Although wait times (for the intial and follow--up appointments) in the very busy orthopedics practice (Tuckahoe Orthopedics) are too long, getting the appointment for the outpatient surgery was very quick... and the surgery itself went very smoothly.
Dr.
was highly recommended by my primary care physician, and he did an excellent job!

Dr.
Hull was able to determine the source of pain from my original total knee replacement, and explained the surgery required so that I would not have pain any longer. I was well informed of the surgery required. He explained everything in detail. The day before my surgery, Dr.
Hull phoned me to ensure I was ready for the surgery and understood everything - wow! After the surgery, Dr.
Hull explained everything to my husband and to me. He is very patient attentive and listens to his patients.

They have a dedicated staff. When you come in, you have one therapist who works with you. If he is busy, another therapist comes to work with you right away. There aren't a lot of people at one time. They treat me with respect and address my level of pain. They always ask if everything is okay. They always keep me in their attention.

Well-and it is an ongoing story.
Pluses--never was pushed to have surgery.

was always willing to take time to talk about pulses and minuses of surgery and of alternatives. Research revealed he was one of a small number of surgeons to do shoulder replacement in

The surgery performed by Dr. Nordt didn't keep the knee from bleeding periodically. I have seen other surgeons and none of them know what to do in my case. I cannot sit for long periods of time without bleeding into the knee. I have made a brace for my thigh which keeps chairs from digging into the back of my leg and the brace allows me to sit for longer periods of time with little pain. None of the doctors including one I saw near

DC have any idea why sitting causes my knee to swell. The last doctor I saw said the condition is rare and there is little known about it. I think Dr. Nordt did all he could given that my situation is rare.

If you're a fan of impersonal health care, this practice is for you. You wait to see the receptionist, then they call you to see someone who takes your insurance information, then there is a waiting room to see a doctor.

This particular doctor spent approximately 90 seconds examining me before turning me

to a nurse. They gave me a brace for my hand and charged me $300 for it.

After several years of visits to Dr. Scioscia because of back pain and several spinal steroid injections, vertebra continued to move more out of line with the spine and were putting pressure on nerves to the leg. Dr. Scioscia had attempted to avoid surgery with the steroid injections, but he and we ultimately decided that it was now necessary because of numbness in the leg, walking, etc. Surgery went extremely well. Dr. Scioscia was attentive in the hospital, visiting every day, listening carefully to concerns, dealing with bad reaction to anesthetics, and throughout followup visits. We think he is THE BEST in

Very personalble young doctor. Very good educational credentials, but seemed rushed and lacked compassion. He spent less time examining me than my GP did. (You'll live, he said, when I told him the shot hurt a lot) Didn't seem to care about xrays I had or earlier treatment. Seemed to have a pre-planned treatment plan: if cortisone doesn't work, surgery is next He is new in practicing medicine, he needs more practice.

Very well. Surgery in AM, released in PM (this is unusual. Patient usually stays overnight). Minor pain for several days. Needed to protect the shoulder with a sling and foam pad. Now I am pain free, but I will never have full use of my arm, which is a normal outcome.
