Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Reviews

Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
was prompt in coming out to give the estimate and we were able to schedule the job fairly quickly.
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
's team arrived every day on time and did a good job of cleaning up. Our satisfaction pretty much ended there. Like another reviewer,
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
was very quick to demand payment, and we paid him before we noticed that there were problems (lesson learned!).
After the team packed up their ladders and brushes, we noticed that they didn't paint one of the chimneys and missed the trim around a window on the second floor, both of which were included in the original bid. Also, in the original bid we asked to have the paint stripped and sanded off the west side of the house before they painted. They stripped, but didn't sand before applying the paint -- of course it looks awful.
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
came out and agreed that it need to be sanded down and repainted and that he would have his team come back and take care this and the other missed areas. Never happened. we've called
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
so many times we've lost count. Each time
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
says, "call me back at such-and-such time and we'll get you scheduled." This has been going on for over 2 years... ad nauseum.
"I hired

w/ Innovative Coatings to paint some walls for me. He is sloppy, and cuts corners. He has told my customers that when you spray and back-roll a wall, it is the same as putting two coats on it.
I will never use

He is a liar because he is not licensed to perform the work that he says that he is.He is a crook, he'll sell you two coats but give you one. I paid him what I owed him but within 24 hours he threatened to

me, threatened to file a

on my home, and slandered me on my local KSL & Google adds.
He has no licenses of any sort.
"They came right on time, did a great job, worked fast and professionally and cleaned up before they left. The shed looks great."
"Did not always show up on time - and didn't call to tell me they were not going to show. They broke a sprinkler head and left the pieces in the driveway where we promptly popped a tire. WE fixed both sprinkler and tire. Quality of workmanship is disappointing. I wish I had subscribed Angie's list prior to hiring these guys. The marketing scheme of helping young people clouded my intellect."
"When they started the job the salesman,
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
, introduced me to a "supervisor", Joaqin, who spoke English reasonably well, and two Hispanic workers who did not. I never saw
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
until the job was essentially over, though the salesman did spend some time on the job and effectively disarmed me of my concerns as the job progressed. The two workers seemed very cooperative and anxious to do a good job, but the language
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
was formidable. It was very difficult to communicate some of the nuances like color of trim, removal of fixtures and unused cables, etc. etc. The absence of an onsite supervisor was much more than a nuisance, and I think largely
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
to some of the more material frustrations.

The two workers had evidently never hung lap siding and their efforts at removal resulted in destroying more siding than had been intended to be replaced. Additionally, their efforts at replacement
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
to some nearly comical leveling and fit issues, requiring the removal of some of the siding they had installed so that it might be installed correctly. By the time we were finished arguing about what needed to be replaced and my frustation with the incompetience of their replacement, I finally just relented and tried to keep the job moving. The pictures show the waviness that they finally accepted as the best they could do. (Note the lower boards distinctively do not
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
as flat against the sheathing as the upper boards which were not replaced.)

I was told that the metal corner molding that was needed to replace the bent and broken old moliding could not be found anywhere, so they made an attempt to straighten some old ones that were badly distorted during removal, and covered the bottom run with some gavlinized corner braces from a hardware supplier for the winter, assuring me they would return in the spring to replace them. I have personally acquired the proper molding that allegedly "could not be found" and expect it to be used to replace some of the badly damaged molding that has been re-used if they ever return to finish.

Weather was begniing to become a consideration as the job continued into early November, but I was very disappoiinted when the masking was removed from the railing just a couple of days after it was painted when I discovered the paint was generally wrinkling, and actually peeling off in many places. Note the pictures this spring show how the paint has failed to adhere to the railing, now almost everywhere, giving the appearance that it has not been painted in years, yet it has been only a few months. Clearly whatever preparation was done was inadequate or whatever paint was used was incompatible.

Note also in the pictures how much of the deck paint has begun peeling...down to the bare wood, although the house itself seems to be adhering pretty well. With such non-adherence on the deck it would seem that the paint they applied would have to be stripped before anything could be trusted to be applied with any hope of adhering. I had initially expected the deck to be sealed rather than painted, but was convinced by
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
that the paint would be better.

They sent me a $350 bill that I don't feel I owe for additional material, allegedly for the "additional" siding that was replaced beyond what had been estimated. It's worth noting that the additional materials were actually necessary by damage they caused by their own incompetence in careful removal of the siding that had been water-damaged. It's now August and the problems remain unaddressed.

The jury is still out on the final outcome. I think most of these issues could have been prevented had adequate attention been focused on daily supervision and management of the job when it was going on. Clearly the winter weather prohibited their immediately addressing my concerns last fall, but now summer is over half gone, drier weather has long afforded them an opportunity to correct these issues.
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
failed to prevent the problems, and so far
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
has failed to even attempt to correct them! I had actually written this up and published it last winter, but
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
had prevailed on me to take it down and await their spring remedial initiatives. It's August 13 and I'm still waiting.

I don't know if my experience is typical, but I will not be as easily persuaded to swallow my complaints now. My patience has worn quite thin, and their response is well overdue! I will take steps to resolve this before our winter again inhibits an appropriate resolution.
"This was a great experience.
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
and his painting crew were punctual, efficient, clean, and very polite. The paint job looks fantastic - no drips or drops anywhere, crisp edges, nice detail around doors and window frames. I was at home most of the days, and the crew was professional and fast. They introduced themselves to me in the morning and checked in when they were leaving. They were careful around all the plants, they cleaned up every day. We couldn't be happier with the service and the quality of the job. For a mid-range price, we got a top-end result!"
Salt Lake City Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
did a great job. He estimated the amount of time it would take within 4 hours (he needed that extra time to complete some work we added as he went along). He arrived when he said he would and worked all day without taking a break. He was considerate of us and kept his supplies in one area. He covered furniture and was very careful not to drip on carpets and wood floors. He helped with color selection but wasn't pushy. We intend to hire him again this autumn to paint some of the rooms in our basement"
"Great!!! And Bill the cat appreciated they left clear plastic over his window so he could continue to look out on the yard."
"He was punctual and did a great job! The team consists of him and his wife, who work very well together! I liked working with a family-oriented business."

were great. They did exactly what they said they would do and showed up promptly. The work turned out much better than I thought it would, considering the condition of the areas needing painting. Very pleasant and professional people. Would not hesitate to use their services again or recommend them. "
