San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
Grant and his crew have performed several projects on our home beginning in the fall of 2011 through the spring of 2013.
We started with leaks around several windows that required extensive weatherproofing and new redwood residing; then a leaking small roof-top patio that required waterproof re-flooring. All projects were finished timely, on budget and to our ultimate satisfaction. Satisfaction on the small roof-top patio involved a small area, where the water was causing serious interior
staining and which job had been attempted by two others unsuccessfully.
We then embarked on replacement of 13 custom size/shape single-pane windows for duplicate sized dual-pane windows. Due to extensive termite damage the project morphed from window replacement into windows plus a whole-roof replacement - shake shingle for fire retardant tiles.
Finally, we had
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his crew remove interior wall-to-wall carpeting in several rooms and refinish one large room that has unique redwood flooring.
Through all these projects we have been very happy with estimates, progress reports, and outcomes.
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his team are very professional and quick to respond to calls or messages. Also, he works well with clients when things become problematic, as all jobs do. Our jobs have run the gamut from very small to the god-awful "drape your house in plastic
while we take the roof off your open beam ceiling house." In retrospect we couldn't have been in better hands.
As we plan our next project,
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
is on standby for our call.

They've called me back three times to make sure everything is still alright over here. They were just the greatest of guys, it's hard to find people like this today. Each one of them did a great job. They were like a team here when they were together though they do have their own separate work. They don't do anything unless they get your permission first. When they cleaned up they put everything in the garage and when they were done they put my garage back together so well, it was better than what it was before! They took drives around my neighborhood too to make sure my house color would match others and yet still be unique.

The project was completed on-time and under budget. I could not be happier with
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
.There team of guys are friendly respectful and will not disappoint. There quality and working knowledge is obvious. From start to finish they are by far a step above other contractors I have used. I recommend giving them a call before before deciding on any construction project in your home.

I purchased a 50+ year old home As-Is from the original owner to use as a rental property. Although the garage framing was in good shape, it looked like a complete tear down - Gutters rotted through in places, plants and even a tree growing out of them, rotten fascia boards some of which were hanging off the building, animals had eaten huge holes in the back side of the garage in order to nest inside, and there was significant water damage to the siding on the lower half of another side. It was no surprise when the Village required me to fix it within 30 days of closing. However, not wanting to spend $10K to build a new garage for a rental property (even though more than 1 contractor recommended that I tear it down) I hired Brookside to do the best they could. Holy cow did they do a fantastic job!!! And
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
from Brookside made everything happen in the 30 day time frame I had - and this included the week it took me to get estimates from multiple contractors and sign a contract.
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
also pulled the required permit, juggled his schedule to fit me in ASAP, his workers installed the siding on the 2 hottest days of the year (even after warning me that they may have to stop half way through the day due to the extreme heat,) and made sure I passed the inspection on the first try. I couldn't be happier and at least 4 neighbors have stopped me to comment on how nice the garage looks. THANKS Brookside!!!

Project went well and on budget.
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
was pleasant and easy to work with. He was good at solving problems and giving me options when I wasn't sure what would look better. The variety of window sizes and shapes was often a challenge, especially when many weren't square or level, but he dealt with them and I was very happy with the final results. The project went longer than expected, partly because I added the new door and overhang. He also did a good job cleaning up during the project and at the end. I would definitely recommend him and use him again for another project!

Knight, who works for
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
, did all of the work and was very concerned with it being done correctly. There was some initial confusion regarding the materials - I thought he would arrive with all materials on the first day, but I had to go get the shingles. Not really his fault though, since only a two places in San

carry the type that I needed. He was on time every morning and cleaned up the workplace each evening.

The job went very well. He responded very quickly to our call and came and gave us an estimate quickly. He was also able to start quickly. His work was neat and tidy and he covered up exposed areas very carefully. I was very pleased with the result.

To echo one of the other comments left w/ angie's list, I say also this was the worst home services company I've ever dealt with. Unbelievably poor supervision of workers. Hired subcontractors who didn't know their job, didn't supervise them properly. My questions were ignored. Treated customers like idiots. No communication as to when workers were showing up, when they were leaving, who was going to clean up. Sunny days went by w/ no work done because company thought it might rain. Workers left personal trash and failed to clean up after themselves until I threatened to withhold further payment. After numerous calls of complaint, the owner of the company,
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
farar, finally came out for a look. She agreed the job had been botched, but offered various excuses and a small reduction in the contract. I finally said I would pay only for the actual coating and prep work to my house but not for any of the additional work, as it was done so poorly. This was a wretched experience.

