Overall it was a great experience.

We signed the papers agreeing to the work on October 28, 2013.
But from November through February, the project encountered one delay after another. For example, the engineer was at least three weeks late in submitting the original plans (after not seeing the plans in mid-November as I expected,

The bulk of the work was finally done on February 12-13, 2014. But only when the workers were onsite did they tell me that it was impossible to install the sill plates the engineer had specified (for connecting the foundation to the wall) because of insufficient height in our crawl space. This required another round of changes to the plans and another round of permitting. However, the engineer had inspected our house in person and should therefore have known there wouldn't be enough space to do this in the first place. The work was completed on February 24, just one day before our loan expired.
Another surprise was that a portion of our porch steps had to be jackhammered away to make room for the piers--no one ever mentioned anything about that before. That meant we had to later spend hundreds of dollars on concrete work to restore it. In addition, only when the workers were present was it suggested that polyurethane foam should be injected under the front porch, because the piers stabilized only the front
The fellows who did the actual work--the digging, pier installation, foam injection, and so on--were great. I can't in any way fault the quality of their work or their professionalism. Other than maybe being a bit haphazard with restoring the landscaping, they did their part of the job brilliantly. I can't complain (so far, anyway) about the stuff that actually happened to our house.
However, I am not at all happy with

stronger more secure foundation system. Since every quote had different solutions for my issues it’s hard to
compare price since they are not apple to apple comparisons. However with that being said my quotes ranged from 4-10k for repairs to the south wall only and as high as 40k for a complete new stem wall and pier system.
I researched for a couple weeks before deciding to go with the
7 ft, all permits, and a transferrable lifetime warranty.
This system eliminated the need to replace the stem walls as this new system would secure and support the home and I felt it addressed most of my concerns for a great price. My only reservation was that this
designed for modular homes. However after doing some research and having several conversations with the owner of
On a side note I could never qualify for home owners insurance through AAA because of my foundation. After
installing the new system I called AAA to have them inspect my new foundation and after conferring with their underwriting department I was finally approved to get my home insured through them.
The 2 things I was not entirely happy with are as follows and were the reason for my B grade under professionalism. They needed to use a vent on the side of the house in order to pass tools and equipment under the house. The wood framed vent was badly damaged and they did not make an attempt to repair it. My other concern was in regards to a plumbing leak that was caused when
one of the guys bumped into a pipe. They did make every effort to address the issue immediately and make the repair
however about 6 weeks later when we remodeled my bathroom I discovered that this pipe had been leaking steadily for quite some time and the attempted repair of the pipe was a rather lame attempt.
The water leakage caused my bathroom re-model to be delayed almost 2 full days and set me back about $600. In
regards to his crew bumping into a pipe please be aware that the crawlspace under my home is very tight and in some areas less than a foot in height. So the bump was not the issue it was the bad repair job that frustrated me.
Overall I gave the company and A grade and would recommend them to anyone with a pier and post system in need of repair. Art was the owner and main contact, he was readily available and easy to speak with. The 4 guys that performed the work were all great. The entire job took three days to complete. The guys went above and beyond and performed other duties outside the realm of the project. For example it seems the previous owner had the cast iron plumbing system replaced but left everything under the house. The guys pulled everything out for me at my request. Though the initial job description did not include jacking up the home and leveling the floor they did help me by jacking up 2 sections that were a concern to me. They showed up every day between 8:30-9am and left about 5pm. The crew was friendly and easy to chat with. They updated me on a regular basis as the work progressed.
2. does not make excuses if one of his employees drops the ball (i.e.; appointment scheduling miscommunication, service issues, payment/billing issues) He is the owner and he takes full responsibility for his business and who works for him.
How refreshing to meet a friendly, professional business owner with integrity!
Highly recommend you call
We thought we would only need the cracks repaired and were shocked by the cost of the project. But even though it was more money that we had budgeted, we still think it was a good price.
