Everything went really well.
and his help are very professional doing great work. I would highly recommend
/ Patio Guy to anyone interested in a patio cover. His estimate was significantly less expensive than several other vendors, and yet the workmanship was top notch. It is rare to get both great value and high quality in the same package.

I am a former small-business owner with reasonable, but also exacting, expectations and standards. It is rare that I have had a contracting experience that I would be able to give all A's in a service rating, but
/
in San
gets an A+ in all categories! I contacted them through Angie's list and received a phone call from the owner/manager,
to set an appointment within just three days. When he came to do the estimate,
was on-time, listened carefully to what I wanted done, thoroughly explained the features of Alumawood patio covers, reviewed all the design and color options, took measurements, and laid out the project process and timing. For a reasonable extra charge, he added a design change that I wanted to do. The very next morning, he emailed a detailed project proposal for my review. We scheduled a start date for the next week. On the day the project started, his crew showed up exactly on time and completed the demolition of the existing, termite-ridden, wood patio cover. They worked steadily through the day, in extreme heat, removed the old patio cover and hauled away everything, leaving the backyard absolutely immaculate! For the next 2 days,
and his crew installed the new Alumawood cover. Mr.
and his crews were very professional, worked really hard, even in 100-degree heat, and completed the entire project and demolition in just 3 days, leaving me with a beautiful new patio cover and an immaculately clean work site. On the last day, we noticed that there was one cap missing on one of the lattice pieces and the very next morning, they came and installed it... And I didn't even have to call, or remind them, or follow-up...it was just DONE! I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants a job done that will reflect the pride of ownership and craftsmanship that shows in the work of
, his staff, and

Demolition of one patio and construction of two patios, including concrete, alumiwood and electrical fan and lighting. Very good design and execution. Clean and on schedule. Made adjustments as required or requested. Only issue was their concrete crew poked a few small holes in patio screen door. I highly recommend them. Best experience we've had with a remodeling company.

was very polite and professional. The estimate was fair. I did not use his services as the location of his company made it difficult to connect.

I made the appointment for a sales rep to come to my house with the understanding that my husband works and would not be home. They called an hour before the appt. to confirm and when I told them my husband is not here they called me back minutes later to cancel. Someone has to pay the bills. I make all the home imporvement decisions on my own. My husband pays for them. It works for us

I bought a house as an investment and rented it immediately with the proviso (and a kickback in the rent) that the construction would be ongoing during the first month of their tenancy. The house was built in 1951 and although it is a well built sturdy little place, the bedrooms, closets and only bathroom are pretty small. On the advice of several real estate pros I decided to add a bathroom and enlarge one of the bedrooms. The renovation would draw higher rent and increase the value of the property. With my limited experience I was apprehensive and cautious about choosing a contractor. I called several referrals but wanting more estimates, I hunted on my own. I found

on Service Magic.
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
responded quickly and came to the house to offer a bid. Of the 10 contractors I met with, I reviewed 6 serious proposals.
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
’s was on the low end. His proposal was serious, professional & all-inclusive. It was not of the glitzy type in a laminated folder. I narrowed the prospective contractors and started looking for references (angieslist, yahoo, etc.) and reviews. As I have come to rely on internet reviews, I was dismayed and somewhat leery when the only info I could find about
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
was from Service Magic (my original source) and his own pre-fab website. Still, I had a good feeling about him so I asked him for references. He sent over nine names/numbers of past customers. I called every single one and based on their verbal reviews, I was sold. These people loved
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
! They were enthusiastic about his work, his work ethic and his price. They could not say enough good things about him – it was crazy, most of them invited me to their homes to see the work he had done. Now I know why. He has pride in his work and cares about the customer. By his own admission he is not internet savvy hence the limited internet presence.
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
was a joy to work with. His communication was excellent; he either answered his phone or called me right back. I got more than my money’s worth; he did a lot of little things at no charge and is an experienced craftsman. Throughout the project he had ingenious ideas to enhance the living area.

San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
had the idea to wall off the closet in the master and open the space to the adjoining bedroom which resulted in a full-length closet in the adjoining bedroom. It was an ingenious use of the space. In the master, he added a small walk-in. Having the large closets in 2 bedrooms immediately made the house more functional and appealing to a prospective renter and buyer.