I first called another painter who had done a little work for us many years ago; he came to our house and discussed the project and gave us an estimate. We were concerned about a solo painter handling this big project within a reasonable time frame, and so after extensive research about painters on Angie's List, I called
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
and one other painting company.
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
's estimator,
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
, answered immediately and scheduled a time to come to the house. I left a message at another painting company from Angie's List and received a call back the next day informing me that the earliest appointment would be two weeks later. I made that appointment but after our detailed meeting with
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
, I cancelled the estimate appointment with the second firm since we then had a good idea of the scope and cost of the projects.
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
was incredibly knowledgeable and offered many suggestions. He walked around the house exterior to evaluate the condition of the wood and the scope of the project,. He noted some significant termite or dry rot on fascia and rafter tails -- some of which we had not been aware of -- and suggested that we contact
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
of Best-Rate Wood Repairs to handle the repair and/or replacement of the affected pieces. He said that his crew could repair and fill small areas but Best-Rate has the expertise for the more significant problems. The solo painter (above) figured he could do all the repairs himself with Bondo but by then we knew that
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
had more experience and so we followed
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
' suggestion: before
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
painters arrived, we had Best-Rate complete this work (see separate review).
Regarding the interior: I explained that various areas throughout the house needed touch-ups (scuffed, damaged, dented walls, bannisters, railings and doors, and perhaps some repair of 1-2 areas that might require repainting one wall. This required different paint colors and finishes. We did not want complete rooms repainted nor did we want to move any major furniture (e.g. a grand piano, two large area rugs, three sofas) for the job. Obviously I was perfectly happy to remove breakable objects, lamps and other items that would get in the way.
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
suggested the "Painter for a Day" flat rate program and explained how it would work best for us, saying that all the little details and finishes take more time than painting entire walls of empty rooms.. He also suggested that the painter could probably clean off the dirt surrounding the heating vents instead of painting these areas . (I had tried doing so but with little success, but he said they have products specifically suited for the job, and this would save time and money.) "Painter for a Day" was perfect for the interior.
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
also explained how
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
operates, with a designated foreman for both the exterior and interior; the foreman would be in charge, communicating with me on all facets of the project. managing the crew and making sure all is done properly. Shortly after our meeting
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
emailed us two estimates, one for the exterior, a separate "Painter for a Day" for the interior, plus several sheets of information regarding the projects. These were very thorough and helpful as they delineated responsibilities, underscoring the professionalism of the company.

The estimate was close to that of the solo painter, with the advantage of
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
's greater expertise and professionalism, and having a foreman and 2-3 painters on the project, all insuring that the job would get done right and would not drag on. We faxed our acceptance on a Friday afternoon and on Monday morning the scheduler called us regarding timing. She understood our needs and said she would call us back as crews became available, making sure to schedule us as soon as possible after Best-Rate's repairs. She got it done: Best-Rate finished on that Friday and
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
started the following Tuesday.
Foreman
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
arrived promptly at 7:00 AM and walked both the exterior and interior projects with me. He told me how he operates and what to expect, and I told him that I would move potted plants and garden furniture outdoors; breakables, lamps and other items in the interior; and provide a complete list of all paint colors and finishes for both the exterior and interior. He used my spreadsheet to order paint for the exterior. At one point during the exterior work he asked me to show him the paints we had on hand for the interior, advising me on quantities, colors and finishes of additional paints I should buy at the store on the weekend. Throughout the exterior and interior projects
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
continually communicated with me so that I could plan ahead and that he could avoid unnecessary problems. 3-4 painters completed the exterior in 4 days. It looks just wonderful. I did not need to be home the entire time as
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
was in charge. I am sure that all of
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
's foremen are excellent, but
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
is not only a very experienced painter, but his friendliness and open communication were key to getting this job done well -- so special thanks go to him.

San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
completed the interior himself in approximately 1.5 days, working carefully and efficiently.. I stayed home both days for the interior as he needed me to show him what needed work and in which colors and finishes. I had made two copies of my color/finish spreadsheet and had already affixed blue tape all over the place but he said that this teamwork allowed him to open a color and paint everything requiring that color/finish at one time. He worked color by color in sequence throughout the house, completing the job more efficiently and saving us money. For example: he repaired a crack above a wide doorway and then repainted the entire wall, working carefully around the piano which could not be moved. He put three coats (instead of the usual two coats) on our front door in the color we wanted but in a different finish which he said would not chalk up. He was able to clean off the dirt around almost all the heat vents (just as
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
had predicted), repainting the areas around only two vents. He repainted one small wall in the front entry hall, but was able to feather paint over scratches and dark
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
on other walls. The interior looks terrific, too. The "Painter for a Day" is an excellent, cost-effective way to get this type of tedious job done.
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
and the crew were very polite and respectful of our home and property. We gave them access to a restroom on the main floor. We gave them the garage so they could store the paints and other items inside, and they stacked ladders neatly on a patio. They swept and cleaned up daily.
One of the most surprising aspects of the job was that
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
went above and beyond. When the crew painted the fascia,
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
and wood frame around the garage door,
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
had them paint the gutter above in the same color. Gutters were not in the estimate but this small detail made the front of the house sparkle.
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
had to pressure wash the wood siding, fascia,
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
and patio shade cover on the pool deck. When
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
was doing the estimate I had asked him to include a quick pressure wash of the pool deck itself to get rid of the mildew and dirt around the pool drains. No problem. When I returned one afternoon
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
showed me the clean pool deck -- and proudly pointed to a white resin patio lounge. I blinked -- it was BRIGHT white! He had pressure washed it, too. This may seem like a small thing to mention, but it is significant that
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
management not only ensures that the major tasks get done right [through detailed estimates, the right number of skilled workers who arrive on time, strong foremen, proper products for each task], but that
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
also encourages their foremen to take care of small things that, when added up, make a difference, too. My husband and I appreciate this attitude of customer service and exceeding expectations. We definitely plan to call
San Diego Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
again in a few years when we need more painting.
