We had originally called to get an estimate and we were told that they could not give an estimate over the phone. They told me that they need to set up an appointment with an estimator and they I waited on the phone for 15 min until the line went dead. We got an estimate from another company. Several days later they called to apologize, so we allowed them to set up an appointment for someone to come to the house. At 6 pm the night before they called to say that they need to make the appointment later in the day because of the distance between the appointment scheduled before mine. I reluctantly agreed but asked them to call before they were on their way. Around a half hour after the appointment window I receive a call telling me they are on their way. I told them not to bother I had other things to do and was not happy with their service. The next day they call to apologize, and while I'm telling to the young lady what I've had happen to me, she hangs up on me.


Our old hydronic HVAC system died and could not be repaired because the manufacturer had gone out of business, and a conventional furnace and AC system was not an option. One contractor sent installers who took one look and said they had no idea how to do it.

On the day of the appointment, the tech arrived and got to work. First he ran the A/C unit for a while, to get it up to operating temp and verify that it is operational. He told me that it's better to check & calibrate certain pressures while the unit is running. After this, he headed outside to work on the unit. A short time after that, he came in and let me know that he would be unable to maintain the unit because there is a problem. (forgive me if I botch some of the technical details here...) Apparently the refrigerant return line pressure was off the charts high.

So, we changed paths from maintenance service to diagnostic service. He called the office and asked if I could use the cost of the service call for a full diagnostic instead, which they approved. So he went ahead and inspected the whole system. Long story short, the root problem is that the indoor coil is blocked and needs to be cleaned or replaced. I have had other companies look at my system and identify all kinds of other issues that did not fix the system, but I do believe that is finally the correct identification of the problem. The proposed cost to access & clean it was somewhere around $750.

I've been hovering around the decision to get a new heating and cooling system, so I decided not to have this work done, and instead bite the bullet and have a new system installed. For my new system, I am going through the SMUD HPP program. Unfortunately

is not on SMUD's approved contractors list, otherwise I would have been happy to hire them for the new system.

I really appreciate that the person who was sent out to maintain the system was very knowledgeable and capable of accurately diagnosing a completely different problem.

I called Honey Air so they could check out my air conditioner as it was giving me problems. We made an appointment and they were here on time and I was called the day before reminding me of the appointment and the day of the appointment I received a call the technician was on the way. We met and I told him the issues we were having with Air conditioner. After he he heard the problems we were having,he said he would do some testing as well as checking it out. After a very detailed check was done he told me the problem and what it would cost to fix it. The technician also informed me that when the the a.c was initially installed it was meant for a smaller square footage house. (My house is 12 years old and I purchased it new.)This meant ,more than likely, I would be having more issues with my a.c so I made the decision to have the unit replaced with an a.c. that would be large enough to cool my house! I have been very pleased with the Honey Air service, I have found them to be professional, honest, timely and they they are prompt in returning calls. I am very pleased with their service that I also signed up for on going service on the a.c. I give them a high score because they are deserving of that score! I have recommended Honey Air to friends and family because they are trustworthy!

They came out and supposedly gave me a tune up, and inspected the system, which they said was pretty good, with very minor issues, something referring to a clog somewhere, but would not effect my overall cooling of the house too much. However, within 24 hours of that service, my system stopped cooling, because the fan to the unit outside stopped working. I had to have my Home Warranty people come out to my house on 3 separate occasions, all within the same week, and changed 3 parts, all within the same week of JR

My system is 13 years old and this is why I wanted to make sure things were running well.. .Either the parts were bad and these were not checked and/or overlooked or they went bad within 24 hours of JR Putnams inspection, which is such a coincidence! Before the inspection I had no issues with the 13 year system, it was for preventative more than anything.

Additionally, during the installation process the installers damaged our wall with a ladder and they also broke 2 of our recessed can lights. Rather than admitting that they damaged them, and just offering to have them replaced because they are only about 15 dollars each, they tried to hide the damage. They used some of their ducting straps and tied the light up to a ceiling rafter to hold it in place. I had to replace the lights myself. Rather than just admitting the problem (which wasn’t a big deal), they tried to hide it.

seems like a nice guy when he shows up to try and sell you a new HVAC unit or do work on your unit. But beware, the second you have a problem with your unit he will quickly try to find any reason to void your warranty and cause you stress. Do not trust him to touch anything on your unit. He is either a scam artist who wants to do work that isn’t necessary, or he is totally incompetent and has no clue what he is doing.
