Marble And Granite Reviews in Sacramento

The short story - great value for price, wonderful workers, every night work site clean and tidy, job completed timely, our (contractor, my husband and my) shared vision was created, end product better than we expected. Would we use
's company again - you bet, We hope to use them again to re-do one of our shower areas.
The details:
I spoke to several contractors, selected from Angie's List. We selected
's company because he listened to what we wanted, was forthcoming about potential unknowns - upgrading the electricity to code and our concern for possible subfloor damage, told us that drawings and permits were necessary in
, when he would be able to start our job and that he felt he could do what we wanted within our planned budget.
Prior to the work beginning we received a written contract that included the work to be done and when and how payment was due to him.
Tear down:
Tear down was done quickly- all the original wooden cabinets, tile counters, soffits, appliances, under cabinet mounted vent and florescent lighting. When I came home everything was done, the worksite cleaned up, swept up and tidy and the rest of the house protected from dust. Of course, that's when the spaghetti mess of old electrical wiring was exposed and visible.
The electrical system in the kitchen was upgraded by
who was our primary on-site "Foreman." He did a great job of giving us more electrical boxes, upgrading the wires, re-confirming how we wanted our under cabinet lighting to look, etc. My husband was present when the City Inspector came and there were no issues passing his inspection.
It was at this point that we were told our ceiling was incorrectly supported. It seems a previous owner had raised a portion of the ceiling and added florescent lights. The lumber he used was over sized, caused 2 cracks in the ceiling, and the raised area was out of level by almost 1 inch. (I did confirm the "remuddling" by my neighbor). It was
to the rescue again. Down came the ceiling, up went correct sized supports, a new smooth ceiling went back up with plenty of "pot" light. The new ceiling was the first completed part of the project.
Plumbing, gas line and floor patch:
As I recall, next was the plumbing done by Bill - plumbing for new dishwasher and new location, water line for new refrigerator with ice machine, and gas lines for gas
top . Later, Bill fixed our flooring. We had elected to keep the flooring because it extended into the family room. When the cabinets were added we need to have the floor "patched." Bill did a meticulous job and we would dare anyone to be able to pick out what was already there and what was newly placed.
We picked out our own appliances after
gave us some great ideas to help same some money. We checked Consumer's Report and looked at several stores. We ended up selecting a suite of appliances from
Elite (were we told they are actually manufactured by LG). The sink, faucet and free standing vent came from specialty stores.
As DIYers, we've never hung drywall. Frankly, I was a little taken aback when I saw the drywall up and taped. I was concerned that the gaps between the drywall boards looked too wide. I didn't say anything because by that time I already knew that if I wasn't happy
would correct any problems. When the walls were done, I specifically tried to find the areas I was concerned about and ran my hand over everything. The walls are smooth and look better than every other wall in my house! There is a small eating area next to the kitchen that wasn't being remodeled. It had a wall that the previous owner/Remuddler had "fixed."
took extra time to smooth that wall out so it matched the new walls.
We had decided to put in new cabinets because our old cabinets had stationary shelves, bottom corner units lacked the ability to add shelves or lazy-
type devices to make them effective, and to regain the area near the ceiling/soffit space. We did loose some upper cabinet space so that the view from the eating area would not be obstructed by cabinets and to show case the new freestanding vent hood.
Prior to the final selection of cabinets,
spoke with us about moving the cabinets and stovetop about 12 inches into the eating area. That small change made our kitchen feel and act like a much larger space.
also suggested that we allow the granite to overhang the cabinets on the eating areas side of the kitchen so we could use the overhang as eating or serving space.
directed us to local companies to select cabinets, tile and granite. The cabinets and granite were completed in one day. The cabinets were installed by the local company but oversight of the install was done by
. I know it was
who ensured that everything was installed up to his and
's standards.
came most days to ensure his crew had all of the resources they needed for the day, to discuss the day's projects, and to spot check that the work was done to his standards. (We never saw any work being redone). He also talked to one or both of us each day he was here.
We never heard harsh words and we frequently heard
praise the team members. On the flip side, his crew was always complimentary of
and were keenly aware of his expectations/standards.
did take a few days off during our project. He made sure we were aware of his future absence and told us that
would be in charge. During
's short absence, there was no slow down, change in work flow or work plans.
As mentioned, we expected to have some additional cost because the electrical work had to be brought up to code and the previously mentioned additional ceiling work. As the problems were identified,
took the time to explain the issues, explain what needed to be done and with the ceiling gave us options to fix it. We felt informed and comfortable making decisions and the original contract was updated and signed to show the additional work/costs.
Would I recommend Christian constructions? Absolutely, when we tell the story of our remodel and show pictures we always emphasize this would not have been possible without
, Bill and
. We got everything we hoped for - a new and functional kitchen and more - a beautiful kitchen, more lighting, better work area, and an additional serving/earing area.

The day we stopped in at
, the designer took the time to work with us on a few design options right then. They were the only company that took the time to meet with us the same day instead of asking us to schedule an appointment and return on another day. We picked our cabinets and granite on the next weekend at another walk in visit. We were given countertop samples and the sample cabinet door so we could look at floors, paint and backsplash options. The weekend before our installation, we decided to change our choice of granite. This didn't present any issues for the staff and they took the time right then to help us pick out the slabs we liked so they could reserve them for us.

