"I have used this contractor many times over the past 10 years. During most of those years this company has completed work of very good quality; I have been completely satisfied with the results. However, the two most recent bathtub refinishes that they completed were of average quality. Because I am a landlord I almost always have an apartment 'updated' in a one-week turnaround period. That means that when I need a bathtub to be refinished the work must be done right the first time---I don't have time to have a job redone. [The process that they use involves sanding down the old surface and then applying a coat of finishing liquid (epoxy?) over the old surface]. At a minimum, I want the finishing liquid to cure for 72 hours---that ensures that it will last a long time, and it allows sufficient time for the finishing liquid's odor to be eliminated]. New tenants who are moving into an apartment do not want to be told that they can't use the bathtub for a few days. When they move-in they expect (and rightfully so) the apartment to be completely ready for occupancy.
In his defense, offered to come out to see the quality of the workmanship and to make repairs if, in his opinion, they were needed. Unfortunately, by the time he called to arrange to see the quality of the work, the new tenants had moved in and did not want to have their use of the bathtub disrupted. I've been told that the bathtub refinish only requires 24 hours to cure, but I believe a 72 hour curing period is necessary in order for the finish to last a long time.
The problem: there were thick runs of the liquid that, when the work was done, had hardened onto the refinished surface of the tubs."

"My shower was so badly worn that it didn't look good even after being cleaned thoroughly, so I decided to have it refinished. The worker arrived on time and did a great job. It looked much better than I expected, and the was much cheaper than I expected. What more could I ask for?"

"The work looks great, however my interactions with the company did not inspire much confidence. I never feel like I was getting the whole story or given all the information I needed. I needed to have a non slip surface in the tub for my toddler to use, however the option was never presented before hand, and after I was told that I could not install my own as suction cups and adhesives would hurt the surface. The recommendation that was given was to use a towel. They are now telling me that I need to pay more money to have an option that I should have had at the beginning. "

"I called him and he indicated it would be $380 and that it should last 8-10 years with a warantee of 5 years. I made an appointment. He arrived right on time. He immiediatedly informed me that it would be extra money because the tub was peeling. My biggest complaint is I feel he should have indicated this when he quoted the price on the phone, but he did not ask if the tub was peeling. He did explain that the tub would need extra preparation and additional stripper because it was peeling. I agreed to have him do the work. He worked for quite a few hours and the tub looked really good when he had finished painting it (but not quite as good as new but a huge improvement). He indicated he would come back to silicon the edges so I asked for a quote to silicon the kitchen sink. He looked at the job and indicated he would do it at no cost (definitely more than making up for him not telling me on the phone that it would be extra for a peeling tub).
The tub looks almost as good as new (it looked REAL bad prior to the work) and the sink now has new silicon.
I would recommend if you need to get your tub refinished."

"It went really well. He is very nice guy. He did the estimate with us over the phone. He did tell us when the work would be done by and he was able to do it in a timely manner. He is very trustworthy."

" showed up just slightly late but was very conscientious about my time. He prepped carefully and kept things clean. After prepping, he refinished the tub. When I took a look at it, there were some runs where the product was applied a little too thick. cheerfully offered to return after it was dry to correct the minor blemishes. He came back exactly as scheduled, sanded and did touch-up on the areas in question at no additional charge. Unfortunately, the touch up was a slightly different texture than the original, and there are some visible lines from the touch-up if you look closely. The blemishes are relatively minor though and not visible just glancing at the tub. However, it actually might have been better not to do the touch-up. Overall the tub looks fantastic and is a huge improvement over how it looked before, but I'm a perfectionist, and I was a little disappointed the finish did not turn out completely smooth and consistent."

"Art was genial, professional, punctual and thorough. He first came out to identify the problem and cause, and give an estimate. Once the job was booked, he arrived punctually for the job, and completed in the time frame he estimated: One working day. The floor in the shower stall had 4-5 inch or inch and a half long cracks in it. Art sawed out the floor in the affected area (about 1 foot square). It was revealed that the cause was lack of support in the cement foundation when the house was built. The builder jackhammered out the cement to install the drain line and failed to put anything over that big gap, causing the floor to flex and crack. Art put wood support over the drain pipe area, and whatever other material he used. He then replaced the sawed out shower floor piece, and fiberglassed over the entire floor. He matched the color of the shower unit almost exactly. We haven't used the shower yet, but are very happy with the outcome, and his guarantee."

"He refinished the bathtub. It looks fabulous. He doesn't charge $450 to refinish but I had to have him come back after a mini disaster the first evening. He did tell my son to make sure the cats didn't get into the bathroom after he had finished but things happen and I had cat footprints all over the top of the tub in addition to one on the front surface not to mention those little white porcelain footprints going all the way down the hall on my hardwood floors--but I digress. He came back and refinished the and the tub looks like new. Two things I noticed: he seems to run a little late 20 to 30 minutes late and he didn't cover the mirrors in the bathroom before he sanded/sprayed whatever and they were incredibly difficult to clean afterward. But he is a master at tub and I have already referred people to him."

"The project went smoothly. Removal of the existing shower door, prep, and was completed the first day. After the finish dried, the grab bar and fixtures were installed two days later. We are very pleased with the results."
