picked up our furniture in a timely manner. It was pretty messed up, with the finish chipping off, etc.
brought us back a beautiful set! The color was a deep oak, and just what we'd asked for. There was a lot of detail on the furniture, with sides that pulled out, so it wasn't an easy job. He had to take the table apart to take it out of our house. The results are beautiful, with the wood grain showing through, and, as I said, a lovely color.

First, I called two Angie's List companies to get quotes. Both were similar in price but
San Diego Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
(the owner) of Teak Masters personally came out to my house and answered my call and any questions I had instead of the receptionist who answered the phone at the one company I called.
I was moving and explained to
San Diego Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
it would be about 2 months before I would be ready to have the set back. He picked up my set and held it for that long without any storage fee. When I was ready to get it back, within 2 weeks it was back to my new house, in PERFECT condition.
San Diego Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
gave me a very good price to come back yearly to keep it in the shape it is now. I have other wood products at my home that I'll have him treat on a yearly basis as well.
The staff who picked up my set and the ones who delivered it back to me were friendly, professional and careful! I would highly recommend

Butler of
San Diego Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
advised me on the purchase of the leather which I wanted to match as closely as possible to the original on the chair. I bought a hide at one of the shops he recommended. I wanted to buy the piece myself to see it in advance and to save time as we wanted to have the chair upholstered while we were traveling. I took the hide to
San Diego Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
for his approval. He examined it very closely on both front and back, and gave his OK. On the appointed day, he picked up the chair, did the work while we were out of town, and returned it when completed, a couple of days after we returned. It looks great!. He took special care to maximize the use of the leather hide in order to get enough material to also recover the back that had a couple of tears. This was not in the original discussion of the extent of the job, but he did this and did not charge anything extra. This is my husband's favorite chair, and he's very happy with the result, as

also added padding for support. We are completely happy with the job, and strongly recommend

's work.

I am sorry this review is so late. I am not sure of the date the work was done.
I always kept our large oak dining room table covered with pads and a tablecloth and then decided that the wood was so beautiful, it should be uncovered. When I did this, I noticed that one end of the table did not fit flush with the leaf next to it. A clamp was missing and the dowels from the end had broken off and therefore could not fit into the holes of the leaf next to it. So there was one part of the table that was 1/8 of an inch higher than the other. I was worried that it might be warped beyond repair. I wasn't sure who to ask to try to fix it.
I had a handyman try to fix our table, and he said it was missing a clamp and he could not find anything that matched to repair it.
When Angie's List had a "Big Deal" for furniture repair, I purchased it for $100 (worth $200). I talked to
San Diego Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
, and our conversation was a bit odd and did not leave me with a comfortable feeling. He wanted photos of what was wrong, did not want to come out to look at the table, and said he would get back to me. I had to call him a few days after I sent the photos, because I did not hear from him, which did not add to my comfort level. What I later found out is that he subcontracts/refers out certain work to another gentleman. He was probably waiting to hear from the person he subcontracts with to see if he could do the job and
San Diego Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
was probably quite busy himself.
We finally scheduled a date, and a gentleman by the name of
San Diego Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
showed up. He was extremely professional, nice, efficient and knew what he was doing. He replaced the missing clamp, removed an old clamp and replaced it as well, repaired the "tongs" (this may not be the right word, but they are the wooden dowels that fit into the holes of the leaves). He said the table was dry in the area of the sides of the leaves and that I should oil them. He asked if I had any oil, and I had very old sewing machine oil. He said that would work and oiled the sides of all the leaves with his hands and fingers (I was afraid the oil would drip on the white wool carpet below, but luckily he caught some drops just as they were ready to fall--yikes!). It would have been nice if he had brought his own furniture oil and had a plastic dropcloth. This was probably a job that was way below his skill level, but I so appreciated that there was someone who could make my table look right again. He showed me how to oil it myself periodically in the future. He was very complimentary of the table, how sturdy and well made it was and he commented that "they don't make them like this anymore." By the time he finished, the table fit flush and I could easily slide leaves in and out. It took him about 30-40 minutes to repair the table.
In all, I paid $200 for the work, which I thought was fair. However, the Big Deal cost $100 for $200 worth of work. So the work would supposedly actually cost $300, which I think is high for 30-40 minutes of work (although I really am not an expert is this area), and I would have shopped around if I had been quoted $300.

called a few weeks later to ask if everything had gone well, and I said yes, that I was quite pleased. It was nice that he followed up.

The desk is beautiful!! It could not have turned out better and we couldn't be happier! We discussed the color it would be before
San Diego Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
took the desk to work on it and when it came back it was just as he described. His eye is excellent at determining the original undertones of the wood and therefore what the end product should look like, otherwise the piece could look artificial and unnatural.

also picked it up and dropped it off when the work was finished, which was great as we only have Honda Civics that would never fit it. It was also very quick and he even finished ahead of schedule.