The cabinets we picked were manufactured in Pennsylvania and ended up being delayed by two weeks.
worked to schedule out installation for the day after the cabinets were delivered. The installers were great about cleaning up afer themselves and showed up on time and put in a full days work.

I can't think of anything I would do differently and our overall experience was great. The staff was very helpful in our decision process and helped keep the job from becoming stressful.

I was very pleased with the people, process, and results. The showroom staff and installers were all helpful, friendly, and polite. They installed when they said they would and the installers cleaned up after themselves. I regularly get compliments on my kitchen.

Great company to work with, I'm new to

In late 2008, my wife and I purchased a 1950 fixer home that needed a lot of work in the kitchen. We'd had a pleasant experience consulting with
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
on a previous project, so we decided to call him again. From day one until the very end of the project,
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
was absolutely great to work with. He came out for a free estimate, and listened very carefully to everything we wanted to accomplish on the project. At that time our plans for the kitchen were not very well defined, as we were unsure of the cost of a full remodel.
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
helped us prioritize the many aspects of the project, and gave us enough information to decide on the best approach. In the end, his price was so reasonable compared to other contractors; we ended up opting for a full remodel. As others have noted, there are no games or

costs with
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
will work with you to arrive at the exact outcome you want, while ensuring that you understand fully what will be involved and making recommendations as needed along the way. As is often the case with an older home such as ours, there were a couple of unexpected issues, but
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
handled them very well, communicating clearly and in advance the additional work that was needed, how much it would cost, and what options were available. Any additional work was always fully documented with addendum's to the original contract, and the cost was accurately stated. Living in a house while a major project like this is going on is always challenging, but
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and his crew were so courteous, professional and trustworthy, this month long project ended up being much easier to live with than we anticipated. About mid-way through the project, we threw
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
a bit of a curve-ball by asking him to replace the floor of the kitchen with new tile, which we had originally planned to do ourselves.
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
was happy to do that for us as well, and handled the additional work perfectly, even working through the holidays to get it done on time. Knowing that I had an interest in doing some tile work myself later on,
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
even offered to teach me how to do the job as he worked. The experience was very educational, and even fun.
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
was also very patient and helpful as we made the many design choices that came up along the way. We had particular trouble deciding what style of granite countertops we wanted.
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
accompanied us on two occasions to granite showrooms to show us what options existed and help us come to a decision. When we finally did make a choice, it was one that was not available, but
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
managed to find us the exact equivalent somewhere else, and at no additional charge. Now that the project is complete, we have an absolutely beautiful new kitchen that is exactly what we'd envisioned, and we couldn't be more satisfied. There are many more projects in the future of this house, and we will definitely be calling
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
again when the time comes. Thanks

Atlas was fabulous. They were repeatedly the most prompt at getting back to us with information and estimates. We were a bit taken aback at how slack some of the companies were at responding to requests (I thought there was an economic downturn--but maybe not in the granite biz, or maybe they are just not all that customer service oriented) but Atlas was consistently prompt, friendly, and professional and their final job was beautiful. They are fine and professional craftsmen and business professionals and I recommend them highly.

Overall the project went very well.
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
met with us several times to go over what we wanted. We also visited his showroom. He provided a very detailed estimate of the project. (For example the cost per door.) Additionally, he provided several door samples/stain samples for us to approve before the project started. He was on time and on budget, although the project took a bit longer than we thought it would.
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
was also helpful referring us to an appliance dealer to obtain a good price on new appliances. Ziggy, his installer, was a very hard worker and did a wonderful job. We would use them again.

A company Representative came to my house to see the area and to discuss with me what I wanted and how much it would cost. Next I went to their showroom and had an appointment with him to select what I wanted such as tile shower type, cabinets, faucets etc. The construction supervisor came to my house and discussed my plans and measured for the custom cabinets and counters etc. I was then mailed a schedule for my job. The job went as planned. The job took 22 days. I now have 2 beautiful bathrooms.

The owner's business card says it all: black card with red line around the edges and a silver diamond in the center with red facets. It shows elegant taste and really catches your eye, just as our kitchen now does for visitors. Every reaction has been "Oh, wow!" Their work is that good. Here's an example of how

and his brother

consider their work a craft, not "work". My wife picked a grout and

objected, saying the fine textured group used for the smooth granite tiles wouldn't go with the rougher textured limestone backsplash. We said "sure, why not?" (I mean, what the *expletive* do WE know?). It turns out
Sacramento Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
was spot on. A tiny detail maybe, but it was all these "tiny details" that added up to a very high quality counter installation. And talk about honest? We had to go out of town before they finished but felt perfectly comfortable leaving them our house key. And this is ME, a very untrusting guy!

They just installed it; we bought the granite from somewhere else. They did a good job. They were on time and friendly. We shopped around for a long time to find someone who was well experienced like this company is. They did an extra special job and we are thrilled with the service.
