San Diego Pediatric Dentists Reviews

"Did diagnostic x-

, answered many questions. Postponed teeth cleaning for first visit. Works very well with children and the whole visit was very pleasant."
"This was a fantastic visit! The best dental visit I've ever had with a pediatric dentist (or adult dentist for that matter). This is the first time we did not have to wait hours to be seen! We waited only as long as it took for me to fill out our initial paper work. You could tell they made a big effort to cater to kids and thought of every detail, or at least those that I think important.
Ok in to the details:
The outside of the facility old but clean and on a main street(we were at the Kensington branch). There was parking off the street and in a free parking lot (possibly for an apartment bldg) a short walk down the street.
The inside of the facility is clean, organized and beautiful. The kid's waiting area was well organized and clean!! There were a variety of books and toys for younger kids. There was also an Ipad station and big flat screens playing Disney movies. The bathrooms were spotless and well stocked, with a kid sized and adult sized toilet.
The exam/cleaning area were also spotless. It was an open bay kind of area, with four stations and benches on the perimeter for parents. They have TV's in the ceiling for each exam chair (though they are more like padded tables), with separate headphones for each. Each child got to pick from a variety of movies (mostly Disney) to watch during their cleanings.
The receptionist was friendly and efficient.
The hygienists were professional and efficient as well. They were very obviously accustomed to working with young children. They explained everything to the children as they were working. They sanitized all cabinet handles, equipment ect after use or had disposable single use attachments and changed gloves when necessary. After each child's exam, they gave me a summary of what they found and tips on how to improve.

was super friendly, professional and energetic. She had a great manner with the children and also explained all that she was doing as she worked. She answered all my questions thoroughly. I did not feel rushed.

A couple of caveats:
I marked an A for availability, but we did have to wait for 2 weeks for the appointment. This has been the norm for us in the past, not sure if this in the norm for everyone. (and they do have to find a block for 3 kids.)
We were one of the first appts of the day, 830 am, so that may account for the minimal wait. Hope not.

This was our first visit so I do not know how the billing an so forth will work out.
This was a great visit!!
"My son had an excellent experience. I was very nervous that having a cavity filled at such a young age would make him fear the dentist, but the caring, professional staff put us both right at ease. They administered Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen during the procedure, gave him eye protection, headphones and a screen to watch. By the end of the procedure he acted as though nothing had happened. He has no fear of the dentist. I was also extremely impressed by the education about plaque, brushing, cavities, etc provided directly to my children in a manner they could understand during our regular exam visit."
"We have been seeing Dr.

since our son's first dental checkup at 20 months old. The facilities are very nice and comfortable for kids, the dental assistants are very nice and gentle. Dr.

has given good advice, and is available over the phone to discuss potential emergencies. He is very good with kids. The kids get a

"The office is geared toward children (video games, movies, etc.). The office staff is very pleasant. Dr.

is great with my kids. He's so gentle that my kids have had fillings and still are not afraid to go back. They have toys and movies in the lobby and little toys for the kids when they are done. The only issue I ever had with them was how they handled our insurance. We have a "preventive only" plan which means that my insurance company does not pay for anything except exams. While I pay 100% for fillings, most dentists would honor the in-network rate, since they are considered an in-network provider.

did not. While this is technically correct according to the insurance company, I decided to switch dentists to one that would honor in-network rates. They were fair about the whole thing and honored the rates for historical work, but would not honor the rates going forward. Other than that they were great.
