Be careful This guy is a fast talker. Talks a lot. A lot. I know I over paid. Be careful. His game is to talk a lot and get you pulled in. I would absolutely positively never recommend him to anyone. He worked h****** getting me be buy a whole new mechanism...and you know what i did. $1,000.

My watch isn't high-end, but I like to support local business, and replacing a battery when the case is a little tricky to open is something I'm happy to leave to professionals. I also hate having to park and hike into a mall kiosk. However, $12 is still a quarter of the cost of the watch itself (MSRP, I paid about $30 online) and they told me to come back the next day - when I'd dropped it off at about 3 p.m. I guess my little watch isn't worth prioritizing over the Rolexes and Omegas. I won't prioritize giving them my business at their current prices and wait time.

The entire process took a year from pickup to delivery. He claimed he had to fabricate a part in his shop for the grandmother clock. The grandmother clock runs fast, and gains an hour or so per week, making it useless. The antique wall clock hour hand broke when I was winding it and is now a wall decoration.
I called several times to arrange a followup service which has not been done as of the date of this review.
I have hired another clockmaker to repair the clocks.

My husband called
Salt Lake City Antique Clock Repair Provider Name Locked
, since we hadn't heard a response after contacting through Angie's List.
Salt Lake City Antique Clock Repair Provider Name Locked
was very responsive on the phone and set up an appointment to come to our home and check out our grandfather clock, which was not operating and chiming like it should. When
Salt Lake City Antique Clock Repair Provider Name Locked
came over, he went right to business, commenting on the quality and age of the clock, as well as the problem and fix in a very understandable way.
Salt Lake City Antique Clock Repair Provider Name Locked
has been in this business many, many years and knows grandfather clocks. He even took a look at our much older mantel clock at no extra cost, and did not try to sell us. He did tell us what it would cost to put a new movement in there, which sounded reasonable to us, but he did not encourage the service anytime soon. He told us to enjoy it for a while just the way it was.
Salt Lake City Antique Clock Repair Provider Name Locked
was full of information about clocks and very eager to answer our questions.
Salt Lake City Antique Clock Repair Provider Name Locked
is a professional, but is also a very personable and friendly. He is definitely worth a call to, because his expertise is very evident. We plan to continue with
Salt Lake City Antique Clock Repair Provider Name Locked
in the future with both our grandfather and mantel clocks.

He came over to my house and checked out my clock, which was too big to drag around town. He turned it from an old damaged broken clock to one that's new and pretty and works very well.
I told my cousin about him - she had a grandfather cloth that hadn't worked in years - and he went right over there and turned hers into something wonderful again.
I really liked him, and his performance, and how genuine he was.

Gave me a 2 hour window (11-1) on workday to be at my home.
Did not show up within the 2 hour window (I tried to call the only # I had and left a message).
I received a call around 1:48 (50 minutes after the 2 hour window) stating that he had got held up at last job.
I stated that I may just go with someone else as I would have appreciated a courtesy call that he was going to be late since it was a workday and I made arrangements to be available.
He told me to go ahead and find someone else and abruptly hung up.
It is unfortunate as I have used him before and would have given an A review if I was part of Angie List at the time but was very disappointed in how this went down.
I understand in this type of service business things like this happen but I would have just appreciated a courtesy call to let me know what the situation was and that he was going to be late or even to reschedule so I could have changed my plans.

This guy is incredible. The passion and attention to detail he applies to antique clock repair are truly remarkable. We inherited five antique clocks dating from the 1800's ... mantle, weighted, springed, etc. Some were in very poor shape, and none were working.
Salt Lake City Antique Clock Repair Provider Name Locked
took 6 months to disassemble each clock, and clean/repair/replace each clock piece back to its original functionality. They came back to our house today like works of art .. all beautiful and all functional. I know of no one else in the greater Cincinnati area with greater expertise and experience to do this kind of work. He's cutting back on how much of this work he does (as he's older), but he's the youngest of the set of experts in Cincinnati ... all the rest of whom are in their 80's.

takes his time to get the work done right, and he's got a waiting list of work months long, so if you need something done fast, don't call him. But if you can afford to wait months, he will do it right.

They picked up the
Salt Lake City Antique Clock Repair Provider Name Locked
clock, had it for almost a year, returned it, it still did not work, picked it up again, it still did not work after repair #2, they offered to repair it a THIRD time. By then I was tired of their "repair" service. Sent the movement to a professional clock repair company who said the movement was destroyed by
Salt Lake City Antique Clock Repair Provider Name Locked
Company and they never saw such a poor job of "repairs". The bushings were damaged, out of alignment, and in general the movement of the clock was destroyed to where it would never work. It is NOW being repaired by a clockmaster that knows what he is doing. I would NEVER EVER use or recommend
Salt Lake City Antique Clock Repair Provider Name Locked
again - they were way out of their league with repairing this clock.

She was great . Came to house and looked over the clock . took time to explain what she thought needed to be done. Came back the next week with the new parts and the clock runs and sounds like new. A very nice lady who takes her pride in her work and sees it as an art.