Even though we started during the holidays, the addition was completed in a timely, efficient manner.

and his crew remained respectful of the tenants. He is the consummate professional and assumes responsibility for every aspect of the job. I will definitely use
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
in the future; I actually am more ambitious about buying another property because I have a contractor I can trust! PS:
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
works with his brother. They are both

The sunroom was a significant imporvement over the older style, especially in temperature control, rain water channeling (built in gutters), and overall design. Due to a pre-existing water line for an exterior garden hose,
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
had to design and install a wood enclosure to hide the line. After the complete installation of the sunroom, we caulked and painted the enclosure ourselves to make it less noticeable (stood out compared to stucco wall and sunroom manufactured walls). There may have been a more elegant solution to the pipe issue, and we would have paid more money for such a solution. But I understand this is a sunroom company, and not a plumbing company so this is a minor issue (maybe they could subcontract in the future). Overall
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
did a great job.

The installation was very rushed and not well done.. Only one installer,
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
, did the job instead of two installers as according to
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
he had been expecting. The installer spent half a day removing the old patio structure and the remainer of the day plus about 4 hours the next day to finish installing the new cover. He was very rushed as he had to get back to the office - something about money - by noon the second day and also had other appointments scheduled for that afternoon. The salesmen had sold me a patio cover of the same width as the old wood one that had been attached to the roof rafters tabout 18 inches outside of the corner of the house.
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
, the "engineer" then arrived prior to ordering the material to review the salesman's estimate and confirm installation. I paid for this width. This was not going to work according to the installer as the new cover would be attached to an aluminum track which is attached to the house wall. The patio roof width was then shortened to end at the corner of the house. The installer then did not measure properly the width of the patio roof installation including including the two side beams. There is an outside 2"x61/2" beam at each end. The end of this beam sticks outside the corner of the house about 1/2" instead of being flush with the corner. I was also told by the salesman, confirmed by
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
, the "engineer", that the patio cover needed three posts, which I paid for - one at each end and one in the middle. This was not necessary according to the installer. He only installed a post at each end. The installer asked how far in I wanted the posts from the
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
. I told him 12 inches. He installed the posts 7 1/2 inches from the
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
. The installation of the posts was a shoddy one. The posts consist of one 4"x4" post attached to a 2"x61/2" post. There is supposed to be no space between the attached posts so it would have a natural look. The installed posts have a space of more than 1/8" in certain locations. There is a seam on one side of the 2"x61/2" posts. Three of the four posts are installed so the seam faces out. One post has the seam facing the middle of the patio and is very noticable when looking at the patio even from the inside of the house. I was sold and paid for 2 sky lights - each $600.00. The skylights are made of some type of flimsy material which is apparently very hard to install. The installer tried for over one hour to install the first one. When it was installed, it was scratched up. We agreed he would remove it and install the patio roof without skylights. He fortunately had the extra 8" roof slats to use which had been left over when the width of the roof was decreased. There are numerous scratches in the white paint that the installer did during the installation. I was given a can with white spray paint after the completion of the work. I am going to somehow have to extract paint from the can so I can spot paint the scratches using a regular brush or sponge brush. The patio roof slats are attached to the 3"x8" cross beam with hexhead screws screwed in from above. This was also a shoddy job with about 2/3 of the screws installed with a rubber washer. The remaining 1/3 had no rubber washer. Some of these were also a smaller size than the rubber washer ones. The whole purpose of having a roof installed instead of lattice slats is get shade and to keep the patio floor dry during rain. There is up to an 1/8" space between the side beams and the 8" slats and also between the outside of the rain gutter and the cross beam. This defeates the whole purpose of having a rain gutter. I poured a little water on top of the roof. It dripped right through which obviously will happen when it rains. The rain gutter has a noticable
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
in it that can be seen even from the inside of the house. Late in the afternoon of the first day, after the installer and I had agreed to eliminate the skylights,
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
, the "engineer", showed up unannounced and had me sign an "Unconditional waiver and release upon final payment and completion certirficate for property improvements" form. The release includes the elimination of the skylights and decreased width of roof to the
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
of the house. A refund for cost of the unnecessary - not installed - third post, the mis-measurement of the width of the roof and the ridiculously flimsy skylights was never offered.
San Diego Sunrooms Provider Name Locked
also asked me to sign off on the final credit card authorization, which I was stupid enough to do.
