Reviews for San Antonio Pain Management Doctors
This is a long story that continues to grow. I will eventually end up with radical surgery. I have been allowed to choose the type of treatment that I want and guided down that path by the doctor. I am now in Acqua Therapy where I exercise in the pool under the supervision of a physical therapist so I will strengthen my muscles in preparation for surgery next year. The degradation of my spine started in 1966. I was an adrenaline junky in the military. I loved jumping out of planes (military parachutes), and jumped every time I could find a manifest where the jump master would allow me to join them. I went up into the mountains and climbed around with a large pack but no climbing equipment. I took up white water rafting, the meaner the better. I went hiking as often as possible. I enjoyed water and snow skiiing. I spent two years in combat and it was not pretty or easy. At the age of 30, I felt I would live forever. Now at the age of 71, I can see the rough path I travelled. Whenever surgery comes, it will last somewhere between 31/2 hours to as long as 61/2 hours to "fix" me up - correct the scoliosis and stenosis which has overcome me now. It takes 16 months for the nerves to heal. The spaces between the vertebrae will be packed with donor bone and will take 24 months to bind well, if there is no rejection (and it should not be a problem). I will spend one week in the hospital, and two weeks in a rehabilitations facility. I will have the best doctors I can find.
Hopefully, the President will not change the Medicare and Tricare rules so I can afford all of the treatment. I will have to learn to walk again. My companion is pain and anyone who has such problems just accepts that there is nothing that will make it all go away. It is a mental adjustment that one must make. If you are religious, then ask the Lord for all the help you can get.
Do not give up. Life is worth fighting to live!
