San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
is a highly knowledgable and talented transmission repair mechanic. He is very honest and called me with all of my options before performing any work and charging me. He gave me other suggestions which would potentially benefit me/save me money as well. His diagnosis was thorough and based on many many years of experience. I have been taking my vehicles to him for many years and I know any work performed will be correct the first time. He has always started, and completed, work on my vehicles in a timely manner. Customer service is very good.

"We retrieved contact information for "
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
" from the AAA approved list of auto shops and checked Angie's List, as well, and saw that they received an "A" rating (there was only one review) so we thought we'd be in good hands. The car would not turn over at all a few weeks ago. It was completely dead. So we got it towed to
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
on Bulverde Rd. on an early Saturday afternoon. *Side note: My husband, a few of his co-workers, and the individual who towed our car all thought that the alternator was the problem. None of these folks were mechanics nor had extensive experience with auto repair.*
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
was our contact person. He's a nice guy but it is very apparent why one of his duties is talking on the phone with customers. He's a very smooth talker. Since they were about to close up when our car arrived at there shop Saturday,
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
said they'd take a look at it on Monday since they were closed Sunday. He called on Monday to say that after hooking our car up to their diagnostics machine they figured out that the battery simply needed to be replaced. We were able to pick our car up that Monday. Within 48 hours the car died again on a Wednesday morning while I was taking my son to school in unusually dense traffic in cold rainy weather. It was towed back to

. I received a call from
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
later on that day and he said that they just couldn't figure out what was wrong with the car but that he wouldn't charge us the time it took for them to test out the car this time around. As if he was doing us a favor? If they hadn't messed up the first time to begin with we wouldn't have had to bring the car back for more "high tech diagnostics". He said that one of the original owners,
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
, would have to come to the shop to check the car out but that he wouldn't be there until the next day. Five days later
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
finally gets to the shop to see our car. Guess what the diagnosis was? The alternator. Their high tech diagnostics machine couldn't figure this out but my husband, his co-workers, and the tow truck guy did? Hmmm. Meanwhile, we are racking up rental car fees which they never offered to help pay until I asked them to help.
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
agreed to pay for 3 out of 6 days worth of rental car fees. We got the car back a week later on a Tuesday. They continue to open up new shops around town. My suggestion to them would be to stop expanding and focus on quality control. Just a few days ago one of the Beldens gave me a call to follow up on my experience. I shared with him our experience and said that we wouldn't be using them in the future. His concern was not that they inconvenienced us or made us pay more money than we needed to. His concern was the "bottom line" ,not what we had to go through to get there, and he kept on saying during our conversation, "But it's running fine now, right?". In my opinion, a reputable reliable company would have apologized for making their initial mistake by crediting us back the money spent on the battery replacement that we didn't even need and paying for all of the rental car charges. This is definitely a "hit or miss" company. Sometimes they get it right and sometimes they don't at the customers expense. These folks are very nice but not very competent.

"I call
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
Transmissions because my vehicle was transmission was acting up. So I had my car towed there for them to check it out. While I was talking with them before they had my car they were the nicest people you would want to talk to. But after they got my car and started to work on it everything changed. Orignally they told me it would be free to diagnose the problem but once they they got my car thats when it went to over $500.00

"I had a headlight that was out and assuming it was a
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
fix my husband changed the lamp. This light lasted about a week or two. Since it didn't last long we thought it might be a short. So, on my way home one evening I called them to see if they could squeeze me in before closing. Since I was just down the road they said to drop by. They took my car back into the bay area and within minutes called me back there to show me what was wrong. It wasn't a short or anything electrical. It just happened that the clip that holds it into place had slipped and caused the lamp to blow out. They showed me how to keep that from happening and sent me on my
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
way. They didn't charge me a dime!! I left thinking, "Wow! They really could have sold me a story and charged me who knows what to fix something that wasn't necessarily a problem." I got home and told my husband what the issue was. He once again replaced the light and we haven't had a problem since. It's nice to know there are still HONEST auto repair shops out there.

"The transmission on my 2007 Ford Taurus went out on my way to work March 16, 2012. I had it towed to my dealership and after a couple of days they told me the transmission would have to come out ($500) and that it might have to be rebuilt or replaced ($3600-3700). A friend suggested I try Patriot Transmission and Automotive Repair. I talked to
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
who was very friendly and answered all my questions. He didn't try to pressure me into making a quick decision. After the weekend (March 19-20), I talked to
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
again and was able to arrange for a free towing (if I got the repairs) of my car across town from my dealership to Patriot. They were able to give me a free diagnosis and estimate the next day. Their price was only $3200 so I was able to save some money. This included a 2 year warranty for my transmission. Two days later the car was fixed and I was able to drive it home and it seems to be working well. All of the staff I talked to were very friendly, professional, and easy to talk to. I didn't feel pressured or patronized like I often do at other auto repair shops. I would highly recommend Patriot Transmission to my friends and family.

"Overall I would say that this was the worst experience that I've ever had going to a Automotive service place. This is exactly why I started doing my own maintenance to my vehicle. Because everyone out there isn't honest or proud of the work that they do. There just out there to make money rather than provide someone with quality service to make you recommend them to other people or for continued buisness. I'm upset that this company came highly recommended to me from several different people both personel and from other service repairmen that caused me s***** service and possibly the only vehicle that my family has to use. I won't ever be using any kind of automotive service place unless its a certified dealer."

"They took the car in and returned it on time, even though they were a man short, due to illness.
The service and professionalism of the staff was outstanding. I do not like dealing with transmission shops, generally, but this shop was great. Checked for any other problems and gave me a verbal report on what they found......nothing, no other problems! They serviced the transmission fluid and filter, while making the repairs, and allowed me to use the Angie's List coupon, saving me $150. I highly recommend this company for any transmission repairs, or any service they offer. They were outstanding and the price was very reasonable."

"My car was constantly needing more coolant and I had heard from several different people that I probably had a leak in my radiator. I was referred to
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
by an ex-coworker. I showed up around 2 in the afternoon and when I brought my car in, the mechanic insisted that I stay to see the problem. Sure enough, there was a huge leak in my radiator. He said that they would call around for the part and have it out as soon as possible. Once he found the part, he gave me the price of nearly $400 to replace the entire radiator. I agreed to have the work done and by 5 o'clock, my car was ready. I was extremely impressed with their timeliness and the mechanic who I primarily dealt with was extremely polite and helpful. They are officially my new mechanic shop!"

"We had been informed by a couple of other repair shops that vehicle required another transmission at cost of $2,800 to $3,500. Due to age of vehicle, we planned to junk it even though the engine and body is in good shape. I decided to try Patriot after reading reviews in Angies list.
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
listened to my concern about investing too much in the car due to age. He offered to remove and diagnose transmission for a mininal charge. I could then decide whether to pursue repairs or not. I was pleasantly surprised the next day when
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
called to advice me only the clutch was required and the transmission was fine. He performed a complete check of the vehicle and provided me a report to allow me to make an educated decision on whether to incur costs to repairs. The repair costs included not only the clutch and flywheel, but also included replacing the engine caskets. The car was ready by the next day. My wife was very excited since she loved her car and didn't want to part with it.

"The job was done the week before Christmas, and was done well. He had to remove the engine, and identified and repaired a couple of broken hoses during the process. The job was done on time and within $100 of the quote. I was extremely satisfied with the level of professionalism and the quality of the job. The proprietor, who actually performs the work, understands that customer service and quality will
San Antonio Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
out over having the absolute lowest price in the long run. If I ever need any other transmission work done, I will definitely come to him first.
