"Dr Nagda was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and communicated very well. He is very confident in his skills, and deservedly so. He was very clear up front" about the risks and benefits of the surgery, as well as the expected recovery process. Despite discovering during the surgery that the tear in my shoulder was more extensive than expected, Dr Nagda performed a perfect repair arthroscopically without requiring additional incisions. His PA,
, was also very friendly and knowledgeable, although a bit less sensitive with my newly operated-on shoulder than I might have expected, particularly given that she had just had the same surgery herself a few months prior. But that impression may have been exaggerated somewhat due to my not expecting her to fully test my range of motion so soon. The surgery at Mt
Hospital went very well. The staff and facility were excellent. I saw
at
's physical therapy office in Mt
for my PT. She was wonderful to work with - clearly communicating what we were doing, tailoring the therapy to my needs and progress, teaching me the exercises to do at home, and even coming in early or staying late on occasion to accommodate my busy schedule. And all with an amazingly positive attitude.
,
, and the rest of the staff at
PT made my therapy appointments something to look forward to, with a family atmosphere that made me feel relaxed and well cared for. They even worked with me when my insurance company started making things difficult. I would highly recommend Dr Nagda and
, including their PT office, to anyone in need of orthopedic rehab or surgery.

"At the onset of my injury, I was unsure of how I wanted to receive the healing of my fractured shoulder. I truly appreciated how Dr.
explained" my options and didn't push me into making an immediate decision about surgery. He presented me with advantages of physical therapy or having the surgery. I went to one physical therapy session and knew immediately that I needed to proceed with the surgery. Dr.
and his assistant (
) were very responsive to my change of mind. After the surgery was performed, I was given supreme care. I visited Dr.
as needed and attended physical therapy. After 4 or 5 months from having the surgery, I have regained nearly all of my range of motion. I am so blessed that Dr.
was my surgeon and my care-giver.

Shoulder and arm orthopedics

Some orthopedic doctors specialize in the treatment of ailments affecting the musculoskeletal system of the shoulders and arms, including inflammation, fractures, tears, injuries and diseases.

Unfortunately, many people underestimate the severity of an injury to their biceps tendon and delay seeking treatment. (Photo by The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group)
Orthopedics - Shoulder & Arm

Knowing how to tell "it's just a sprain" from a serious biceps tendon tear can mean the difference between a successful surgery and lasting arm muscle weakness.

Sounds like you should be pursuing a disability claim.  Also, you could speak to your previous doctor frankly about your concerns.
Have they made orthotics for your shoes that distribute your weight better?

Whoops - I just realized that you may have been looking for Angie's List information on providers outside your home market. To see information on providers that aren't in your home Angie's List chapter, you can elect to pay a small addditional fee (generally about $15 to $20) to add another city's Angie's List to your existing memember.

Hi,

This is James W. with Member Care. Thanks for posting your question.

It looks like when you signed up online on 8/5/2014, that you accidentally joined our greater Portland chapter instead of our Salem/Corvallis chapter that your zip code falls under. I have transferred your subscription to that chapter, so you will now have access to the correct area.

I hope this information helps! Please let me know if I can assist further. You can respond to this thread or submit a new Answers post. You can also reach us at 1-866-783-2980. We're open weekdays from 8:00 am - 9:00 pm and Saturdays 8:00 am - 5:00 pm ET.

Thanks again!

I thanked him for the two new knees he gave me in 2012. Even did a dance step! X-rayed both shoulders. I waited while these were evaluated--reasonable time. Questioned me about pain and function. Told me condition of shoulders and option of replacement. Made me feel comfortable by explaining his mother had replaced both so she could hug her grandkids. Didn't pressure; gave me info. I'm 89 yrs. and got thru his 2 surgeries very well. I have myasthenia

When we finally got to see someone it was not the doctor. It was his assistant. Not a problem but we had an appointment at 0815 and it was 0900. Also, this was a rescheduled appointment due to the previous one we had to walk out on due to being a hour behind again. Office opens at 0800 and appointment was 0815. Said something to staff at 0830 and received a less than helpful excuse. Inconveniencing people for time has happened each time we go here and it is getting worse. Like the doctor but hate the wait and staff

In both surgeries he was great. Took all the time necessary to answer all questions. I have already sent friends to this doctor for orthopedic procedures. Great bedside manner. Great staff.

Everything went just as

said it would. I am one year post-op and have 100% mobility, no pain, very small scars and my strength is 100%. The Dr. has a very blunt and forceful bedside style which I like. I got references and talked to several surgeons before picking

. His staff is wonderful too. My only complaint was trying to call in or email in right to his staff, especially on the days following my surgery. Others at Ortho Indy took the calls and I never got a call back. Tank goodness what we were concerned about turned out to be nothing. If you stay in your sling and do your exercises as

He gave me an epidural in my neck and I am now on a pain regiment through him. Although I had been in physical therapy for a few months, Dr.
Salt Lake City Shoulder Surgeons Provider Name Locked
also had me continue physical therapy for a few months. The physical therapist actually referred me to this doctor and I really am glad she did! It was so bad I couldn’t raise my arm, so I appreciated that he got to the bottom of it. I never thought I could get the pain down to a tolerable level and he has made a tremendous difference in my pain level. He has made a huge impact on the quality of my life! The office takes care of any paperwork and they are nice about it.

I didn't know there was a shoulder specialist at the Hand Clinic, but he was that as well. I believe he fully understood the issue and treated it properly. No stress and easy to be with.
