was very good when it came to the installation of the service. They took a lot of time to explain to us how everything worked. I have not really had it that long but so far everything is really good with it. They were very thorough.

They kept bugging me to switch to them and finally I did. The service started going downhill and by the end of the month it was completely out. Over the course of the month, I spent a total of six hours on the phone calling tech support that was located in India. They all said it was my fault and not their issue to solve. Finally, I reached a very educated sounding man who may have studied abroad because he had really good English. He totally got what was going on. He knew the problem and sent a crew out to fix it. It was just the point of all the wasted hours on the phone and one month with no service that I paid for. I pay about $40 a month for the service. I am still using them for now.

Cavalier sent me a DSL modem and software, which I installed myself. It was easy and straightforward to set-up. The Internet was not as fast as broadband cable Internet. The service would go down about once a month, and the outages could last up to 4 hours. I canceled the service mainly because I got a better deal from Comcast. I did not have to return the modem.

I was able to schedule my installation on a Saturday morning. The technician came exactly when he said he would be there. He had some trouble setting up the Internet, and it took him about an hour to complete. I have no complaints about the Internet service. I have not experienced an interruption yet, and it never seems to run slow.

Everything about

is fantastic (throughout, both up and down, service continuity, responsiveness), except the price, which is double what my friends in other parts of the country pay. Guess that's what you get with a monopoly, eh?!

The service technician restored the Internet. However. All calls to
Richmond Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
customer service, technical support are outsourced to foreign countries. Unable to understand the broken English of foreign employees. Not only were this foreign technicians unable to solve the Internet connectivity issues but inform you as the customer 20 year customer I am) that it will be three days to store your service. That is completely unacceptable. I researched and contacted the CEO of
Richmond Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
and had to be a witch to get Internet restored. The rented modem, from

, needed replaced. it took 5 minutes for tech to switch it out. But had to go through HE__ double hockey stick to get through the foreign customer service. Now seeking home grown American company for tv and Internet service. Will switch if I find one. Verizon outsources jobs to foreign countries as well.

So... I've been with
Richmond Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
for 10 years. When I first moved into my house I didn't even own a TV and just had internet service. I paid less than $40/mo. A year later a salesman said that they were raising their prices $15/mo, but if I purchased basic cable that my rate would go up only $3 extra a month. I explained that I didn't own a TV, but he insisted that it was a better deal with the basic cable.... so I got cable (with no TV) and started paying $42/mo. A year later, my fiance moved in with a TV and was thrilled that cable was already there. Not long after that my rate went up to over $50 - a rate increase to keep up with inflation. Somewhere around this time, I discovered that we were being charged an additional $10 a month for a box that we didn't have (they did correct this but I had to go into the main office). Then came the whole HD fiasco..... our 15 channels started being eliminated one by one until we were only left with 2-3 channels (even PBS was removed - how is that possible?) -- UNLESS we paid for the HD upgrade at $10 a month AND an HD box at an additional $8. So no we are up to $68 a month for BASIC cable and flimsy internet service. Internet service became maniacally slow. Not only did we have to restart our router daily to get any connectivity, but it would take me several minutes to download even small files and streaming anything was completely out of the question. When I called to complain about it, they told me I didn't even have internet service!

? I explained that I had been an internet customer for 8 years and was promptly told that I was not one now. But they would be happy to add it to my package for a mere $20 extra a month! This seemed unbelievable to me, but no one was willing to budge on this situation. I refused to pay the additional amount... thus now ending up with BASIC cable. Over the last two years, my bill has increased from $68 to approximately $78 (I say approximately because every month seemed to be slightly different but around this amount)... then late last year all the sudden there is a mysterious "HD Technology Fee" being added and of course all the taxes and other Fees seemed to have increased as well (2 communications sales taxes, a PEG Capital fee, Rights of Way Fee and another PEG capital fee) to total $93 a month! Seriously??????? Basic cable folks! no movies, no 100 channels... BASIC cable. Almost $100 a month! I'm done. I know most cable companies do similar things, but I think

is about the worst... and I hate the idea that I have to call in or go in, whenever a mysterious charge gets added to my bill. I truly do not understand how they can get away with it. They wont with me any longer. Good riddance!
