Lighting Installation reviews in Sacramento

Took longer than originally expected due to the fact that the original home builder used cans that were approximately 1/4" smaller than standard.

was very professional and made sure not to leave until the job was 100% complete and that I was happy with the results.

I was having problem of breaker tripping every time I used microwave and toaster at same time. I heard of H&H from a friend who had work done by this company. I found their listing on Angie's list and was impressed by the reviews. I called and talked to owner Nick and he offered to check out my electrical issue with no charge and let me know if it was something that I could resolve or if it required electrical work and that he would give me estimate. Nick came to my house that day and found that I needed dedicated circuit for my microwave. I asked for estimate for installation of outside motion detector light and "can" lights in kitchen and front room, in addition to circuit for kitchen. I found the estimate reasonable and scheduled work.
Nick and his crew scheduled my project later that week and would have done work a day earlier if I didn't have prior commitments. Nick and his crew arrived 10 minutes early (something that I haven't experienced often) and completed work and cleanup by 4p.m.
From our first meeting, I felt very comfortable with Nick and equally with his crew when they arrived for work. The were polite and friendly but very professional. Nick would seek my approval on every step of the work and answered any questions that I had. The quality of the completed work was beyond my expectations and the cleanup left my house in better condition than before the work began. I would definitely recommend this company and will used them for any future electrical work that I cannot do myself.

I have had
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
work at my duplex 4 times over the last year. This is my second review, the first 3/19/12. They worked at my duplex twice in 10/13. They installed 3 sets of outdoor motion sensored security lighting in the back and side on my duplex. They replaced the front decorative coach lighting. They changed the ballast and lighting in the kitchen. They checked a garage light and determined it did not need service. They taught me how to check my quirky circuit breakers.

are very professional. They return calls promptly, arrive on time or call if they are going to be delayed. They discuss and explain the work that needs to be done. They work quickly and are very neat. They are the only electricians I have ever worked with so I do not know about electrical work pricing; however, I have never felt overcharged. The price included all lighting, parts and fixtures except the coach lights, which I provided. I would definitely hire them in the future.

It went okay. I think I learned a lesson about purchasing one of the advertised "man hour" deals. I purchased two man hours of electical work. Well, instead of one electrician showing up and doing the jobs I had in mind, two electricians showed up. They probably could have completed the items I had in mind except for one of the electricians was a younger kid (perhaps in training) who mostly just held the ladder for the other electrician. When the older electrician explained to me that I only had the two electricians for an hour, after I rolled my eyes at the obviously ineffective use of time, to his credit- they did stay until they got the job done.
As for the repair to the light inside my garage. He rigged it. It works, but it doesn't look like a professional did it.

was great to work with. He was on time and worked quickly. Some of the lighting issues were not easy fixes but he researched the problems and found ways to get things working properly and he quarantees all his work.

This was my first experience using Angie's List and I am very impressed by
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
! Everything was perfect. I purchased a "$99 special " for two man-hours of electrical work. They contacted me the day I purchased it on-line and I was able to schedule service for a week out. They followed up with two email reminders on Friday and then again this morning (the day of service). They showed up exactly on time. They were friendly and professional.

were easy to work with and went out of their way in adapting the new light to work. We had hoped to have a short fixed in one of the four lights attached to our anciemt (1924) medicine cabinet but it would have meant disassembling the entire cabinet and I opted not to have it done at this time. However, they were willing to see the project through if I wanted them to do so. I will definitely use them for my future electrical needs and highly recommend them!

