dinner and brought him back one to - if he ever showed. At this point I was desperate because the house was being turned over to the new owners and these repairs were in our contract...at 6

showed up, ate his sandwich and went to work - at this point, two fixtures were outside and now it was dark so it made them difficult to see. I held the shop light for most of the time, picked up the screws he dropped and cleaned up the two light bulbs he dropped and broke. For 2 hours work ($130) he wanted 200 (because the work was risky, "he could have dropped a light fixture").
