"There were two projects involved. Our home and the duplex next door which is our rental. They brought in a front loader and dumping trailer and did the tear out in record time. They kept the property clean and the noise to a minimum. The project went smoothly and, when the weather behaved (rain), it moved along as scheduled. We are delighted with the finished projects. The old rail road ties are gone and we now have beautiful stone walls. People pull over in front of the duplex, amazed by the beauty of the landscaping. We couldn't be more pleased."

Revitalizing masonry and brick in a historic home

While searching for new homes, Brad Begle and his wife, Mary, instantly fell in love with the interior of a newly remodeled Victorian-era home in Lincoln Park. However, years of faulty repairs on the outside of the red-brick 1880s home had left the exterior in poor shape.

The Portland family wanted to add some unique outdoor elements to their new home. So they hired Matt Goddard of Poetry in Stone to install a path and a backyard seating area with a sunken fire pit.