The short story - great value for price, wonderful workers, every night work site clean and tidy, job completed timely, our (contractor, my husband and my) shared vision was created, end product better than we expected. Would we use
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
's company again - you bet, We hope to use them again to re-do one of our shower areas....More /> The details:
I spoke to several contractors, selected from Angie's List. We selected
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
's company because he listened to what we wanted, was forthcoming about potential unknowns - upgrading the electricity to code and our concern for possible subfloor damage, told us that drawings and permits were necessary in
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
, when he would be able to start our job and that he felt he could do what we wanted within our planned budget.
Prior to the work beginning we received a written contract that included the work to be done and when and how payment was due to him.
Tear down:
Tear down was done quickly- all the original wooden cabinets, tile counters, soffits, appliances, under cabinet mounted vent and florescent lighting. When I came home everything was done, the worksite cleaned up, swept up and tidy and the rest of the house protected from dust. Of course, that's when the spaghetti mess of old electrical wiring was exposed and visible.
Electrical:
The electrical system in the kitchen was upgraded by
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
who was our primary on-site "Foreman." He did a great job of giving us more electrical boxes, upgrading the wires, re-confirming how we wanted our under cabinet lighting to look, etc. My husband was present when the City Inspector came and there were no issues passing his inspection.
Lighting:
It was at this point that we were told our ceiling was incorrectly supported. It seems a previous owner had raised a portion of the ceiling and added florescent lights. The lumber he used was over sized, caused 2 cracks in the ceiling, and the raised area was out of level by almost 1 inch. (I did confirm the "remuddling" by my neighbor). It was
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
to the rescue again. Down came the ceiling, up went correct sized supports, a new smooth ceiling went back up with plenty of "pot" light. The new ceiling was the first completed part of the project.
Plumbing, gas line and floor patch:
As I recall, next was the plumbing done by Bill - plumbing for new dishwasher and new location, water line for new refrigerator with ice machine, and gas lines for gas
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
top . Later, Bill fixed our flooring. We had elected to keep the flooring because it extended into the family room. When the cabinets were added we need to have the floor "patched." Bill did a meticulous job and we would dare anyone to be able to pick out what was already there and what was newly placed.
Appliances:
We picked out our own appliances after
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
gave us some great ideas to help same some money. We checked Consumer's Report and looked at several stores. We ended up selecting a suite of appliances from
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
's
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
Elite (were we told they are actually manufactured by LG). The sink, faucet and free standing vent came from specialty stores.
Drywall:
As DIYers, we've never hung drywall. Frankly, I was a little taken aback when I saw the drywall up and taped. I was concerned that the gaps between the drywall boards looked too wide. I didn't say anything because by that time I already knew that if I wasn't happy
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
would correct any problems. When the walls were done, I specifically tried to find the areas I was concerned about and ran my hand over everything. The walls are smooth and look better than every other wall in my house! There is a small eating area next to the kitchen that wasn't being remodeled. It had a wall that the previous owner/Remuddler had "fixed."
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
took extra time to smooth that wall out so it matched the new walls.
Cabinets:
We had decided to put in new cabinets because our old cabinets had stationary shelves, bottom corner units lacked the ability to add shelves or lazy-
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
type devices to make them effective, and to regain the area near the ceiling/soffit space. We did loose some upper cabinet space so that the view from the eating area would not be obstructed by cabinets and to show case the new freestanding vent hood.
Prior to the final selection of cabinets,
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
spoke with us about moving the cabinets and stovetop about 12 inches into the eating area. That small change made our kitchen feel and act like a much larger space.
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
also suggested that we allow the granite to overhang the cabinets on the eating areas side of the kitchen so we could use the overhang as eating or serving space.
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
directed us to local companies to select cabinets, tile and granite. The cabinets and granite were completed in one day. The cabinets were installed by the local company but oversight of the install was done by
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
. I know it was
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
who ensured that everything was installed up to his and
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
's standards.
Professionalism:
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
came most days to ensure his crew had all of the resources they needed for the day, to discuss the day's projects, and to spot check that the work was done to his standards. (We never saw any work being redone). He also talked to one or both of us each day he was here.
We never heard harsh words and we frequently heard
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
praise the team members. On the flip side, his crew was always complimentary of
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
and were keenly aware of his expectations/standards.
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
did take a few days off during our project. He made sure we were aware of his future absence and told us that
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
would be in charge. During
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
's short absence, there was no slow down, change in work flow or work plans.
As mentioned, we expected to have some additional cost because the electrical work had to be brought up to code and the previously mentioned additional ceiling work. As the problems were identified,
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
took the time to explain the issues, explain what needed to be done and with the ceiling gave us options to fix it. We felt informed and comfortable making decisions and the original contract was updated and signed to show the additional work/costs.
Would I recommend Christian constructions? Absolutely, when we tell the story of our remodel and show pictures we always emphasize this would not have been possible without
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
,
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
, Bill and
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
. We got everything we hoped for - a new and functional kitchen and more - a beautiful kitchen, more lighting, better work area, and an additional serving/earing area.

arrived on time and got to work immediately. They were meticulous,
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
even wore boot covers when he walked into the house. The bath light required

to cut a larger hole and he did an excellent job of cleaning up any debris. The job did take a bit longer to do and I thought that
Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
was very fair when he calculated the cost for the extra time and supplies.

The work went very well.

called before the appointment hour to say he was on the way and would be there by the appointment time. Mr.

Sacramento Lighting Companies Provider Name Locked
