"I ordered shutters for my residential home and the owner (Buck
) assisted me with the selection of my shutters. Mr.
even took time to drive over and measure the size of my existing shutters. After the ...more shutters were ready he delivered them to my home. I am very happy with the shutters and with the professionalism that
provided. I would definitely use their service again and plan to recommend them to my friends/co-workers. "

gave a bid of $1600 with a breakdown on labor and materials. Because he did not accept credit cards, we agreed that I would buy the materials (with credit card at Home Depot) and pay him cash for the labor. He had inflated the materials by over $200 and wanted me to pay that overage in addition to the labor. When I asked ...more why, he said it was because he had to meet me at Home Depot and he didn't charge for his time. It did not take any longer to check out for me to pay than it would have for him so I don't understand his reasoning. He said he doesn't like for customers to provide materials because they don't usually order the quality he needs but I bought the top quality paint at Lowe's and the same brand of caulk that he uses. He selected the wood himself. . I reluctantly paid him the inflated overage.. Mr
showed up at irregular times (missing many days in a row when the weather was good) and spent a lot of that time coming inside and chatting with another contractor who was doing interior work. We had several rain days and that delayed some of his work and a plumber was digging under the house so that created some problems with him having access to one small part of the house. The fascia boards are supposed to have mitered corners but he just butted the boards together. When I asked him to correct that and follow industry standards, he said he didn't "bid on doing it right with square corners." When he corrected the corners, instead of replacing the entire piece of wood he just cut off pieces and replaced them so it is pieced together. He removed the drip
and said it didn't need it (not true) and it was very plain that he did not use caulking at all joints (although he said he did). The vents were staggered and not in a straight line. There were some places that did not get paint (on the underside of the fascia boards). When the work was completed, he came by (after I sent an email to him requesting that he haul off the debris) and he hauled off just what he had stacked in the front yard. He had mentioned the debris in the back yard at one other time but he did not walk around the house to gather up the trash/debris. There were two good size stacks he left behind. He did not do any prep work before painting (scraping or washing areas that had what appeared to be mold) and although he said he would do two coats, he did just one coat. I'm glad I bought top quality paint. He dented both of the attic vents with his ladder and corrected one only after I asked him. He left the other one dented and said it was aluminum so I could easily fix it. He is a personable man. "
. The exterior bahama shutters are custom made from western redwood and painted to my specifications. They installed them in brick and adjusted them as per requested. They were very professional and I recommend them to anyone wanting exterior shutters for their home. "
"His labor estimate was much lower than the other Angie's List contractors. He came on time, we went together as agreed to get the lumber in his truck and he worked steadily to get all the work done in a short time.
"Our home was built in 1929 and presented some challenges to take out an old fireplace/bookcase. Rocky tackled the project while I was on vacation for a week. He kept the house clean, turned on and off my alarm, and even watered the plants. Since we have an old historic home he had to deal with everything from uneven floors to old plaster walls. The ...more project was completed on time and with great results. This is no ordinary handyman but someone who takes pride in this work and is a true craftsman. With out a doubt I would recommend him. "
showed up on time and with materials to build our drop ceiling, which he came prepared for materials to do.
He also offered to install a ceiling fan mount and turn the pull string light into a switch for us. We readily agreed and he did the work for $50 extra plus about $10 in materials we purchased while he was building ...more the ceiling.
He then put in proper venting to the outside from our hot water closet, and fixed a couple of holes outside that we needed patched.
We are going to remove the insulation ourselves and install new insulation on the walls, but he referred someone who is going to come and sheetrock and float the whole room for us for a reasonable price so we're going to let them do that job. We would have been willing to pay
to do that as well, but he is a one-man show and finds it difficult to put up the large sheetrock pieces on the ceiling by himself."
"We had an empty space in our wall where we previously had an old heating unit removed and didn't know what to do with. Finally we decided that since it backed up to an existing closet, we wanted to (instead of closing up and wasting the space) incorporate it into that closet by extending the closet.
doubled the size ...more of the closet by doing that, and we no longer have a bizarre empty hole in our bedroom hallway. It took him just over half a day to get the work done. The work was done professionally, quickly, and was very affordable.
We're having someone else come into to texture match and paint later on, but
"He treated our rental home as if it was his own home, as far as his attention to detail and doing an excellent job for us. I am so appreciative of his skillful work, attention to detail, flexibility (regarding scope of work and our requests), promptness in completing work as promised, open communication, and frequent updates of project status and management ...more of this important remodeling project for us. He took the initiative to let me know of any additional problem areas that needed to be addressed.
will be the first contractor we will call if we need any additional work at our rental property."
encountered many problems in doing the work, due to everything being original in an old house. He spent 2 long days completing the job. The finished product is great looking, the attention to detail superb, and the price beat all others I contacted (to include one contractor from Angies list that wanted a whopping $3,000). ...more
is the hardest worker I have seen in years, and is meticulous in his work - plus gives a 2 YEAR WRITTEN WARRANTY ON ALL WORK. If you are looking for an honest company that has prices far below all others - hundreds to thousands lower - and does terrific work, you can trust this one. This is old school work the way it used to be. Just GREAT."
