In-home Elder Care reviews in Sacramento

No show / no call / no response to my calls / unbelievable cover up story.

Mr. Director and the assigned caregiver were to come to our home on Sunday, May 22, at noon to meet my mother, assess her needs, and to discuss special instructions. The assigned caregiver was to come to our home on Monday, May 23 at 7 a.m.

Friday, May 20, I left a message on the office phone advising that my jury start time was now 1 p.m. Monday, and we could discuss the caregiver's hours when we met Sunday.

No one showed up Sunday. No one called me to explain why they would not show up. No one responded to my call to the 24 hour access number to explain why they did not show up.

No caregiver appeared Monday.

At 10 a.m. Monday, when the office opened, I called and spoke with Ms. Owner. When I asked her, she denied that Mr. Director was in jail or in the hospital. She could not explain why Mr. Director and the caregiver had failed to appear Sunday. She was unable or unwilling to provide any assistance (such as immediately connecting me with the assigned caregiver I needed before 1 p.m.). Instead, she referred me to Mr. Director's cell phone number (the 24 hour access number for which there was no response on Sunday).

I went to the jury commissioner's office, explained the failure of

to show up, and was granted a continuance of my jury service.

Mr. Director left me a voicemail message shortly after 10 a.m. Monday. He claimed to have been in an accident, claimed to have been hospitalized, and claimed to not have had access to a phone. Surely if this were the situation, Ms. Owner would have told me.

If one assumes Mr. Director's story is true, he is a very irresponsible employee for calling me first with his story before he alerted Ms. Owner to his situation. And for a company that claims to have a 24 hour access phone, depending on Mr. Director's cell phone for that important task is unworkable. And Ms. Owner's inability or unwillingness to assist me by immediately contacting the caregiver is unacceptable.

I don't believe there was an assigned caregiver. This company is unreliable and irresponsible.

This was a very frustrating experience. The best part of the experience is that my mother was never in their care.

I am very happy with her service. She is very punctual. She is friendly and so is the front office. I would definitely continue using her service in the future.

We had trouble getting a consistent person at first, but eventually got one that has stayed. They do a good job with getting some one to help you, it is just sometimes hard to adjust for the day with the inconsistency.

The owner came to my home and interviewed me completely, inspecting the home and phoning the doctor. We decided on 48 (or more?) hrs. She chose an

and again, they both came to my house for an interview and to check that the environment met their criterion for safety. After the surgery, the

& my daughter transfered a very groggy me first to a wheeled chair then to bed. She watched silently while I slept. As I started moving about, she immediately notified the RN of my status, helped me in repositioning and taking pain medications at the proper times. She helped drain tubes and track output. She moved without a sound and was always there when I needed her. After nausea was no issue, she showed up with numerous tasty, attractively served small meals to keep up my strength. The kitchen gleamed while she was here and seemingly she couldn't find enough to keep her busy as I opened a closet later to find she'd even ironed my

while I was sick! She stayed overnight.
